Multi window stopped working - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I updated the phone to 4.1.2 last week and the multi Window feature was working OK. But today I tried to use it and it doesn't work. I'm no expert at this but I think that long pressing the back button should open the menu on the left side of the screen. Nothing happens... Am I doing something wrong?

This happens to my phone from time to time the toggle will be on and nothing so I have to toggle the feature off then on and its good to go

My wife told me this morning that her multi-window had quit working. I found that she had the toggle turned off.

Members I am amazed on how, quickly we are to point out and point at...
1) Yes this thread should have been in the Q&A, which if some reported it, the Moderation Team would of gladly moved it.
2) Why the quick to correct users that may not be as advance of a user than yourself.
Maybe Members did not mean it that way, as it is hard to relay your message on a forum, never the less, being providing in a civil manner is best...Thank You.

[Q] A Dad's cry for rooting help!

My son always does my computer/cell phone fixes, but he just got out of major surgery and will be mentally and physically out of it for a while and I need help. Hi everyone.... ok this is the process I recommend. Write down in order the files and steps needed and to be performed. Its actually simple. To start u off, u turn the phone off. give the phone about 30 seconds to completely power off. The with the keyboard open, u press and hold. The "1" button and press power button at the same time. This gets u into download mode. Then just proceed with the rest of the process.

[TIPS] Samsung Galaxy S III: 15 Power User Tips

Hello members,
Every once and a while I come across an interesting article that is worth noting such as the article titled "Samsung Galaxy S III: 15 Power User Tips" over at PC World. There were some well not so known tips and great features that were listed in this article that wowed even me about the Samsung Galaxy III. Dont take my word for it, go over there and become informed. If you know of any other tips that were not posted, please do share the wealth.
Some examples are such as :
Save That Screen Retrieved from this article here:
"Take a screenshot. And another. And another. Taking screenshots with the S III is a snap—all you have to do is swipe the screen with your palm. So go ahead, take some more. And some more. And, well, you get the idea.
Other Android phones don't make it quite as easy. If you're using a phone running Android version 4.0 or later, you have to press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time"
Make the Phone a Flashlight
"Stop digging around your bag in the dark, hunting for your keys.
If you have your S III in hand, you've already got a flashlight. The Assistive Light widget—which you can add to your home screen by going to Apps, selecting the Widgets tab, and choosing Assistive Light—turns the camera's flash into a flashlight when you need it most. Some other Android phones have this widget as well.
Want to add the flashlight feature to your Android phone? Check out Tiny Flashlight + LED, available as a free download in Google Play."
Oh yes, here is a great one that I did not know of......
Wake Up in Style
Let's face it: We all have to get out of bed sometime. And what better way to face your day than to be prepared for all it has to offer.
Using the "Briefing" setting on your Galaxy S III's alarm clock, you can have your phone wake you by reading the time, weather and weather forecast, news headlines, and any appointments you may have lined up. To turn this feature on, go to alarm type in the settings menu and change it to briefing.
Not a Galaxy S III owner? Download WakeVoice from Google Play to get some of these features on your Android phone.
Regards,
A lot of those are pretty obvious now that the phone has been out for a while thanks anyways tho.

I can't speak for all the xda devs but I have been programming for 12+ years and let me tell you my file structures become a mess in a hurry. I am constantly deleting doubles and triples of files in different directories . One thing that keeps me sane is keeping my code neat and properly formatted.
Good work on this it is always a good learning experience to port mods from scratch but can be a PITA.
Than you for the mod. Very nice work and handy.
File this under "cool story bro", but... have to laugh at myself after installing this. Of course, I want to see what changed, so when I long-pressed to close and saw the few menu items, I was kinda disappointed. Then I hit the Restart option and saw "what the fuss is about". LOL.
At first, I was like "Dude.?!" Then I was all like, "Duuuuuuude". :good:

Submenus are added when powering down. IIRC, the screen used to give options for "Shut Down, Reboot, and something else", along with volume options. Now, when reboot is selected, a second option window pops up and asks which reboot option you want (see attached).

Apart from the arguing I REALLY liked the ROM but the messaging app was really messing up often repeating the same message somebody had sent me for am hour when they were sat next to me with their phone off. Tried to full wipe it and try again and another SMS app but nothing, any help?

Do you mean the same message shows on the popup or are you actually getting the same message more than once? If your getting it on the pop up every time that person sends you a text then you have to reply from the pop up or using the back button back out of the app completely and dont leave the conversation open you no, don't just press home, back out of it. I no if I reply to a SMS and leave the convo open it will show the same message in the pop up. Hasn't happen to me on this but it has on others I've flashed.

Thread cleaned.
Can we cut the *****ing, profanity and general crap out please... some of you are very lucky I am (or at least was until I had to deal with this) in a good mood otherwise they would have got an infraction for the sort of language they were using. Calm down and start acting mature instead of like a 2 year old who got their sweets taken from them.

I for on to not flash anything unless you post details, the people on this site are not stupid. But over all posting a few details about a ROM will get better and more responses, and more people willing to try the rom, and more discussion on it, rather than say
flash it I promise you will like it".

Dude I don't care about the responses or who flashes it. Its their if people want to do what we come here to do, flash ROMs. Their site gives you everything you need to no. So put the spoon in your hand and feed your self...

I flashed this with the clean install option shortly after you posted. No screenshots to back it up, but killer battery life so far and the only bug I found was Bluetooth related. (DAM YOU, GOOGLE!)
Thanks for posting this. Got me off b48. For now......
