So, when I get an email I have it set to vibrate. My intensity is turned up to the max, but this issue happens regardless of the intensity level.
It basically just starts vibrating strong for a little bit, then it'll drop and "crap" out and make a low-vibration noise, then pick back up strong. It's nothing like the "zig zag" vibration pattern, but it honestly feels and sounds like the motor is dying or something.
To draw it out, it would look like this
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/__---_-_--?wtf--_\/\/\/\/\/\/\
No issues for call and sms vibrations though, those work perfect.
Anyone have this issue?
I doubt it's the motor since your other things do it right. Try maybe changing all options. Also try to add a second gmail abd see if it vibrates differently.

I have two accounts, they both have the issue. Tried changing the settings, no luck :/
Try uninstalling gmail and reinstalling it. Or try removing updates on gmail. Try to isolate the problem.

I've been having an issue with my ringer since the upgrade. It seems to be weaker than it was before the update, and this is a big issue for me. I leave my ringer on vibrate because of school or work, and it's so weak that I cannot feel it in my case. This has rendered my phone almost useless.
My question is, is there any way to increase the intensity of the vibration ringer? I don't care if I need to root or anything like that, I just want to be able to do it. I know if there is anyone that can help me this is the place. Also I'm on the stock rom, not rooted. Thank You guys.
I feel the same way.
My friends mytouch3g might as well be ringing when it vibrates.
He likes to say "The epic is too pretty to vibrate like that. It has to be elegant!" lol

Did you turn the vibration intensity all the way up under sounds?
Yea but that only changes the haptic feedback. I need the vibration for the ringer and notifications. I know there is a way to change it, there has to be.
Bump. Has nobody else experienced this?

+1. I have missed so many calls and texts because of it. I wish there was a way we could up the intensity on the vibrator and i'm sure there's is a way...maybe theimplare747 or k0nane know?

I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this. I took it to a sprint store, and the rep swore that his was the same on his phone. If they can do it with an update, there has to be some way to do it manually? Any help would be appreciated.
Same here, it seems like right after I upgraded to EC05, the vibration module switched to a different one.... It's like the phone has 2 different vibrating mechanisms.
EDIT: I'm on EC05 with SyndicateROM Frozen with the Twilight Zone Kernel, if that makes any difference
I thought from the title you were using the vibrator feature.....

Nope, just one of the many that are experiencing a now useless phone due the the lowered intensity of the vibrate function.

Add me to the mix. I'm sitting at my work desk right now and have the intensity on max... I just missed a text and its sitting right in front of me. I used to have it to about 75% and was fine. Darn update!!

So, shortly after typing my last post, my phone had a meltdown. Everything force closed, if I tried to swipe screens too fast it would vibrate and then reset itself for about an hour, nothing would load, the dialer froze up when I received calls, text didn't go through, etc. I took it to a Sprint store, and the tech eventually gave me a brand new phone. I took it home and installed the update, without a hitch. Everything works fine.
And guess what? The vibrate is just as strong as it was pre-update. I'm thinking this is an issue with only some of the updates?
Excuse me for my ignorance, but wouldn't the vibration intensity have more to do with wear over time than updates?
I assume that the vibration intensity, if identified as a software issue, could be updated and integrated with developer roms.
Granted, I have noticed the weak vibration on my epic, but this is something I noticed from the beginning and chalked up to dampening from the slider mechanism. If the phone has a case, it would also reduce the vibration in conjunction with a slider mechanism.
I have had a few slider phones (HTC Mogul, Palm Pre) and each has has significant loss of vibration due to a split body dampening the vibration. Of course these are only my observations with products and reflect in no way a professional or coherent opinion.

Im on the uvlh1 darkside v0 rom and cant find any other roms that work well with my phone. Its a little wonky and for some reason this is the only rom i have found that goes into deep sleep and gets good battery life. Essentially, i cant switch roms. My issue however is that notificarions dont make my phine vibrate. They come in just fine and when my ringer is on, they make noise as they should. I have gone through the menus and told it to vibrate so the "duh" solution has been tried. What else can I do?

What type of notifications are not vibrating? This could help. My friend had an issue with his Galaxy Nexus where it wouldn't vibrate for anything at all, so I just told him to reset it and it worked like magic
Text messages is(was!) the big thing. I went into the messaging settings and it said it would "also vibrate when notified" but when i tapped it, it said "never". Odd. Anyway I told it to always vibrate and it's workig again. Thanks

I find this phone to have weak vibration. I rarely feel it.

Any ideas why this is happening? My notification tone (the old spice commercial jingle) does not always finish playing when I get a notification. Sometimes it plays the entire jingle, other times it doesn't. At first I thought maybe another notification was interrupting it but it happens when I get single notifications. I then changed notification tones and it does it on another one also.
Any ideas?
Try unchecking delete old messages in sms settings.
If thats not it try some other settings. I cant remember the exact fix for sure but it has been addressed a few times on here in the past.

I tried that, it does this for other notifications also: email, RedditSync, calendar, etc.
I have had this happen before as well. Even did a factory reset the first time it happened thinking it may have been caused by something I installed.

Now that you mentioned that, I uninstalled Lightwave LED notifier utility. Lets see if that is causing any issues.
I've been loving my new LGOG, but having a minor issue.
Yesterday night and now again this morning i have lost all media volume. All other volume levels work fine. When tying to turn up the volume using the buttons on the side of phone, i see the volume slider but does not increase. I also tied to move the slider on the screen to increase, the slider moves but then after i lift my finger it reverts back to no volume. Both times i noticed, i was using different apps so I'm not sure if it is an app issue or not.
I reboot the phone and fixes it (really fast reboot compared to my last phone). I'm trying to recreate the problem but nothing so far.
Anyone else having this issue?

This happens to me. Usually if I have Netflix open, then try to watch something on hulu or YouTube while Netflix is in the background. Simply closing Netflix seems to fix it for me.

I do have netflix and could be the culprit. Will check it out and update.

I saw it once. Even went to the main sound menu to check volume sliders and 2 of them were greyed out. Still not entirely sure what I did to fix it.
I had the same issue. I would turn up the volume and I use 3 different music apps. I turn the volume up and down and it stays the same. I exit one and open the other and no luck. I have to restart the phone in order to get it to work again. I don't like the fact that the volume levels are too low. I installed the DSP Manager and no luck with the performance. I later installed Walkman with sound enhancements and it did help a little. Stll trying to see if there are other solutions.
I've tried to replicate but have been unable to do so. It has only happened to me those 2 times which got me to start this thread.
I don't know if was a fluke or what. Makes no sense.
Anyway, a reboot fixed my issue when it happened.
I've had my g3 for a couple days now but twice I've noticed the vibration will stop working. Everything is turned on for vibration but still no go. A reboot fixes everything. Anyone else seen this?

I've had the same thing happened to me twice. The only work around I know of is to reboot the phone. After a few times, I haven't had it happen again (fingers crossed).
Hopefully it stops then but I have a feeling it will come back

This happened to me once about 5 days ago. Thought it was just a fluke, but it happened again earlier today. After restarting, it happened again about 45 minutes after the restart... I'm already on my second G3... I don't want to have to exchange it again
Mine did this too

I think it's safe to assume it is software related. If a reboot didn't fix it then I would think hardware.

Keeps happening to me also every few days, no idea why.
Happened to my D852. Likely a software issue. I doubt exchanging will do anything.
I haven't had this issue on either of my two G3's, but I'm just tossing some steps out there to see if it might resolve it without rebooting.
Did you try the notification panel button to put it into Vibrate then back to Sound to see if it forces the Vibrate again? Also pushing it into Vibrate causes the phone to Vibrate as you do it. If vibrates doing that, you can assume it's a software issue and not a hardware issue.
Also, in the Settings menu under Sound, did you try checking the Vibrate Strength menu? Perhaps moving those slides might jolt it back or reset it via software without you having to reset your phone.
Just some ideas to see if perhaps using the UI might awake the software settings without rebooting everything to fix it. :silly:

Yep, I tried switching sound modes to quiet, to vibrate, to sound again; and I still can't get vibration to work until a proper reboot.
I have the same issue happening randomly. Has to be software related. Wouldn't stress much on it. I'm sure it will be fixed in a future update. Seems to be a global issue.
And now it happened to me =( I thought it was from deleting bloatware (Stock F400S 10k) but after restarting all work.... I'm thinking about selling G3 for Meizu MX4

I have had this happen once a day at least for the last few days.. A reboot does fix it.. But that doesn't seem to be a solution in the long term to me. I tried the messing with the sounds from the settings menu as well as trying different vibration patterns nothing works.. Its driving me nuts.
