All the sudden or? What have you installed within the period? Some background ad-system tend to be tougher than others.
Shut down sync from google and rarely used apps. Or just calibrate the battery

Already My Phone's Wifi, bluetooth, gps, auto Sync, auto rotate deactivated?

Hmmm... Is the battery swollen? Have you tried calibrating the battery? Or did someone changed the overclock value?(if its rooted)
If the phone is always placed in high temperature places, it might too. (I once placed it in my pocket under the sun, walked a kilometre and it goes from 100 to 94)
Try uninstalling unused apps and if you have a live wallpaper disable it.

Calibrate your batere, when phone you charge disable wifi and 3g, if your phone root use setcpu and make profile charging with underclock..and will be can fast charge.
Sorry for bad my english.

hi all...
i have a question. my wonder also got a charging problem few weeks recently. previously i have tried many type of roms posted here.
normally i left for charge a few hours, then it say "charged" at lock screen. but i realize the battery status at status bar showed lower than 100%. i have tried to use battery calibration or CWM method wipe battery stats. but thats not helping. and it seems to take longer hours to fully charged and sometimes not even.
anybody have any idea? i used CM9, CM10, Xperia ICE by filosofi_killms before.

I was going to say it is the ROM's fault but you said it happened in several ones.
Are you sure you flash the ROMs the right way? If yes then I have another idea try downloading a battery app that has a notification battery calculator/viewer and compare the lock screen and the status bar batteries with that app, the one that matches is the one you believe. Another thing you must check is to see If the battery isn't damaged or something, does it get fat when charging? Also I don't think it is the batteries problem, checking is always better

[Q]Battery Draining 20% in 15minutes

Hey everyone, I've tried posting this in the battery life thread but I've gotten no help in resolving this issue. This morning I unplugged the phone from the charger(I leave it plugged in overnight) and the phone dropped 20 perecent of the battery in under 15 minutes. At this point the only thing i was doing with the phone was checking a text message I had recieved.
I have optimized my phone so that I it only updates email and many other services manually but regardless a 20 percent drop in 15 minutes is not acceptable. I have calibrated my battery using the battery calibration app which hasn't worked. I have rooted my phone and am currently using the stock bell rom. Additionally, I am also using nova launcher on my phone and that is about it. The only strange thing that I've done to my phone is use a blackberry charger to charge my battery but I don't think this is the issue.
At this point I am beyond frustrated with this device need a solution now or I'll have to take it in to get fixed. Does granting root access void my warrenty? Do I need to unroot before I go to bell. I will post images of my phone stats in the next post.
thank you in advance for your help.

Before you send it in or take it somewhere, download" Better Battery Stats" and see if you can target where the drain is coming from. And yes, you will need to return to stock but before you do you will need to run the triangle away app. That will reduce your flash counter to 0. I'm betting you will be able to find out the problem with Better Battery Stats though. Check your PM's. I sent you something helpful that I didn't wanna post on here.

*Edit* - Never mind. I see them. Also, what ROM & kernel are you using? Are you using the original charger & cable that came with your phone? I read of a guy having a similar problem & it turned out to be his charger & charging cable.

I don't know what Kernel I'm using but I am using the stock Jellybean rom. I've basically just given myself root access and installed the latest stock firmware. I am using my original charger(plugged into the wall) and last night i left my phone plugged in for over 8 hours so its definitely getting a full charge.
When I was am girlfriends house I used her dads blackberry charger to charge my phone but I don't think that would have wrecked the battery in such a way. I have noticed that the battery seems to draing very rapidly up until about 75% at which point battery consumption returns to normal. I can try charging my phone whilst plugged into my pc if you think that maybe make a difference.

Ok. I gotcha. The charger thing only matters if you use the wrong charger all the time. It doesn't charge it properly. It doesn't do any permanent damage that I know of. I would advise using the Samsung charger whenever possible. Anyways, let your battery drain all the way down to 0 til the phone shuts itself off then charge it all the way back to %100 without taking it off the charger. This should recalibrate your battery. It just got knocked outta wack. It happens sometimes. Let me know if this works. And by the way, you're probably running the stock kernel. You can always get that info by going to settings/about device. Let me know if this helped.

Hi thanks for all the replies. I let my battery drain and then charged it fully and usage seems okay but im at 68% in 5 hours which still seems excessive. Here are the image from better battery stats. I still ended up getting 20 hours out of my last charge but i am concerned with the rapid depletion.

How much screen on time did you have when you were at %68? How bright was your screen? There are a lot of variables to take into consideration. Were you playing games?

I have a friend who had the same problem, he had to get his phone turned in because his motherboard was malfunctioning.
He ended up getting a full phone replacement and hasn't had the problem since.
If you continue to have this issue I'd definitely get it looked at by your providers retail location.
edit: If you root you will want to avoid tripping the flash counter, which from what I've seen lately is very difficult.
Telus flat out told me in the store that they don't even care if it's rommed and have asked me what I like to use for roms etc which is nice, I don't know if Bell is as lenient.
Best of luck.

The previously mentioned %68 after 5 hours is pretty typical of what I get running stock kernel with ParanoidKANGdroid 1.40. That's while I'm at work, so I'm usually connected to WiFi, on silent, with most of my usage during that time being texting, but I do usually play games on my lunch. I have thought that was a bit excessive drain, so yesterday I set up CPU Editor and set my maximum CPU frequency to 702 MHz. I got pretty close to the same drain.
Today so far, I have the stats uploaded, and that seems much better to me so far.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for posting this thread, I'm having the exact same problem. It's been an interesting go for me.
Some times it does it and other times it doesn't.
I'm using cyanogenmod nightly from 1.3.13 with the latest ktoonez kernel and I've noticed that today, it's sucking battery more than ever. I'll attach a screenshot, but I think there might be something with the charger as mentioned earlier in the thread. When I charge it at night, I'm charging it off an old blackberry micro usb cable with a generic AC to usb plug.
I'm going to let this thing drain out and die and charge it back up to 100% and see if that works for me.

It definitely helped me. The main advantages that I see with running the kernel that I use is the ability to undervolt & overclock it. This will allow you to run the same frequency that you normally would but at a lower voltage therefore reducing heat & battery consumption. Google it & do some reading & educate yourself on it before you make your decision. I am glad that I decided to do it.

AOKP allows you to change those settings doesn't it? Or only with a custom kernel?

Yes I think AOKP will allow you to change some settings around. It will allow you to set you min/max clock speed & your gov & scheduler. A custom kernel will give you different gov, schedulers, & different min/max speeds. I use Ktoonsez's kernel & it comes packaged with an app called Ktweaker. He advises to use this app to control your kernel settings. I don't think that they will apply properly if you don't. Also you can undervolt with Ktweaker.

[Q] Battery Issue into Crash (probably) ?!

Hey guys
I've been using custom roms for while, when i suddenly realize i have some Crash -
Issues with my
Samsung Galaxy W 4.1.2
Currently Using the Parandroid 2.99
with a 2.6.35.14 CM Kernel by camcory
It simply crashes after a while using it,when i reboot it it shows that my battery has maybe 30 percent or less left.
Waiting 2 minutes my battery shows 67 % for example when i try to use i then it crashes again... or even freeze... *sigh
however i tried flashing a new rom ; wiping the davlik cache ; and wipe battery reset , it still doesnt help...
Does anyone have an Idea where the problem is or better how to fix it??
P.S sry when this thread is posted wrong ,im new here rly couldnt find a topic which suit for this
(btw funny Im a noob Video )
greetz thevuhu
i think u need new battery
A good suggestion is you going pristine, unless your battery is fat, then change your battery.
My phone usually have these problem too, its 96%, I flash something new, wipe stuff, goes into launcher its 14%.
But mine doesn't crash.
Does this happen to other ROM?
Thank you for your help so far
im not sure if my battery is fat or not , well i have to admit it doesnt look that perfect anymore , cuz its slightly "blown up"
do u mean that with fat??
Does this have any dangers for me or the hardware of my galaxy?
yeah i flashed around 3-5 roms already... same issues with all , and it always crashes when i the ram usage is increasing , but as long as i kept my galaxy charging nothing happens at all...

Yes, that's a "pregnant"/"fat" battery. Check if you can spin the battery easily on the tabletop.
A good battery is not just flat, it even has a small 'concave' surface.
When your battery can spin easily on top of a flat surface, it's time to buy a new one.

Usually a Lithium battery lasts only around a year, mine is only close to that and its slightly fat too.
Not compulsory, OEM is just as good as long as it doesn't look like its from China LOL(as a chinese I do not feel proud, but oh heck I'm not from China)

its not posible to calibrate a xperia s(L) battery , it auto calibrates, if you use battery calibaration apps, it just deletes a important file, (which may have ruined your battery)
i suggest keep letting your battery go to 0% then charing to 100% , the battery will calbrate its self

It might not be an issue; when you turned off your screen, battery was being eaten away and when the screen is turned on it shows the change at that time. Similar stuff happens to the clock.
If you have messed with any system files I suggest you perform a factory reset.

Have you done anything to damage your misc partition? Or do you have a backup of your misc partition? USB bricks are very difficult to get past unless you have a back up of your partition. I believe the creator of 4ext recovery madmaxx developed a fix for the desire that could be used through his recovery. The main thing to remember is that your misc partition is specific to your phone. Not your model, your actual phone in your hand and if you flash a misc partition from someone else's phone it will kill it. Unless you have a backup, or some makes a generic misc for your phone model you may be stuck. Have you tried a ruu, and ate you s-on or s-off?

I'm on shpongle...There are frequent Battery Jumps, say for eg if I'm Charging my phone and it charges properly till a particular percentage say till 63% and then kinda stops there and when i reboot my device it jumps to directly to 96%. I unplug device it drains unbelievably fast
I did Some Research Over it and found out that it may be caused Due to USB Brick
Is their anything as such USB BRICK for hov ??

I also have those % jumps after reboots, but without battery drain... it drains fast only from 100 to 90, but it's normal

I was mainly talking about that 100-90 drain... but I'm sure that those jumps after reboots are caused by often ROMs flashes... script that is responsible for creating batterystats.bin just goes crazy... or something like that... my N4 is only unlocked and rooted, everything else is stock and I'm not facing such big jumps after reboot... they're not bigger than 3%

The more you discharge it to nearly auto turn off moment and fully charge after, the better it will work. My was a bit "wild" after I had like 5 ROMs changed in one day. Then it setted pretty nice, keeping up to 3-4 days with normal use. No weird drops, also goin 100-90 smoothly for hours not 2 mins

You don't have to stay on one ROM for few months, any of them need something about 5 full discharges and charges

That's kind of poor. Weren't you using it heavily during that time? I can hit 4 days on single battery life. However when I played games a bit and used hell lot of 3g internet, it dropped from 50 to 10 in like no time, 1-2hrs.

battery percentage

Hey guys, just wanted to ask you if any of you had had a smilar problem. Mainly, my battery percentage goes for example to 95%, and then after a few minutes it goes back to 97%-.. is this normal, or is it time for me to change the battery ?

hasn't happened to me yet. You'd better let the battery discharge completely once and charge it fully. Then see if it works or not
Apart from enoromous readings battery works fine.

stock or cm or aosp rom?
Stock 4.1.2
i didn't have that on stock only on cm and aosp
Heeeeey I started to notice this on my stock rom 4.1.2 yesterday after reading your thread :| But you can be sure that it's not a problem since I've bought my g last week so it can't be because of your battery age. It's natural. I think it's impossible to show the correct and exact battery percentage in any OS. To test, you can let your battery discharge to the end and you'll see that the end is sometimes 3 percent (the device goes off when it has 3 percent or more left) and sometimes you get 0 percent but the device is on Maybe that's why percentage is off by default.
I contacted LG and they said it's normal. Is it normal?

Yes it is, it happens on my device from time to time and I believe it's guesstimation technology :highfive:
What can drain battery faster on this phone?
Browsing the internet through Wifi or 3G?
Thanks.
3G!
