GT-N7105 samsung galaxy note 2 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

...good day,
this is my first time posting here in xda but i have been a lurker for several years already and glad the site keeps on helping me out with my android problems...
but this time..i managed to try and make a post..regarding her gtn7105 lte samsung galaxy note 2..purchased in singapore...
cause i just recently send this as a present to my wife..but what happens is that..when she turned on the phone it randomly restarts...after using skype or any other features
then we tried clearing the partition cache...also wiping data factory reset...
then when she tried to reboot...
all it shows is a black screen with samsung on it...then LINES on the bottom of the screen and does not proceed...
things i know so far is that it is not a unit problem
and i think i just needed to restore it to stock firmware...but i don't know how...can someone please..teach me or redirect me to a thread...how to restore to just stock...firmware..
cause when i try to restore to KIES it says device not supported to update on KIES...we have the same phone so i guess it is also...same to her...
but thing is...it does not boot..so how...please..help..

Hello, I had a similar issue, judging by the date of your post yours is probably resolved, but here is what I did.
While whatsapp was at the initialising screen that says waiting I went to settings > apps > whatsapp and saw that if I look at the size of data it increased if I went back to apps and then come back in.
I assume that it was just downloading something and after I let it do its thing and download it worked.
If your data isn't increasing during this it is possible that either your connection to the Internet was broken or that transmission from whatsapp was blocked in which case I would advise wifi just to get it to initialise.
This might be completely wrong as I was restoring a message backup and it might have been making links to the pictures in the whatsapp folder and restoring the backup during this time, which would explain the increase in the size of app data.
Sorry for my babble, hope it helps somebody.

Hey there excuse me but, may i ask how long it took for you to finish that "Initializing process"? Because i'm having that problem right now. Seems like ages to wait till it goes through the process. Please reply as soon as possible.

This happens sometimes randomly in different parts of the world...yesterday I changed my ROM and was stuck at initialization as well...had to use TB to restore data and then it worked fine...try again later and it may work
Anyway u might want to try in Q&A section as that seems the appropriate section for questions

Eh excuse me but um what does TB stand for? I'm currently using I9300 Samsung galaxy s3. I've reinstalled whatsapp for many times but this is the first time that this has happened to me.
Update: my whatsapp is working fine now. couldn't pass the initializing process because whatsapp server was down.

[Q] Bluetooth works but suddenly causes bootloop. Is this due to faulty firmwares?

Hey guys, I bought a Galaxy Nexus almost a week back but as its not launched officially in India its not under warranty and so I can't get it replaced.
Out of the box it came with ICS. Everything was going fine including Bluetooth file transfers. But the phone went to a boot loop (stuck at boot animation) when I tried to activate Bluetooth. Mind you that Bluetooth had been working fine, I got this issue all of a sudden.
I went into recovery mode and recovered my phone but all data was lost.
Later I updated to official stock ICS. Again the Bluetooth worked fine for few days and later suddenly went into a boot loop. I recovered my phone but this time too lost all my data.
Now I'm obviously very scared to use Bluetooth. Some people say that its a faulty firmware and I should flash another firmware.
What shall I do? Could this really be a firmware issue? And if yes then which firmware shall I flash and how to flash?
Currently I'm on stock JB on my GSM GNex which is unrooted and has a locked boot loader.

Never heard of this. With all data lost, do you mean the /sdcard partition as well?
I'm sorry I didn't get you. GNex doesn't have a SD card slot, right?

Correct. That's why I said partition.

Well this is my first Android so I don't know much about partitions.
Well when I wipe my phone / factory reset, ALL my data gets removed including images, music, videos, contacts, messages, calendar events, 3rd party apps, etc.
Someone please help.
Bluetooth Boot Loop
Im having the same problem.. Please let me know if you found a solution.. I'll give you update if I find one myself..
The list of Android units that I have encountered this was with
2 units of Asus TF101G and 1 unit TF300T
My TF101G was fixed when I installed a Custom ROM (Revolution HD)
I'm open to rooting my phone but not to unlock the bootloader to keep the warranty..
Hard Reset fixed it but after a few days when I activate the Bluetooth it will start with the Boot Loop.. It's very frustrating to install apps and everything.
Perhaps is it related with the files I installed?
Afaik, bluetooth radio is controlled by the baseband. What version are you guys using?
Im currently using TF300T
Asus Official WW Jellybean ROM
I think It's not related with the JellyBean coz I expereienced it with ICS before when Im using TF101G
The baseband of my GNex is I9250XXLF1. I am on official JB (4.1.1) on yakjuxfw.
Please help me, this is really annoying and I'm very scared to activate Bluetooth now.

You are on the latest baseband and Android version. And since you are completely stock and the problem also manifested itself on ICS, I'm going to say you are probably having a hardware issue there.
That's really sad to hear. And as the GNex is not available officially in India, I can't get it replaced either.
BTW you said 'probably', what can be the other possibility?
Well I too have something to elaborate. Both the times (on ICS and JB), the problem occurred while activating Bluetooth from Notification Toggle (downloaded from Play Store). It's not that whenever I used Notification Toggle did the problem occur. Several times Bluetooth successfully got activated using Notification Toggle.
So as much as I feel that it could be a problem of Notification Toggle, I feel that the opposite is possible too.
Another thing is that I had downloaded a paid app for free from a torrent website. Tapatalk to be precise. Many of my friends suggested that and I wanted to try it out and so downloaded it from torrents. On both bootloop occasions, that 'pirated' copy of Tapatalk was present in my phone.
Now I have purchased Tapatalk, uninstalled that pirated copy, uninstalled Notification Toggle and now I just tried three Bluetooth transfers with my system (2 send and 1 receive) and they took place perfectly. Is it possible that the pirated copy of Tapatalk was causing the issue?
I know it's not ethical and even against the XDA rules to discuss about such pirated copies but I didn't want to hide anything when asking for a solution to my issue.

If the problem happens again, I think you have to return it to where you purchased it from as it may be a hardware defect. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again. And I know you mentioned India does not officially sell the Galaxy Nexus. All the best!

and yes, it happened to me too. Its bootloop, then i took the simcard out, then power on again, but takes a long time, only X logo for more than 10 minutes. Then its going to menu. Then, well, i check the settting, turn on the bluetooth again, bump ! it happened again.
FYI, device not rooted, bought three days ago, and its LOCKED.

Is the problem solved for you? If yes, then how?
@Kanded: Can you please tell whether it's solved or not?
The same problem with me!!
Not just in the GNex, it also happens with me in my HTC One V.. I can't find a fix anywhere on the internet? There's no one who can tell why this happens? I change ROMs but still it happens in every ROM! :crying:
I use Bluetooth for a few days... and BOOM! on one day it suddenly goes into boot loop....
That is exactly the issue I face, exactly the same.

[Q] Help my Note 2 GT N7100 - Rooted

Ok guys and gals, this is the deal, i rooted my Note 2 GT-N7100 via Odin around 2 weeks ago, no issue, good stuff, infact the only reason i rooted was for Avast firewall and anti-theft options that come with avast as this was very useful with my last pnone, nexus...
anyhow it seened in the mean-time i was the last to recieve android 4.1.2 here in the uk, now im not useully impatiant, but curiosity got me and so via odin installed 4.1.2, though this was fine onece done it started up with the three logo, the network my sim is on, but the pnone was stock to all networks, so i believe.
A few days later still all is good, i was playing around with some apps such as Go launcher and others as Coldfustions android 3d ui tutorial had suggested on you tube, still no problems, just a little laggy, so i deleted caches as thought this my hep from the recent flash to 4.1.2 a week or so ago, well thats when things whent bad, very bad, cache deleted and pnone switched off and never came back on, just a red light next to the front facing camra, now, my pnone was clearly rooted with custom binary dowload @ 2, but strangly the system status kept switching to official to custom, looks bad right, what should i do...? many thanks ahead...:good:
Sds issue.
Can you tell the exact name of the file you flashed ?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Sad to know that.... but have you try to boot it into recovery or download mode? Try to do it fast after you plug in your battery. It might work... Do let us know the update. Thanks
Update...
...Well i took it into the city to a local phone tech who will forward it to a samsung tech who doesn't mind a rooted phone, will cost £20 and said 100% fix:laugh: He suggested that it could be related to the s3 problems and had seen a rise in Feb in this strange activity will be around a week. I haven't tried the battery in/out as suggested, will consider in the future.
The file was from sammobile/hotfile (N7100XXDLL4_N7100H3GDLL2_N7100NEDLK1_HOME.tar.md5) will keep you all posted... thanks:good:
Kk you flashed a sds bugged rom .
You should have clarified if it could be booted or not.
Anyways I just wanted to clarify that this didn't happen due to rooting.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
...Once flashed to 4.1.2 it ran about a week, then when cleared caches it died? So to clarify it was a bugged rom or the actual flash/download that was the problem?... infact I remember in odin on pc the usb cable connection icon should be green for good to go, it was yellow as I could not find the solution as to why and still went ahead and flashed, ran like around a week and then died, maybe it was that, im still learning, a hard lessen to learn... im hoping ill get it back by the end of the week still in one piece...
Can you tell the whole name of the file you flashed?
Sent from my GT-N7100
?
All the information I could get is on this page with all the w's ...sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-N7100&pcode=H3G#firmware[/url]) Its the 4.1.2 N7100XXDLL4_N7100H3GDLL2_H3G.zip im not to sure if thats what you want, if not could you point me in the right direction... many thanks...
Yeah it is 4.1.2 but does not contain sds patches.
Sent from my GT-N7100
Ok, not to sure what that means entirely, but why not?

Samsung Account update problems...

For the last few days, a Samsung Account update queue keeps popping up on my status bar, the problem I'm having though, is that when I hit it to update, my phone freezes for a few seconds and nothing happens. It clears from the status bar, but then pops up again a short time later. Its getting VERY annoying, and I need to know how to fix it.
I've plugged my phone into Kies and it says I'm up to date, so I know that has nothing to do with it.
Can anyone help? I'm not rooted or anything either, running stock everything.
I've been having the same issue for going on a week. It's gotta be something on Samsung's end, so as far as I can tell, the only options are to either temporarily remove our Samsung accounts from the phone, or deal with it until it's fixed. If anybody has a better solution, I'd love to hear it.
Sent from my SM-N900T
I've wonders the same. Only say update apps (Samsung hub)
sent from a Galaxy Note 3 Far far away
I received an email from Samsung saying their apps like Hub will be going away, and to transfer everything to M-GO (Which I did). They may be in the transfer process causing issues. You can try to delete the data from the Samsung apps, and try to login again. Maybe that will trigger a correct update.
Still no fix for this...Its getting VERY annoying
Had the same problem.. tried updating on Wifi, went through no problem. Seems the issue is only over cellular data
Thanks, I'll try that and see if it works

AT&T Galaxy S3 4.4.2 Wifi Off/On Wont Switch on. Please Help.

Just bought the Galaxy s3 from someone, i'm running 4.4.2, i've searched for 24 hours straight, i've tried flashing (4.1.2.-4.1.1) with odin, i dont have service so i cant use mobile odin, i've done the *#0011# (or whatever) I've cleared cache, delvic, factory reset probably a hundred times.. I checked out the kies and realised its useless in this area, I even tried using the Cyanogenmod installer on pc an got the app, went through the process.. it looked like it was working then i seen the green android with a caution sign so im taking that as its having a problem. I've even carefully taken the back off to check if the antenna might of been disconnected. I've youtube'd, followed to the letter to the best I could.
I also read that I basically cant downgrade since the o.s. is at 4.4.2, which the only thing i'm really worried about is the wifi. like period.
someone who has felt this pain and lack of sleep Hahaha for the love of who ever you praise HELP ME!

First of all, you should try and determine which bootloader is on your phone.
Can you make calls, access your carrier's data network, and send text?
