Hello everyone, I need some of you more experienced than me to give me a hand:
I have a HTC wildfire and if I turn it on normally enter into hboot, but I can not move them by using the vol + - and even with the power button
I remove the battery, turn it on by pressing the vol - and power and enter into fastboot and also they are also locked
I installed the ruu froyo, but when I reboot restores it hangs on the white screen co htc written in green
I remove the battery and start over as usual ..... all blocked
I hope someone help me ke Why Would I care a lot about this phone, thank you very much

Have you installed a custom recovery?
Hey friend,
Have you rooted your device and installed a custom recovery like ClockworkMod 5.x or Revolutionary 4.x????
If not and the problem is persisting with your stock ROM, you should contact HTC support team. Its a problem with your handset, get it replaced.
If you have ROOTed you device and installed a custom recovery, then the recovery build is not supported by your device. Find the correct update.zip file and as your phone is not responding, you can get it installed via ADB tool or any USb installer.

[Q]Recovery Issue

Hello all,
currently running Modaco's rooted official fro-yo update (free version, not kitchen)
so yes i am already root.
i have a hboot 0.83 desire with the SLCD screens. i have used the patched image and used unrevoked method to root as modaco's method would not work.
i have 2 problems and any information would be grateful.
1)recovery issue
while holding down vol down + power and then selecting recovery to boot into recovery sometimes i will get into clockwork recovery and other times the phone will just hang on a white htc screen (not the black one when using wrong recovery!)
it is lucky when i do get to boot into recovery using this method.
i have tried connecting up the desire to the pc and running unrevoked again (using ubuntu 10.04) to try load the recovery menu again. same results though. sometimes i may get lucky and it will boot into recovery. a lot of the times it will just hang on a white htc screen for ages and not boot into recovery. this is frustrating when i try to change roms.
for example im having an issue with this current rom so i flash leedroid. all respect to him his rom is good. but i think its loaded with a lot of apps which i dont require.so i require to boot into recovery and adb remove the applications from the system partition and the data partition.
2)problem with modaco's rom
maybe not the right place to post this and i would receive better help at modacos website.
never the less someone maybe able to help me.
flash player doesnt seem to work at all on this.i visit the flash player site. it will usually tell you and show you a flash movie to say flash is installed or if not will tell you to download and install, in this situation pointing to market.
at this stage when it points to market i get a message saying "item not found"
so this means i dont have access the the full market for this device.
i could on the other hand unzip leedroids great rom and remove all the apps that i'm not intrested, resign and flash, but again i have issues with recovery.
any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Hey,
There's quite a few people having the same issues.. some say it's because of LeeDroid ROM that's causing the issues, others say it's not. I for one am having the same issue only after I flashed LeeDroid. Since then I've flashed Open Desire and still having the smae issue.. never had the issue when I originally flashed Cyanogen.
However, someone noted that when booting into recovery.. do not touch any buttons or press anything until AFTER the SD check is complete. I tried this method.. and Clockwork Recovery loaded up just fine. It's not a corrupted image issue because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.. there's some sort of conflict somewhere.. that's my guess.
have you tried perma flashing a recovery using Unrevoked?
Thanks for the replies guys.
@Quazis
intresting that you mentioned leedroid. i too had flashed that and to think of it i bleieve i've had problems since then when i wanted to revert to modaco's 2.2 official fro-yo release.
thanks for a reply to the matter. when i boot pressing volume down and power into the bootloader, then select recovery from there, press power to select and then i do not press any buttons until recovery is installed. but i will try again.
@LennyUK
whats perma flashing?
i have flashed using unrevoked and i have to select a custom recovery image and select the SLCD image.
could you please explain further?
i have also tried to redo this process when booting into recovery failed using other attempts.
thanks for your help guys
i may create a gold card and flash the generic RUU with hboot 0.83 onto the vodafone branded desire and then unrevoke that in an attempt to fix the problem
hi guys,
hallo to everybody, greats job here!
I'm just wondering witch is the right recovery image to use with unrevoked 3.1, I tried to use the default one and when I go into recovery mode my screen become black and I must to remove the battery before going on.
someone can please help me?
regards

Well with Unrevoked once used you boot holding volume down and power
It then opens the HBOOT screen, wait for it to do its weird loading thing then select "recovery" using volume keys and hit the power button, the phone should then say "HTC" and should then proceed to boot into your recovery (I use Amon-Ra this way and then clockworkmod if I need it via rom manager).
I have not had any issues getting into recovery this way at all.

Hi Lenny,
thanks a lot for your answer!
...my problem is that when I do the procedure you've written:
- root by unrevoked
- holding volume down and power
- waiting till SD checks
- select Recovery by power button
...I can see the HTC screen and after that everything is black, the phone power off by itself and I cannot see any Recovery Menu. Than I must to remove my battery to be able to use again the phone.
I've tried once with clockworkmod recovery image and once with Amon-Ra but nothing change... I really don't know how to going on!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
thanks a lot!
Miniera77
Miniera,
I think you have the SLCD version of the phone. If you're using the stock image, it won't work cause that's for AMOLED screens.
If you goto the Desire development section, there's a tutorial in there how to root SLCD version of the Desire with HBOOT 0.83. See what you can find in there and I'm sure you can get it to work
Or re-use Unrevoked, it has the SCLD compatible version of clockwork now.

me too lol
i will try unrevoked again (for linux) and see if this looses my recovery screen blank or not. if it does i will flash the SLCD.img version again.
again could someone explain what prema flashing is please? lol
well just flashed
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...-froyo-pre-rooted-no-hboot-with-radio-deodex/
and everything works fine. except the recovery issue caused by the leedroid rom.
it took me 15 attempts to boot into recovery
got there and flashed this. and everything flies. sadly i had to reboot as i wanted to adb push some files from another build into this and well it took me a further 7 attempts to boot into recovery.
wish there was a fix for this

flash using the SLCD clockworkmod.img file found in the 0.83 hboot root guide in the development section. you will then see the menu
Just to update if anyone else reads. flashed the WWE 2.1 T2 for hboot 0.83 on and then re-rooted. fixed the problem and roots into recovery every time.
leedroid blames on bad nand sectors. i doubt a new desire will come with such a defect. but im not going to insult his work because its good, maybe not for me but its still damn good!
in the end ive solved my problem

[Q] :'( Please Help me Unbrick my Desire

Hello! I bought a used Desire a month ago & the reason I got it on cheap price was that Its Volume Up & Down buttons didn't function.
I rooted it using Automated unRevoked3 ( not needing Vol Up/Down ) & installed CyanogenMod 6.1 but then I reverted back using my backed up ROM manager. I got my android 2.2 back but then I installed Gingerbread theme. Now the phone boots & displays HTC quietly brilliant again & again not processing further. The only thing I am able to access is Power + back button bootloader menu but unable to use Vol. up & down buttons to select the recovery. The phone also get connected through USB showing HBOOT USB & FASTBOOT USB.
I downloaded the official untouched RUU & tried to flash while in bootloader but no result. I tried various PB99IMG.zip but fastboot says no or wrong image.
now I am still getting quietly brilliant screen again & again.
Please Help!
Am having following on my phone.
HBOOT-0.93.0001
RADIO-5.11.05.27
Android ver. 2.33
I had the same issue
My phone would not boot past the alltel image
I ended up having to go into recovery mode and push the proper build.prop through adb.
After pushing the build.prop I figured out that I was flashing a GSM rom to my CDMA Desire.
I flashed the latest CDMA CM6 and was able to boot.
Then I flashed MIUI CDMA version
This is also the reason I created a post for the Mods to create a GSM Desire and CDMA Desire subforum.
Becuase a lot of people will end up having this same issue
but in my case I am stuck with non functioning Vol. up/down buttons. Is there any software which can do an automated job for me while I am in bootloader & connected to phone through USB to Windows/Linux.
or else I have to take my phone for repairs of the volume buttons.
Finally my phone is back in working condition. Got the Volume buttons working by short circuiting them as they were unrepairable.
If the Volume keys dont work to get into recovery, try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18727288&postcount=5
It worked for me.

boot to bootloader, connect DHD with your PC and
a) flash stock rom and start over, or
b) do superuser, install CWM - CWR, do ENG S-OFF and install custom ROM

Well that's one of the perks of flashing a 3.xx.xxx.x ROM on 1.xx.xxx.x(4.4.2) firmware. You get to have extremely long boot up times and you won't have a proper working radio which leaves you with no wifi, data, gps, bluetooth...
Your OTA probably didn't work because of a custom recovery, not because it was rooted. Root does NOT prevent OTA updates from installing, though you might lose root access after the OTA.
If you're stuck at Boot screen hold Volume UP + Power button for 10seconds, as soon as the screen goes black press volume Down + Power button to enter into Bootloader.
Flash a custom recovery like TWRP. Go into recovery and restore a nandroid backup for your device.
first thx alot for replaying
i already got TWRP installed but the screen is stock on boot screen but still manage on the back ground to load my current rom as i'm hearing the log in sound of the rom :S
so i tried to power it off without seeing by holding the power key the power option pop up and touching random parts of the screen but i failed
i even waited for the battery to empty and factory reset the phone with no use
is these is any way even by adb to power off my phone
plzzz help
thx again for replaying

By the look of things you are booted in OS but have no screen, hence why try and hold power button in and randomly tap to shut off?
I told you already to Hold Volume UP + Power button for about 10seconds and then hold volume down + power to enter bootloader.
You can of course also just plug it in and try to reboot to bootloader using adb, if you have USB debugging enabled. adb reboot bootloader
As already said just hold power and volume up for around 12 seconds then immediately press and hold power and volume down. This will always get you into the boot loader.
However if adb is working just use the command above. Reflash the original boot.img and you should be good.

Use that to get back to the stock rom for your phone. Then after installing the right one, get the OTA

Never leave your device with an empty battery. In any circumstances.
Because you might not be able to charge it. Recover the device while you have some power on your battery.
Remember, this is a unibody device. It's not so easy to pull out the battery.

Cannot enter recovery mode

Hey All,
I have recently rooted my Xperia T2 with hopes of entering the wonderful world of customization. However, I cannot enter recovery mode at all. I have exhausted Google looking for a solution prior to registering here. I have tried everything from downloading apps such as Quick Boot to connecting to PC and trying the adb command ''adb reboot recovery'' and ''adb reboot-bootloader'' and of course I have tried the obvious of turning off the phone and then powering back on while holding the power button and volume up key at the same time. Performing that action shows the phone powering on with the Sony screen followed by a black screen where the phone vibrates 3 times and will continue in this loop if I don't release the keys, If I do release them the phone just starts normally. In all cases, that is is what is happening, the phone restarts and boots normally.
I have checked that everything is OK with the rooting that I did via the app Root Checker and and checked bootloader unlocked status via the command ''*#*#7378423#*#*''.
So, there you have it and I just can't understand why I can't enter the recovery mode. My main goal for the moment is to free up some RAM by doing the Link2SD method but without getting into the recovery mode, that seems hopeless.
Hopefully someone here can advise me.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
I can't enter recovery mode too... also already unlocked my bootloader but recovery still unacessible.
See what I did:
(DONE) - Unlocked my bootloader;
(FAIL) - Tryed to root by using KingRoot (2 differrent versions, one that I saw in a tutorial and the newer version - cause I'm using the newer T2 Ultra firmware)
(FAIL) - Tryed to install a custom recovery and as a gift, my T2 started an infinite bootloop.
(DONE) - Fix the boot loop problem...;
(FAIL) - Enter recovery mode and flash a Pre Rooted Firmware;
(DONE) - Searching how to flash a custom recovery again...
(DONE) - Installed a custom recovery (TWRP)...
Now I have another problem... wen a I try to turn It on, It only goes to recovery, and the notification led blinks red and then purple. There's anything I can do to fix It?
The very same problem i am facing now
I wanted to upgrade to higher version of lollipop but not able to get in recovery mode though i have already rooted n installed NDR utils BUT not able to get in recovery mode even via app
Any one who can help US OUT ?? !
I have same problem i can't enter to recovery mode by hold power button and volume + or volume - i try a lot of other combinaison but it doesn't work , help us thanks
I know it's too late for a reply but if u still wandering for how to flash a custom recovery first you need to install one as our Sony phones doesn't come with stock recoveries as mtk and Samsung devices have. Now go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/development/t2-ultra-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2823793 for Complete tutorial on flashing and downloading a custom recovery. I have installed it with no errors
