Okay, so I'm really at my last gasp here since what I've read so far appears to be worst case scenario, but here goes:
I was trying to flash my S3 tonight, finally got around to downloading a few ROMs tonight. I went and tried Codename Android, but that didn't work, just loaded a logo for what seemed like an eternity and never went anywhere. Went back into recovery mode, restored my backup from CWM to try to start over. Here's where I think I messed up. After restoring, I went and tried to install another ROM (AOKP JellyBean) and now, nothing. No LED light when it's plugged in, won't turn on at all, doesn't respond. I get the QHUSB_DLOAD when I plug it into my laptop, but otherwise, absolutely nothing. I've been looking and it looks like it's seriously bricked.. someone please tell me there's a way to fix this and I won't have to get it fixed.

So while i was making a backup on twrp, and let it finish and rebooted back to the phone and nothing lit up but my buttons i felt the lockscreen circle and what , and was left stump on what to do so i dusted the old odin out and unrooted blindfolded into download mode and did the proper stuff into stock ICS for T989, and it showed for the stock bootanimation at first, so i was like cool, i'll let it sit and settle before i do anything and it stayed on the samsung sign for about 15 mins, so i did a battery pull and then back to square one on the same problem but now under stock, any ideas on how to bring the light back up, kinda bummed that ive had this phone since it came out and still survived me and i just got it new gear so any ideas could help thank you
the samething happened to me buddy. go to stock recovery and wipe data and cache. and you will be fine.
just fully unrooted and sent it back since i had insurance
I had a similar issue last night.. turned out to be CWM screwing up.. reflashed to the newest cwm and everything worked again
[Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100]
((EDIT: Suddenly, after leaving it turned off for about 15 minutes, it works. It just powered up IN THE PACMAN ROM! Still no clue what happened though, Would like to find out for the future))
Hello there,
My device was working fine yesterday, however today I re-rooted after an update. This went well and all was working fine, until I decided to try my first ROM, the PACMan ROM. I flashed with CWM6 (Following a tutorial, using Odin) which seemed to work fine until I actually tried to use it. I went to reboot my phone, and when it started up, it was (graphically) glitching, with the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo twitching around the screen, and a strange set of brown, thick-ish bars moving around the bottom half. Following a few seconds of this, the device shut off.
Following this I discovered that I could get it to stay on and boot-up successfully if I held down the home button (Not sure if relevant), however I still wanted to get down to the bottom of the issue. Following some research, I decided to try and flash a different download of CWM 6 for my phone again. This time it worked, and I went straight to factory reset then install the 'Gapps' and ROM file. There were no unexpected errors in this installation, however when the phone restarted, the same glitch occurred, only without a way past it.
I have since tried patching with the other CWM file that didn't work to see if perhaps I could use my phone again, but this didn't work. Similarly, I've used the working CWM to do a factory reset without installing any ROMs, and the booting still didn't work.
Please help I don't wan't to risk doing further damage, and would be perfectly happy going back to regular jellybean.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Thomas
TL;DR My Galaxy Note I N7100's boot is after flashing
So, I think my phone just bricked itself or something.
Last night, I installed nova launcher and started tweaking the phone like a mad man.
Any ways, today when I woke up, my phone was off out no where. It had a little trouble booting up I noticed, but eventually it managed. Used the the phone for a few minutes, then it just turned off on me.
Now, whenever I try to turn the phone on, it won't get passed this screen. It just makes it to this screen, and just turns off again.
I also can't boot into recovery mode or anything.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Was running Kitkat cyanogenmod just fine for the most part this last month or so.

If the phone displays that screen, it's likely not bricked. If you power off the phone or pull the battery, then boot into recovery (holding power, volume-up, and home at the same time), you can do a factory reset and that should be all it takes to get the phone booting again. You could wipe and reflash your ROM from there too if that doesn't work.
Like I said in the OP, I can't get the phone to boot into recovery mode. It doesn't get passed that screen.

Yep,missed that part. My fault. Can you get into download mode instead? When you plug your phone in, does your computer recognize it? You may be able to use Odin to go back to a stock ROM instead of going to recovery, to start from scratch.
Oh, I should also mention that I have a Mac. Is there anything like Odin or Flashboot for a Mac?

I don't think Odin is compatible (don't have a Mac myself, so not sure), but I've heard of people using Heimdall as an alternative to Odin for Mac. Latest version of Heimdall should be available through their website from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
Tried everything I could find, so decided it was finally time to come here. I was happily running CM11 for more than a year and saw that CM12 was available. Used the CM app on my phone, did the whole Windows part, the update started, then failed. Now my phones boots and gets to the first screen after, and for hours the arrow spins round and round.
Tried Vol+/Home and Power, the screen flashes something real quick and it reboots. When I try the same with Vol-, I get a screen that says it's downloading, but nothing ever happens. I'd be happy getting the stock Samsung ATT ROM, CM11, anything so the phone would work. I even tried seeing if I cold flash various other ROMS with Odin to no avail. Must have brain damage (exhaustion) because Odin isn't seeing the file it wants in any of the ROMs I've downloaded.
Thanks in advance.
Before flashing anything else, flash back to cm11 and confirm the bootloader currently installed on the phone.
Hello,
Ive had this device for now 3 months and never once had a problem. I did however stay on stock for quite awhile just rooted. Recently Ive been testing out different roms and ran through quite a few until I heard about the all mighty CM gem by Sultan. So I figured I would give it a shot. Went ahead and downloaded that along with gapps like any other rom. Booted into TWRP and wiped both the system and cache/dalvik. Then went ahead and attempted to install the rom. Unfortunately midway through it froze and my screen artifacted. I figured I would give it a few seconds and the screen turned black with the notification light turned on. I then tried to reset it with a volume+power combo and nothing happened. After about 5 mins of letting it rest it turned back on.
I went ahead and tried this process again thinking it was just a fluke but nope happened again. So I figured it was a corrupt zip file and I would just go back to the stock image I flashed before which was working perfectly fine. Again froze and gave me artifacts. Hoping to find an answer I downloaded the latest TWRP image and flashed the roms again. Same outcome. I even went out of my way to flash the stock recovery, fully reset all my data through there and then reflash TWRP and sideload Sultan's CM. Which I for once actually got into the ROM however now whenever I get into the ROM my phone overheats instantly and I get the nasty artifacts back along with a reset of the phone. Well kind of the screen goes black and I have to wait until it cools off to turn it back on or else it wont turn on.
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know how to solve this? This is my only phone and I go off to college next monday. Thanks in advanced.
UPDATE: I now cannot get the phone to turn on. No haptic feedback, no LED notification light, no recognition in windows. Literally a paperweight at this point.
The same here, flashed CM and Gapps...
Phone hangs on boot, rebooted the phone and now it won't go on..
