I use pattern to unlock my Galaxy S3, but my son played with my phone and accidentally input too many patterns and make my phone only can be unlocked by signing into google account.
My wifi and mobile data status seem OFF. I am thinking maybe it makes my phone unable to connect to the Internet and sign in to gmail. I tried to call myself using another phone but the phone did not let me go to the home screen to turn on the internet connection.
Is there anyone know how to solve problem? And if I need to factory reset my phone, how can I do it?
I'll be grateful if there is someone who can help
I think it works offline too

Does a hard reset also erase internal memory. Like photos and video stored on the internal memory?
It won't delete personal files like pictures and videos, make sure to back up your contacts though. All your apps and data on the apps will be deleted (however Google backs up some data on apps and they will be reinstalled when you set up your gmail account again.)

hard reset should do the trick. like other users have already stated, you will not lose pictures, videos, etc but you will lose apps and stuff like that.

Samsung Dive is not an app, its a website. You only need to create a Samsung account and enable it in the account settings.
Im stock (Bell) and it works flawless.

I know its not an app... I'm referring to AT&T stripping the "Wheres my mobile" setting under security settings... its not there. I have created a Samsung account on my phone, but because AT&T removed the Wheres my mobile and remote control settings I cannot use it... I'm on stock AT&T rom.....

Hey guys, this afternoon my phone turned off itself becouse of the lack of battery life and then it completely lost its capacity to connect to the network ( in order to make calls ).
Its kinda rare becouse when I press and hold the power button to get access to the power menu it says "airplane on" when its off really, even after disable it keeping saying the same.
Ive already restored it, wipe everything in the device but Ive got still the issue going on.
Any ideas? Please I really need help

It might be a problem with your carrier. So, I suggest maybe trying to go into places where there is really strong signal and try there. Maybe reboot a couple times. If the problem still persists, then contact your carrier and ask if they have anything to do with it. Because, I almost guarantee that's the problem.

I've already tried it without success, and even called my carrier and they turned to me the network was fine.
I reckon is a problem with the fact that airplane mode is turning on and off automatically
I'm so annoyed with this don't know what to do really

can you try your sim in another phone? or another sim in your phone
I have already tried both options, neither of them worked.
So the problem is with my phone but I'm really in trouble since I haven't got the guaranty of this phone because I traded it for my old device.

Did you try a different kernel and / or radio?
What does your phone status show in settings? Baseband, Network, IMEI, etc?

Flash stock rom, delete superuser or supersu, and take it to your carrier to complain. If the problem persist on stock then it's really nothing you can fix. You should be able to get a new device.

The problem is that I havent got the guaranty since I trade this phone for another old one that I had. Hope there is way to repair it even if it cost money
Surprising this is... I just cane across this exact problem today. I just removed my SIM Card, put it back in, then rebooted. After a little while I got my signal back.

Lucky you guys I havent found the solution to my problem yet :/
Hello, please help to solve this small problem.
I was using my HTC incredible as it is but now I have moved to a region without CDMA.
I would like to use it as a field PC for my RC hobby. I looked around and all procedures I saw starts with USB debug mode but I could not turn it on as far as my device want to be registered on CDMA before. Help to make my phone free.
Present configuration:
SW 4.08.605.15
RF: 2.15.10.12.20
HW:003
Will really appreciate suggestion regarding ROM optimised for calculation.
Thanks in advance.
Do you need access to a mobile network? That's not possible as there's only cdma hardware in the phone.

no, I do not need access to the mobile network, only need a powerfull "calculator" with several IO ports (screen, adc, camera)
I have tried now several registration calls, and ##778 - still nothing. Waiting for suggestions. May be its possible to flash it via ISPI or G-TAG?

If you don't need mobile network then why are you trying to register the phone? I'm confused.

Airplane mode? I'm also extremely confused - you shouldn't need to register anything if you are just using it as a pda. If it's an inactive device it should just not do anything as far as the network is concerned. If it's giving some mysterious trouble, put cm7.2 on it.

I think he means he wants to bypass the activation screen. Phone must have had a factory reset done.
Dial *228 wait a few seconds, then hang up. Do that 5 or 6 times in a row and it should let you past it.
Hi everybody. Hope someone can help me out here. I have a note 2 LTE and my whatsapp messages are taking quite awhile to reach me and this only happens if I leave the phone in standby for about 15mins without doing anything. After that, it can take up to 30mins before the whatsapp notification alert goes off. But if I manually open whatsapp, the whole load of messages will be received all at once. Network signal and data are strong and I am not moving. So I suspect it has something to do with the phone data settings because my HTC one x do not have this problem at all. Anybody can help me? Thanks in advance!
Are you running any sort of battery saver?

maybe you are using some apps like task killer ?
Hi. Thanks for all the replies. Nope, I am not running any task killer or battery saver. How did you guys resolve this?
Some kind of firewall or data management issue. Classic answer but i think it will solve your problem: just factory reset..

Does this happen with any other application such as email, Skype, chat on? If it's only related to whatsapp then just try to clear it's data, uninstall and download it again.

I have the same issue. But only while on 3G. When on WiFi, messages are near instant. Still no solutions :crying:
Im having this issue too with my two days old Nexus 4 and had it with my Galaxy S. Maybe its whatsapp server's fault.

Hey and no it hasnt killed me yet. I'm just worried about factory resetting that the problem might come back. And I also lose all the apps I have just installed. Is there an easy way to reinstall all the apps straight back on the phone if I reset?

Hi
So, I'm less concerned LOL
There is the Titanium Backup app but the paid version is the best, of course.
Then, I use the ES File Explorer app to backup only the apks, since it doesn't store your data (if you have a game, it will start from scratch) or maybe it makes and I don't know how yet.
Peace and Light.
Having Same problem
Hello,
I have just bought new S4 mini dual sim. was not sending much sms before, but now i am facing issue with SMS not sent/pending issue. SMS are not going out from my cell.i am using 2 sims and receiving sms has no issue. it works normally some time, but most of the time sms hangs before sent. if i do reboot then all pending sms gets send.
recently i removed Battery doctor/ Clean master, checking whether those apps were killing the SMS service.
please provide some proper solution rather than just doing factory reset.
