Hello Friends.
Does USB BRICK Problem Exist on out HOV ?? For those who dont know whats USB brick...Head Over to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691187
I'm facing same problems mentioned in this thread...Especially as far as charging is concerned
I'm on shpongle...There are frequent Battery Jumps, say for eg if I'm Charging my phone and it charges properly till a particular percentage say till 63% and then kinda stops there and when i reboot my device it jumps to directly to 96%. I unplug device it drains unbelievably fast
I did Some Research Over it and found out that it may be caused Due to USB Brick

Have you done anything to damage your misc partition? Or do you have a backup of your misc partition? USB bricks are very difficult to get past unless you have a back up of your partition. I believe the creator of 4ext recovery madmaxx developed a fix for the desire that could be used through his recovery. The main thing to remember is that your misc partition is specific to your phone. Not your model, your actual phone in your hand and if you flash a misc partition from someone else's phone it will kill it. Unless you have a backup, or some makes a generic misc for your phone model you may be stuck. Have you tried a ruu, and ate you s-on or s-off?

My phone works properly its just the battery issue....
Checked with various apps... All say battery condition is good...

I was mainly talking about that 100-90 drain... but I'm sure that those jumps after reboots are caused by often ROMs flashes... script that is responsible for creating batterystats.bin just goes crazy... or something like that... my N4 is only unlocked and rooted, everything else is stock and I'm not facing such big jumps after reboot... they're not bigger than 3%

The more you discharge it to nearly auto turn off moment and fully charge after, the better it will work. My was a bit "wild" after I had like 5 ROMs changed in one day. Then it setted pretty nice, keeping up to 3-4 days with normal use. No weird drops, also goin 100-90 smoothly for hours not 2 mins

You don't have to stay on one ROM for few months, any of them need something about 5 full discharges and charges

That's kind of poor. Weren't you using it heavily during that time? I can hit 4 days on single battery life. However when I played games a bit and used hell lot of 3g internet, it dropped from 50 to 10 in like no time, 1-2hrs.

Can I downgrade back to 1.26? My battery is at least 30% worse...

Hey guys,
Some of you might have seen my thread that with 1.28 my battery was worse. The advice it would get better after few charges. Now a few charges later my battery is even more worse.. I'm getting like a max of 2 hours screen time which was previously about 3.5 hours with same usage.
My screen is on 30% hardly use 3g no games and just a bit of browsing or Facebook. That's all.
Come on.. Two hours really sucks.

You can by downloading a costum rom which is based on 1.26. But without rooting I don't think it's possible to do that.
Just a tip : try a factory reset and a hard-reset! That might fix it.

and first thing i noticed was the speed of my device, it seems a lot snappier. homescreen, app drawer and everything, its still on 1.29.401.11 but is quicker, may need to use it more before i can make futher comments. but so far it seems if htc may know how to prevent lag on the one x

Did they replace the motherboard? There can be variances between processors and perhaps the old one was under spec. Some people have posted Quadrant and AnTuTu scores here that have been well below the average. You're using the same h/w and s/w as the rest of us so your results should be similar too. My phone feels 10x "snappier" after I hard reset it but that goes away quickly after I load my 93 apps back on and set up a dozen different syncs.

Some questions for wildlaurel first...
- Are you running a stock ROM?
- What apps do you have loaded? Battery monitors, task killers, CPU analyzers?
- What apps in "Settings>Power>Battery use" show to be draining your battery so quickly?
- If you do a hard reset, do you get the same results before you load your apps and personalized settings?
Everything that happens isn't a h/w fault or defect guys. Batteries get drained by rogue apps all the time.

HTC one x battery life

Hi I've just recently decided to swap my xperia ray for a second hand HTC one x and unfortunately the battery life is horrid, under 4 hours and the battery is below half. 3g is on 24/7 and I didn't browse the internet for even a second , only text and call and I can't believe it, seriously considering taking this back unless somebody can convince me otherwise. All I use is the internet and calls and texts, and if it can't even handle those , then how am I going to be able to use the internet ..

are u using a custom rom ...? if not then say which base it is...3.14 oder 2.17 ...
You might try searching the forum, there are LOTs of battery related threads.
Install BetterBatteryStats (search here for it and how to use it), and check wakelocks and partial wakelocks, should tell you what is preventing the phone from entering deep sleep.
i like the battery life of my phone very much but also think, when you are using a custom rom, the rom and the kernel need to settle and i think, this take a time.. try one and give it 1-2 days, until you see the real battery draining
Came from Xperia arc myself, but wasn't expecting tremendous battery life, tbh. That said, there's virtually no drain in screen off on any stock based rom, so it evens out. Haven't tried aokp, cm10 or miui due to the pretty horrific battery life on the arc with them.

mine hox have nearly 1 year, but no better or worse battery performance. max 1 day :crying:
the battery life of the htc one x is an enigma to me (no other word can do justice to how much confusion it's causing)....I understand everyone uses their phone differently but the battery life shouldn't be all over the place as it is. My battery is lasting between 24 and 48 hours regularly with normal use i.e. normal everyday use on my one x, calls texts, camera, finding a place on maps while lost etc etc
screenshots attached.
I understand a lot of the problems are being caused by the phone not going into deep sleep. One of the ones I pinned it down to was if you go into Maps and check the location settings through there...i've turned them all off (and i still get correct google now information).
If someone wants to try that and then let us know what its like then that'd help everyone.

well not quite sure what you're doing with your phone - in that image, your mobile signal is only on for about half of the total time? did you have it in airplane mode or something?
my battery is pretty terrible - actually shocking the past few days. I can't even get through a full work day without it being down to <30%, which is only 9 hours or so. I've had power saver turned on all the time, too. I use it a bit for texts during the day and that's about it - no heavy data use. so I have no idea what's sapping it so heavily. it's quite bizarre. even if I try to micro-manage my data by turning it on only when I need it, I still get down to 40%.
this is on a stock ROM by the way. considering changing to a lighter weight custom ROM to see if that helps, as this is just ridiculous!

actuallyi just glanced at ur screen shot and for u it might be the mobile radio. It seems like ur signal is spotty for most of the time. this drains battery like no other when trying to find a good signal this goes with wifi too
HOX's battery live was terrible at first. (ICS & Old kernel)
Now it seems that it has reached its max capability. It saves the day, but it would be great, if the battery had been 2100 mah.

How much was your screen on time tho? I could just leave my phone doing nothing and have over 1day battery.
@op you could try the battery calibration. Charge phone till green light, once fully charged unplug and switch off the phone and charge again till green light now switch on and use phone.
You should now have better battery.

[Q] Battery Issue into Crash (probably) ?!

Hey guys
I've been using custom roms for while, when i suddenly realize i have some Crash -
Issues with my
Samsung Galaxy W 4.1.2
Currently Using the Parandroid 2.99
with a 2.6.35.14 CM Kernel by camcory
It simply crashes after a while using it,when i reboot it it shows that my battery has maybe 30 percent or less left.
Waiting 2 minutes my battery shows 67 % for example when i try to use i then it crashes again... or even freeze... *sigh
however i tried flashing a new rom ; wiping the davlik cache ; and wipe battery reset , it still doesnt help...
Does anyone have an Idea where the problem is or better how to fix it??
P.S sry when this thread is posted wrong ,im new here rly couldnt find a topic which suit for this
(btw funny Im a noob Video )
greetz thevuhu
i think u need new battery
A good suggestion is you going pristine, unless your battery is fat, then change your battery.
My phone usually have these problem too, its 96%, I flash something new, wipe stuff, goes into launcher its 14%.
But mine doesn't crash.
Does this happen to other ROM?
Thank you for your help so far
im not sure if my battery is fat or not , well i have to admit it doesnt look that perfect anymore , cuz its slightly "blown up"
do u mean that with fat??
Does this have any dangers for me or the hardware of my galaxy?
yeah i flashed around 3-5 roms already... same issues with all , and it always crashes when i the ram usage is increasing , but as long as i kept my galaxy charging nothing happens at all...

Yes, that's a "pregnant"/"fat" battery. Check if you can spin the battery easily on the tabletop.
A good battery is not just flat, it even has a small 'concave' surface.
When your battery can spin easily on top of a flat surface, it's time to buy a new one.

Usually a Lithium battery lasts only around a year, mine is only close to that and its slightly fat too.
Not compulsory, OEM is just as good as long as it doesn't look like its from China LOL(as a chinese I do not feel proud, but oh heck I'm not from China)

Original is good, but the capacity is kind of small...
There's a thread in the Accessories subforum discussing a high-capacity 2900 mAh battery. Try take a peek there.

its not posible to calibrate a xperia s(L) battery , it auto calibrates, if you use battery calibaration apps, it just deletes a important file, (which may have ruined your battery)
i suggest keep letting your battery go to 0% then charing to 100% , the battery will calbrate its self

Its hard to know what can be the problem.you should try uninstalling greenify and observe the change.I observed without greenify phone usage is more but with greenify standby is more(thats what I need)
I'm having the same issue, but my phone is a Xperia V.
I have never calibrated the battery.

It might not be an issue; when you turned off your screen, battery was being eaten away and when the screen is turned on it shows the change at that time. Similar stuff happens to the clock.
If you have messed with any system files I suggest you perform a factory reset.

remove grenify.i noticed its a battery hog, instead of increasing battery life it kills battery life :fingers-crossed: i noticed the wakelocks and cpu awake less without greenify (nearly 0%).with greenify 10% per hour, without greenify 3% drain per hour, with same use.try it bro
