In call volume WAY too loud please help - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

My incall volume is so loud even on the lowest volume that it hurts my ears. I don't understand... any way to fix this or is there a reason this could be happening? I've flashed my ROM but can't recall if this was like this before or not..

From the dialer, go menu, call settings. You should see a check box for use extra volume for calls. I doubt enabling it will help your issue, but certainly worth a shot it to see if it does.

Could it be in speakerphone mode?

Tried that. Still very loud. Not really sure what to do other than deal with it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app

I experienced this as well. I fixed it by pressing the volume down, and then using my finger to adjust the volume down the rest of the way, then suddenly my volume toggles starting working perfectly (like holding the volume down took it allll the way down)

Does the ROM you're using have any sort of EQ enabled amplifying your speaker? ie DSP Manager, Volume+, etc.
Have you run the sound test using headphones yet?
Is it still too loud over BT or headset calls?
Lastly do you ever encounter the volume getting louder when you turn it down?
-- Note II, TapaTalk II--

If it's loud on low setting then all that's left is earplugs.

Download another ROM

Im running cleanrom and it uses a mod caled sTweaks. You can change the gain on any volume setting (call, music via speaker, music via headphones, etc) check your rom to ensure it doesnt have a tool of this nature allowing you to turn it down

[Q] Just got my GS2, Did I get a bad phone?

I just got my GS2, and everything seemed well, until I click on the music player...it pops up artists/songs etc...I click on a song and the whole phone freezes...screen goes blank, and eventually 5-15 seconds later it will start playing. While playing phone is almost non responsive...I'll try to pull down the notification bar, click the back button, home button, nothing, then eventually it catches up and does everything at once. Also, I had a tmo mishap and had this phone for a day, --had to ship it back-- anyways, on that one, when I did GPS test it said 23 in view, this phone says 12...nothing above that.
It is completely stock 2.35. I have powered it off 5 times now, and every single time same thing happens. Scrolling the home screen and hitting the APPS button very fast, the phone is quick as hell and keeps up, it's the damn music player that just completely messes it up.
I'm thinking maybe a bad internal memory card??? Any help would be great...
Thanks
I'd say that's a defective device, unless the issue doesn't occur with a different rom...

also if I have my headphones plugged in the microphone doesn't work is that normal... I can hear people but they can't hear me during a phone call also none of the voice search functions work while headphones plugged in
I'm using a normal 3.5 millimeter line out cable with no microphone in it to an fm transmitter. on my vibrant this works fine I didn't need a cable with the microphone in it is that not the case in this phone?

Screen Brightness

Was wondering if anybody has this issue with their phone. I have my brightness setting on 0 and no automatic brightness. When my phone goes to sleep it is at 0 but when I use it again the brightness is back on. I go back to my settings and the notch is all the way to 0. But I move it around and when I adjust it again back down, the actual lighting drops to 0 like its supposed to. This always happens when other awakes. Is that normal? Does it matter what setting it is on if its even a sleep? Also how can I correct this? Its annoying to always bring it back down. Thanks!!

What ROM are you using? Kernel?
Are you going to settings> display> brightness??? Cuz that's the only way i found it sticks to the brightness you set. I was using quick settings to adjust brightness but after looking and unlocking the phone it would always go to around 40% brightness. Tried a bunch of other apps and same thing would happen

I'm using Jugs 5 and switched back to faux 10u after being on backside for a few days.
Elflip that is what I have to do. When I used an app it would adjust ~40% and I would have to move it back. I wish there was an option with these apps to override that because its annoying. Its also annoying to manually adjust brightness at the top of the screen or even in settings.

Me personally, I can go for some motions, they always seem to amaze me, I honestly still get a kick out of swiping my hand across my phone to take a screen shot lol, if not that, some more options in the power saving settings, or a default settings to keep screen off when you receive a notification, not that it bothers me because I'm rooted and I use freeza's fregs3 ROM which comes with that option, but I'm sure other would really appreciate it

Is it normal for this device to overheat easily cuz I noticed it heats up quite fast also, when I have it charging and answer the phone the other person hears clicking so just want to know if this is normal or if its my phone and are these devices known to have external speaker issues or just poor sound externally?

Charging, my phone does get hot around the battery or if I'm doing a stress test it will get 'warm'. I can't confirm the clicking noise while charging b/c I've never been in the situation (don't make too many or receive too many calls). My external sound is actually fairly loud and crisp...

[Q] Samsung Glaxy Note 2 WiFi problem

Hello;
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Problem:
Sometimes my WiFi turns itself on, i turn it off and stare at the screen couple seconds later it turns itself on without me touching the phone.
When at home and the WiFi is turned off it says "Connected to VirginMedia (my WiFi)" and makes my signal cut out (Internet signal E.G H+).
Its highly annoying, ive tried changing things in the WiFi advanced settings and the mobile data settings and it still continues to do this.
I have done the *#0011# and gone to WiFi and turned power saving move off and no change :\
I havent updated anything recently and its only just occured

Amigo, "Sprint Connections Optimizer" is a system utility that Sprint jams in to their stock ROMs. You cannot remove it, all you can do is turn it off. I believe via Network Setting somewhere.
The theory behind the utility is that it checks what internet connections are available and picks the quickest one....the reality is that it wastes battery and does a terrible job at optimizing anything,
Oh okay, ive seen videos for the s3 etc its simply untick it but the Note 2 doesn't have that option I cant find it anywhere :/
