Originally I couldn't find a way to fix the Samsung keyboard auto correct issue, and was probably because I wasn't rooted and couldn't do much software changes without root.
Yes I'm still being a pest because of this. Flashing different roms doesn't fix it, nor does flashing different versions or different keyboard versions of the samsung keyboard, which leads that it's not rom or keyboard issues, it's something underlying that is unaffected by wiping and factory resets.. Any ideas now that I have full root access? Billards I know you have something to say besides rage at me for being persistent =p
Only thing I got here (since I didn't actually expierence this issue and it seemed very sporadic) would be to completely uninstall it with an app like titanium backup or ROM toolbox etc. Don't delete it as that could leave traces behind. Wipe cache/dalvik-cache and fix permissions for good measure than reinstall the older version from ICS. If all else fails it probably wouldn't hurt to try the deodexed version of the stock rom. At least if that doesn't fix it it'll make troubleshooting a lil easier.

In the custom recovery you are using use the "format system" option.
Data and factory reset, will just only delete personal data and user apps, not system apps which stock keyboard is.

Hmm figured out something intersting... Themed stock keyboards DONT have the issue.. but the unthemed stock samsung keyboards do have the issue? sadly most themed ones look ugly to me..
can u link to a themed one?
Get Swiftkey!
Swype Beta auto correct works great.

...and it's saying that I need to flash CWM first before I can do anything, but already have CWM 3.0.0.6 running. If I select flash CWM within Rom Manager, will it adversely affect anything? Will I need to flash a rom again after flashing CWM (again) in order to use my phone?
ROM manager doesnt work properly with Epic right now. You'll cause yourself a lot of headaches if you try to use it

ahh...thank you for the advice
Just reading the title and you know this can get bad fast
I use ROM MANAGER on the Epic, I haven't had any major problems with it, except it doesn't like to quick boot on a few roms without a little extra push. Any way, it isn't really a necessity unless you get the paid app, you can do everything easier (and on the epic, sometimes quicker) in CWM.

I have never used rom manager. Everything I do is through odin or clockwork

Rom Manager doesn't help me in any way that CWM can't, plus it generally wants to install its own problematic version of CWM... If you make multiple Nandroid backups with clockwork, then you can rename their directories to whatever you choose, just make sure there's no space in the name (i.e. try something like Nandroid_Backup-1).
....can't get any signal. I have an epic 4g touch that a rooted and I deleted the dialer app via titanium backup. I backed up the dialer first but I cant restore it. What do I need to do to get my phone working again. As it stands the wifi cell radio do not work.
I hate myself right now.
BTW the name in Titanium Backup is Dialer 2.3.4.
Have you tried downloading an apk installer?
I deleted the dialer app

Try installing a free dialer but not sure if that'll work.
Place your dialer.apk (which is backed up by titanium) in /system/app folder and reboot your phone.
Hope this works
I guess there are some dialer apps available in market.. One other possible solution would be, get the Dialer.apk from any other same mobile thru BT and move it to your system forlder.. I havent tried but it might well work out..
What is the problem with restoring it?
You can try manually putting it back as suggested, but it would help to pin down why the backup isn't working.
Since your rooted download romtoolbox from the market you can find the dialer apk. In your apps in another rom move the file or files into system/apps and install which ever one you want works for me might have to change permissions hope this helps I deleted my camera and resolved my problem this way hope this help

First off, thanks for giving us more than an hour to respond. If you want speedy service, go to McDonald's.
Second, you did it all wrong. You should have just run an RUU. Restoring a Google profile in recovery should never be used, as it never works correctly.
No need to be brash. But next time give us some time to check threads. Sometimes I have to wait days.
System reset only wipes data. The original ROM is still in tact. You would have to flash a different ROM after you perform a system reset and wiping everything but stats, sd card, and rotation settings.

I think he means the proprietary files? And if I remember right a RUU removes root?

I'm new to this whole custom ROM thing so please bear with me. Okay, so I'll take it from the top. I first updated to ics. Then I updated the baseband to 72 using the Xperia Flasher by Androxyde. Then I installed the kernel. I got this one. I don't know if I did these right but I think I did... Anyway, so after that I downloaded Arconium ICS 4.0 and put the zip file in the SD card and then used the CWM (I think) to install it. Before doing that I cleared the cache, the battery stats, the dalvik cache and reset to factory settings. Then I used the zip file and did a custom default install (the first option). I did it and the phone rebooted. Now this is where the problem started... The touch screen has been acting wonky. I mean there is a little circle thing that you have to move around to make it work. I mean, I have to move the circle thing to say Settings and then click. I can't click the Settings icon directly. Is this a feature of Arconium or is this a problem? Also, whenever I open the camera, the screen gets inverted (180 deg). So I am completely out of ideas. What should I do? Are these problems kernel related or ROM related?

EDIT: You can see the little circle thing in the second attachment. Oh and I have an Arc S. And the bootloader has been unlocked (I hope)
What kernel are you using ?
And try reflashing Arconium 4.0.
I'm hoping someone knows what's going on here and can help asap...
I upgraded my Sprint SGS3 using Samsung Keis the other day and all seems well, except this one big issue. Randomly (it seems whenever I get a notification, or the connection state changes, or I plug into power)the notification bar fills up with the "Download Complete" msgs. This is an issue because I can't see legit notifications in the bar, and/or I have to scroll to the bottom to see anything.
These file names *ARE* for files I had downloaded in the past, but not since well before the upgrade. I have gone so far as to delete the 'Downloads' folder altogether, no dice. Also, it isn't actually downloading the files again, just saying it did...
Any idea how I can stop this? Rebooting the phone is not helping at all. Is there maybe a cache somewhere I can clear that would help? This is a new SGS3 (replacement), so I just got finished resetting up my layout and all my apps and stuff, so I would **REALLY** like to avoid wiping it to factory...
Any help is appreciated. Thank You... :good:

Happened to me too, I think I fixed it by clearing data on download manager. If that doesn't do it try clearing data on Play store (not play services).
My wife has exact problem on hers.
Edit; clearing old downloads WORKS! Thx.
