[Q]CM9 CWM 5.5 backup and restore

I don't know anything about the scripts in the clockworkmods but isn't the backup and restore supposed to make an exact image and then be able to put it back the same way? So if your phone is able to boot fine through power cycles, reboots, whatever, then it should also be able to boot when that same setup is restored through clockwork.
I am asking this here so as not to get flamed in the CM9 thread. But it seems something as simple as adding a theme to CM9 stock causes the backup and restore process to fail when restoring a this setup ending in boot loops. I have never had this problem with CWM 5.0.2.7 MTD so was wondering if there is something different in the scripts between the 2 CWM versions.
Can a DEV please help me to understand what is going on? Is it something being looked at? I know there are more important things on the plate but was hoping that it is at least known and somewhere on the agenda list.

Kenny, it might have to do with a boot sequence loop problem. Meaning, it might need some extra code in the boot sequence

Cartmanz, your question was answered in your thread. Don't use ROM Manager without setting it up properly.
As to the original question, the CM9 team got back to me and said I had to pull a logcat during the boot sequence. I googled that and it has to be done with adb while it is bootlooping. I will attempt this today. The CM9 team is awesome. We both agreed this is a low priority but something to be looked at down the road.

[Q] Possible Corrupted EFS File?

Hello folks. So yesterday I was tinkering around with my phone in an attempt to load the jelly bean ROM. I am new to the world of ROM's and things, so I made sure I did my research before going into the new ROM. I got everything backed up (so I thought), and flashed the jelly bean ROM. The screen just sat there doing nothing until I got rid of it and restored my backup from CWM.
Now every time I boot, I get a screen that says "Unfortunately, Factory Test has stopped" and it cancels out wifi and I have no lock screen/power off menu. I found a solution on XDA that said to look in the EFS file for a certain folder, but when I went into my /efs folder, this is what I saw.

So there is nothing in my EFS file unless I'm reading this wrong. And I was stupid enough to save my original absolutely clean version from EFS Pro on the internal memory which I wiped. I have another backup which I think might also be corrupted on my computer from the Galaxy s3 toolkit.
The strange thing is that from what I've read, EFS corruption leads to the phone being useless with no functionality. Mine is almost totally functional, minus the Factory Test coming up.
Help please?!!

If your /efs folder is missing/empty try this:
Get back to stock
Open Dialer
type ##72786#
Follow prompts

Phone starting to forget account selections

Recently my phone has started to forget account defaults, specifically in youtube. I will watch a video in to morning with no problem, then try again at night and it acts like I have never opened it before, asking me to select between the two Gmail accounts I have. It has come up occasionally on other apps like Google currents, and it has persisted between roms. It started on skynote 8 a while ago after maybe a month of usage, I thought nothing of it after switching to clean rom 4.5 (just trying out different roms). It started to happen again after about a month again. Between these two rom switches I wiped everything possible because I was attempting to clear up other weird problems. I wiped the usual (cache, system, data) as well as formatting my microsd card in the Android system.
I have not been able to find a correlation to an app install or any setting change, if anyone else can shed some light on this I would be grateful, if not I will flash back to stock and see if it happens again, then I will take the issue to ATT.

One other thing I forgot that also broke was the accelerometer. It just failed to give any values. After switching roms it came back. I dont see how this would happen, again no correlation to an app or mod, in fact I hadnt flashed anything other than skynote.

Just going to guess. Do you have this app that Google forced on us?

It just shows up after downloading something from the playstore.

Upgraded to 4.3 and now notif tray gets ghost notifiers??

I'm hoping someone knows what's going on here and can help asap...
I upgraded my Sprint SGS3 using Samsung Keis the other day and all seems well, except this one big issue. Randomly (it seems whenever I get a notification, or the connection state changes, or I plug into power)the notification bar fills up with the "Download Complete" msgs. This is an issue because I can't see legit notifications in the bar, and/or I have to scroll to the bottom to see anything.
These file names *ARE* for files I had downloaded in the past, but not since well before the upgrade. I have gone so far as to delete the 'Downloads' folder altogether, no dice. Also, it isn't actually downloading the files again, just saying it did...
Any idea how I can stop this? Rebooting the phone is not helping at all. Is there maybe a cache somewhere I can clear that would help? This is a new SGS3 (replacement), so I just got finished resetting up my layout and all my apps and stuff, so I would **REALLY** like to avoid wiping it to factory...

Happened to me too, I think I fixed it by clearing data on download manager. If that doesn't do it try clearing data on Play store (not play services).

My wife has exact problem on hers.

(Query) Casio G'zOne CA-201L

So it's actually a Korean phone. I'm currently residing in the Philippines.
I bought it from some guy here and all the network services are fine like calling, texting and data.
Problem though is that contacts are shutting on me and my signal bars are showing nothing all the time even if I can make a call. There are other issues with it too. Like on start up still says that I cannot use the card even if I can and the gzone app like the gzworld is not locating my gps and is still based on Korea. And there's this app Tan Tien and it's like the Vietnamese version of go sms and it won't let me update it. Says something about an error.
Anything I could do on it? Already has custom rom but it's like Vietnamese or sumthing and I can't understand it.
I already read threads about this phone but most of it is confusing and I just wanna start fresh on it. Here's the current build on my phone. I'm a newbie in roms and all that.

I'm also from the Philippines. I bought mine from a Korean guy thru sulit. I also had the same problem that you're experiencing until I installed the jelly bean rom. I suggest you follow the steps in this forum tinyurl.com/kan8h6o. Please also read the whole thread as you may experience some issues with jelly bean. Most of the solutions are there.
