He's gonna send me some pics when he's home later. Apparently has 2 small scuffs at the top otherwise is fine and has all the cables etc.
And ummm apart from paying by PayPal perhaps but you'd have to cover fees if you're worried. I'm not sure? But he ain't like that, he just don't need it any more, i set it all up for him too so it all runs and works good. Probably just needs the latest pac flashing by now if you stayed with that rom

if it does that would be great looks to be .3MM wider sooooo don't know if it will or not.
"Vibrant Dimensions 122.4 x 64.5 x 9.9 mm"
"Galaxy S i9000 dimensions Dimensions 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm"
Alright then. I'll order it and let everyone know lmao!

Ouch on the price. A very good full case can be had for less.
Interested to know how it fits though in case a replacement becomes necessary at some point.
Thanks.
I prefer going Naked with my Vibrant All it needs is the with google
The Google is a nice touch why not just get a decal?

pretty sure that .3mm measurement difference is just an error. there is zero reason why samsung would make one phone wider or slimmer... the vibrant even shares the chassis with the i9000... the forward facing camera hole is even present.

Duno but Captive cases wont work so just figured that was the same with the i9000, would be better for us if it were this way when the white cases come out.

The captivate is the most unique Galaxy S phone in terms of appearances, the Vibrant is one of the phones that is pretty much alike to the I9000 aside from the 4 keys and a front camera.
The captivate's method of taking it off is different as well.

says its not compatible with vibrant, i would assume if i9000 and vibrant shared exact same battery cover, then this would fit, meaning the one you purchased would fit too. since this doesn't, maybe the listing you showed won't either?
ps... why does it say unlocked i9000 only, what does being locked or unlocked have anything to do with a physical battery cover?
I really don't know. We'll see when it gets here.

Dropped my phone :(

It has got scratched on the back on couple of places. I want to exchange it in radio shack is that possible?
Please tell me you are kidding? YOU mishandled your phone and dropped it, causing physical damage. Now you want to take it into the store so they can exchange it and eat the cost? Go ahead and take it into them so they can laugh at you and essentially tell you the same thing.
Should have bought a case...
Sorry to hear. I dropped mine the other day and it doesn't have a scratch on it.

Wrap it in a case and learn from the experience.
Buy a replacement back on eBay for around 40 bucks and change it yourself.

This is THE reason places like Newegg used to have great return policies.
Just replace the cover, wrap the device in a cover and stop scamming the system.
If your within your 30 days you can exchange it. You might get hit with a restocking fee. Anyways if you want to make sure you get an exchange done, just brick the phone. Brick the phone to the point where it doesn't boot up. And then just play dumb tell them you woke up this morning and this happened. Trust me I work at Verizon I know the drill. The average radio shack employee couldn't tell you the difference from Odin and RSD... with the current policy radio shack has then they are forced to exchange it. Conclusion would be a faulty hardware. Yea its pretty low doing that, but I have done it multiple times. And its not like radio shack is my best friend, so your kinda screwing them over but they would do the same to you.

And the first thing they will check is if there is any physical damage to the phone...then laugh at you
Seriously dude, think before you ask a question and use common sense here.
yeah you cant get an exchange just because of scratches. 2 words.. large magnet
Isn't encouraging fraud breaking the rules around here? Not to mention illegal?
OP, I would advise you to NOT to scam the system. You may think it is harmless, but somebody, somewhere will suffer the consequences of your lying.
Besides, it's very dishonest. You're trying to get a new one by claiming a defect when YOU'RE the one who broke it? Come on, you aren't that much of a scumbag, are you?

[Q] Help: About to buy an HTC one X "used"

I found an ad for a HTC one X that has apparently only been used for 3 days, so it is sorta brand new. The seller is asking for 425$ and most of the One Xs seem to retail for 600-700$. I've never bought a phone like this before and I am just a little skeptical. Is there any possible way to be scammed, i.e could this be a duped/fake One X? I guess my question is what sort of inspections can I perform to ensure that I am not being scammed and that the phone is in great condition? Thank you in advance.
Yes people can scam you but this is a great community. You can ask for imei number and check phone recycle sites to see if it recognised it. Also when paying through paypal you can always raise a dispute if he fails to send it and claim a refund. Request photos of it wrapped ready to send. See photos before u buy with his xda name and date on paper in the pic with the phone and get tracking number. If its in marketplace its a good place to buy people are trust worthy here just request pics like I said and stop worrieng
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Ahh I see. I just messaged him asking for the IMEI number. I am actually meeting this seller in person. We are just going to meet at a local coffee shop and make the exchange so I will get to see the phone prior to buying it. Anything I should look out for/inspect? Haha, you're right, I should stop worrying. Thank for your advice man!!!

Screen flicker, gaps, 'ripple screen', scratches, etc. Might not be a big problem but you can probably negotiate the price down a little if there is any.

These are good things to look out for to serve as a starting point. Also, are you a developer or you just want to own this vicious beast? You might want to check or ask the seller if this was a developer phone before?
I usually do the usual bootloader recovery check (Volume Down+Power Button) just to check if the bootloader is already unlocked, if it is the next question would be if the phone is rooted. Alhough rooting a phone is usually safe in the hands of people who knows how to deal with it, you might want to cover this ground as well...
I don't know man, seems kinda cheap for a phone that's been lauched just a couple of weeks ago.Check that everything works,a friend of mine had to go with his One X back at the store to get a new one because the camera wasn't working.Check absolutly everything before you buy the phone, even look for dead pixels or things like that.
Ow,and watch out because the Chinese already lauched replicas for One X.

Nitro HD for cheap

I decided to go for another phone, so up for sell my Nitro HD. It hasnt been rooted.
Its in decent condition with a few dings on the edges and a small crack on top left (not on screen itself)which doesnt affect the screen/colors.
$15+shipping

Sad day, cracked screen.

Well, sad day today. A golf ball landed on my galaxy s3's screen. Needless to say, golf ball > galaxy s3.
Called customer service to see how much it is to be replaced, and with my insurance, its a big 166$. Ridiculous.
EDIT:
My brother works at a Radio shack, and they'll fix it for like 100$.
Has anyone used Radio shack before to get a screen replacement? If so, how long did it take, and did they do a goob job?
feet taiserva
Purchase the replacement screen on eBay, watch a video on youtube on the screen replacement. It's easier than you think and wouldn't cost much at all. If your opposed to that I would trust them, it's not difficult.

The 100$ is what my brother said, after looking online it actually ends up to being 329$.
I'm thinking I'll let T-Mobile do it... I don't want to risk destroying it myself..
Kind of sucks though, a golf ball dropped and cracked it as bad as it did, it's at the bottom, like right on the home button, but the crack went to nearly the top of the screen.
Did you check eBay?? I would think they were way under $100 for the screen.

Well I checked Amazon, I have Amazon Prime for free for being a student.. and they are around $15-20.
I just don't want to take the chance that i make it worse than it already is... I'm not good at all at doing things like that, I'd rather it be done by someone who knows what they are doing.
Also, they said I could use a phone from the T-Mobile store until mine is replaced, which is pretty cool..
Understandable you don't want to make it worse than it already is. Try looking for places in your local area, there are repair shops that fix phones and video game systems for a fraction of the cost. Some times on Groupon they have Groupons for say $60 for a screen replacement, that's always another option you could check out.

Yea, I will look around.. But I do like that I can take it to T-Mobile, and they will loan me a phone while it's being fixed. I'll have to odin it back to stock though. Oh well.
Thanks for the input!
Can't hurt to check around. Anytime!
Ontop of having Radio Shack doing it...it will void your warranty...to keep your warranty either have T-Mobile or Samsung fix it.

Well I called the insurance company this morning. They said $150, and that my replacement phone will be here tomorrow.
All is well, atleast it still works so I can use it until the new one comes tomorrow. Glad im getting a new one as well, instead of just getting this one fixed and sent back.
Thanks for feedback guys! :victory:
Well, as new as a refurbished phone can get. Any replacement/warranty phone that congress from tmobile is most likely going to be refurbished. I know because I have one and I'm very nit picky about my phone and always find some small defect with it.

Yeah, I have had that experience as well... Although more often than not, I end up with a busted camera which is more than a *minor* defect...
Asurion sometimes sends out BNIB devices but only if a) they don't have a refurb on hand or b) you've gone through a few refurbs in a short time.
I tried fixing my Nexus One's cracked screen...ROYALLY ****ed it up (just a little too much glue & ripped a ribbon) and ended up wasting $150 even after selling it for parts on eBay.
I would say if you are thinking about doing it yourself and don't have a lot of patience/manual dexterity/proper tools & work environment, don't try.
Also I figure the S3 is probably a lot harder to take apart than my old N1.
