I'm running the jelly thunder rom, question is, my s-pen doesn't work. If I remove the s-pen, the note pops on the screen but I can't do anything with it. It's recognizing the phone as a nexus and is saying that the program isn't compatible with this model. Anybody know of a fix while running jelly thunder?

Did you follow the directions in the OP of the rom you flashed? Im guessing you didnt. Also have you messed with Gwallet?

I dont use gwallet. Just want the s-pen to work.

I know the answer (I think.) You need to switch the build.props around so that your phone is not a Nexus anymore. Consult the OP on JellyThunder ROM page but you want the step where you switch one to build.prop & the other to build.prop.bakk. If you need to know if it is correct open the build.prop and you will see phone listed as SGH-317. If you see Nexus as phone type then you didn't switch them round. Also don't forget to reboot for it to take!!!
People need to read the op before they flash things. Yes change the build prop and your golden. Do not ask on that thread, people have asked the same question a million times. Read before you do anything or your going to have an expensive brick!

Hey guys, while I'm having a great time flashing ROMs and trying to become a fast expert I wanted to ask a question. I want to keep the stock Att ROM on my device just if I need it reasons. Not sure where I can get it and I don't think I've seen it yet. Let me know if I need to be more clear on what I'm trying to do.

What do you mean? Yes its AT&T and yes its usa thats the only place AT&T is
But here is a ODIN file to go back to 100% complete stock AT&T rom
http://filehostonline.com/xda/AT&T Note2/I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_ATT.zip
You know how to use Odin right?
OK and yes I do know odin but wouldn't using that unroot me?

You didn't maybe a back up of the original before you started flashing ROMs?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Hang in there, you'll figure it out...I had to go thru the same thing a while back, but sometimes the best way to learn is to just play around a bit.
Good Luck!

I have a bunch of backups now but when I started I was running out of space so I had to pick and choose what ROMs I backed up. When I discovered twarp it let me backup to my SD card so now I can do what I want. So yes I do back up but no after flashing for a few months I no longer have my stock back up

Yess... you said you wanted AT&T rom... BUt it doesnt take 1 min to reroot....
Never owned a Bberry, never will, I'm sure, but the lockscreen they have on the new device is pretty sick.
I've seen it for the Note 2 in a Rom, but it was only for another carrier...
Anyone know how to get that thing for our Sprint variant?
Check SlimBean 4.1.2 that ROM has it

Thanks! However, I can't even find a thread for a Rom called "Slimbean". I saw SlimNote and BakedBean, but not the other...
Link?
Edit: I found it, but bro, that's not for our device...
Nevermind, sorry. Just did some digging and they dont make a version for the Note2
I believe there's an app in the play store that gives u the bb10 lockscreen. Don't remember what is called but it came out a while ago

What exactly is the reason that note 2 ROMs aren't compatible with all note 2? If you can flash modem/radios and edit apns then why won't any ROMs work?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
There is more than one "Note II" some of them have different hardware or are cmda instead of gsm ect. There are different sections for each version so if you go into the section for your specific phone all the roms should work. APN's/modems only go so far but they can enable you to use At&t(i317)/Canadian carrier(i317m) roms and in some cases International LTE (N7105) roms
Flashing a different modem/radio on your device! That isn't for your device, then you'll have yourself quite a bit of problems on your hands. That's why they are different Rom's, for different devices!! For all the other countries!!
But look here!
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Enter your device model# up in the top right. And you'll see all the different Rom's for the different places!!

But if I flashed a Verizon or sprint ROM and while still in recovery flashed my modem (the modem for my phone of course)shouldn't that allow service for the phone. Besides that stuff what is so different file wise that they aren't universal.
BTW I haven't checked the links out yet I will when I get off work.

Ok what you need to UNDERSTAND is that if you flash something that had the modem included! Then you'll be looking at a very expense paperweight:banghead:!!! If no modem then possible you can take that ride??? But personally I wouldn't flash nothing that's not for my phone OKAY!!!
But do as you please to do, it's your device.
Good luck with your choices

I don't understand why so many people insist on flashing roms not found in our very own development section. Those are there for a reason.

gotcha.....I'm not trying to flashing anything that isn't for my phone I was just curious as to what the reason was that they aren't all compatible....thanks for the schooling lol

may I install ROMS from i317 to my european N7105 ?
after install I am agree to install my region modem/radio
I'm currently running the note s4 rom. My phone will randomly lock up and get terribly laggy. I was on the newest stock ota and decided to flash the note s4 rom. The phone still acted like this on the stock rom also. I've still got lag and freezing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't you think this belongs in your roms thread. Rather than in question forum. Go over there and talk about your problems WITH THE ROM YOU'RE USING.

If you read his post he says it happens on stock as well. So before Flaming someone maybe at least know what's going on.
Op, is there something that makes it happen? Specific apps, something like that?

Try to do a clean wipe and clean install again. It might help with it being laggy. I usually do a full wipe and clean install every 2 months, even when using the same rom, That's just me.
POWERED by the MASTER!
Ive tried odining back to complete stock and wiping everything and then flashing the rom. It seems to do it at random. A reboot seems to fix the issue for a few hours. It's only done it once or twice so far today.

I switched to T-Mobile today. I'm using my Verizon s3. I have data and can make calls and text. And I only get 2g....which is know is because of the radio in the phone. But I'm just wondering if I can put a T-Mobile ROM on my Verizon s3 since I have their service and what not. Its for nothing more than an esthetic thing for me.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Probably not. Not totslly sure. I know att roms are interchangeable, but the lack of anything about Verizon here makes me think you'd have problems. I'd stick to the Verizon forum tbh.

I think you can do it but you need to flash a Verizon kernel or else it won't boot.. I know there was a user here that tried it but don't know if he ever got it working

If you have to flash the kernel to make it work, you'll probably also have to copy over the modules and maybe other files too.

If we are going into that I think its best to just port it instead. It will boot and work without any (or that many) errors or issues.
