Due to me being new and never posting before, I have to ask the question here. I recently updated my Verizon Galaxy Nexus to the latest Paranoid Android ROM. My navigation bar at the bottom has seemed to disappear and become transparent. Is there a way I can have the navigation bar look like the normal one with a black background?
Turn off navbar transparency in settings.
Man I feel stupid. Thanks!

Hi just got text navigation bar icons from another users recommendation. How would I go about installing them?

In rom TwistedAOSP-v2.5.2-GSM you can change nav bar icons to other and if I not wrong with the text.

Hey can you share them? I have been looking for some for ages.
As implied it's rom dependant: it was in my AOKP based 4.1.2 rom Blackbean (I think it pretty much all AOKP 4.1.2 roms), is not present in my current AOSP based 4.2.1 rom (rasbeanjelly).
Dunno which 4.2.1 roms it's in atm but if present it'll be under rom control (whatever your rom calls it), navigation bar options.
I would love to have a semi-transparent notification drawer on my device ... one of my friend owns a GNex and i saw that cm10 nightlies for GNex already have a transparent notification drawer and i'd love to get that on our old SGS
you can get it with some ics roms, look around, and for apps i think you will have to look hard

Hi I've been looking for a theme or mod that changes the status bar icons to look like miui. Fits better when I do my home screen etc.
Also miui has the carrier text top left is that possible?
Before anyone asks why not just use miui..I would but my battery life is bad for some reason lol

I have a sprint G nex and would like to find a way to get a transparent or shortened nav bar on CM10. Or if there's any ROM or add on that allows transparent nav bars.

Codename 3.6.7 has navbar transparency options.

The skankwich kangs do have navbar dpi settings
Just tried 3.6.6 and didn't find the transparency options. Is it only on 3.6.7. I did not see it for sprint gnexus

Yes, it was added in 3.6.7, which was pulled for bug fixes. It should be re-uploaded soon.

Will the next nexus have a longer screen?
I have CNA 3.7.0 its removed by the uploader now :-s due to some bugs i dont know if the transparent navbar is possible in the early versions u can check tho go to setting > interface > navigation bar > Navigation bar color open it and type in #80000000 then click set then click the color to apply hopefully it works i decided to use 80000000 cuz it fits perfectly with the 50 percent status bar
Hey guys,
I had this idea that seems pretty obvious to me but I'm not sure if its feasible.
Is there a way to build a kitkat ROM where the nav and status bar are always consistently translucent (like in the homescreen?)
Thanks in advance

What is it going to display? For the launcher it is displaying the wallpaper. But nothing to display when you open an app. In case of Paranoid Android it displays a white bar if I make it transparent. And if you enlarge the area available to the app and add the translucent bars, it will block you from accessing some parts of the apps.

Isn't it possible to have paranoid androids per app color feature and to add translucency along with the background color of the status and nav bars though?

Better to run in extended desktop mode w/PIE controls to take full advantage of our 4.65" screen.

Some apps will, but most don't.

I see..so i guess each individual app needs to go ahead and apply their background in the navbar and status bar areas for KitKat devices...which should be really simple, but for some reason they haven't gotten around to it yet..it would make android so much cooler looking..it's basically native per app color that should be instant..
Anyway this is just mu thoughts on the matter and what i would do if i were developing for kitkat devices (which most major apps are already doing, but no UI enhancementa yet)
Thanks for the reply man

AOKP roms can hide the navigation bar making games and apps look full screen
is that what you wanted?
