Root and SIM Unlock complied by dataSaMm

Hi all,
It took me some time to get my phone Rooted and SIM Unlocked so I have decided to put my findings below.
Phone which I used for this post: Samsung Galaxy Y S5369, files for S5360 is also available.
Root:
Copy update.zip to SD Card
Turn off the mobile phone
Hold up volume key, home button and power button together for few seconds
Locate the update.zip and follow the easy steps
Sim Unlock
Copy Galaxy Toolbox to you your storage card
You can use ES File Explorer to find and run the application
Follow the easy instructions from the application to complete the process
I will give credits where it's due, please check here again later as I need to go through the sources again.
update.zip was retrieved from GeekDashboard.
Galaxy Toolbox was retrieved from Play Store.

Didn't find one on Sticky for the one I wanted, although the actual zip I got was from geekdashboard.

I think there are still many people who don't know how to root, sometimes it's nice to see the same information in a different point of view which can enable a person to try again.

I found many threads with too much information which just overloads a user. I kept this thread to minimal, plus another reason for creating this post was because my model was different compared to the standard model that everyone else got in UK.
Anyway, this post was intended to help people.

Well that makes sense but when a phone has been around as much as the SGY this issue gets tackled alot first root comes (probably b4 the phone is even released) but the original post might be confusing so someone dumbs it down and that continues the longer a phone is out the more treads for that issue pop up....BUT and u should have put that in your tread relating to the UK thing since I know with my phone (s5360l) there isn't a tread on rooting it off u search you'll find the file for s5360 which didn't work in my phone how I found the file was by happenstance viewing a tread on s5360 and someone happened to have a s5360l and got someone to convert the file to s5360l and post it but other than that single comment on a tread there's no root information on my phone I've wanted to start a tread for a while but problem is I can't remember the guy's name who converted it not to mention that for a period I was on s5360 firmware so I also have the s5360 and the s5360l update file and I don't know which 1 is the correct file lol

Hi, thanks for the easy guide, is the unlock permanent or does lock again if using the software update option on the phone?

unlock is permanent but i think its better to use the unlocker from the real developer u can find the newest one in playstore.

Help with 3G or H of GT 5360L

Good Morning Hello friends, I'm a little new to the forum, this time I need a little help: I have a problem with my Galaxy Y, a few days ago a SoftBrick I recovered, I made a flashing by ODIN but lost the 3G or H, I wonder if it is possible to regain the 3G or H and how to do it ... I have tried several methods (which I found in cyberspace, but none has worked for me, thank them infinitely if possible .......

try flashing CSC for your region

I have ur same phone and suffered the same problem to fix simply re-flash stock Rom from your region

Go to that link there are many different stock roms from many different regions download and flash 1 from the region where you live and your problem will be solved

hi i have the same problem with my GT-S5360L which is related to other problem that is other some network providers works and the other not works and the mobile shows "emergency calls only" ... I re-flash stock Rom for my region "MIDDLE EAST and AFRICA (Sudan)" 3 times with different stock rom and it doesn't work (there is no stock rom for sudan but i tried this middle east rom) ... i actually tried everything i found in the internet but with no result... i ask Samsung local deputy and they said this version of galaxy y is made for other country and i have to do some software trick and they cant do it before of the company terms... help please {sorry for my english}

Go here and tell the guy about your problem he will make 1 for u if there isn't 1 you could also pm him there also another way where u could make u own Google spiltFUS I've never used it personally but it's something to try

Too many views but no reply.. Hmm lets flame the JTAG service.. Maybe some of ****ers hard bricked their fones. And goin to jtag service. Yea after jtag its fix. This thing i hate after JTAG. youll get error in apps sometimes. You cant upgrade downgrade firmwares. Your firmware version is permanent. Am i right.?

Let's start...
My tablet run 4.2.2 when i bought it.Cause i didnt like it i rooted it , i intalled cmw and then cm11.Cause i didnt like it again i deleted cmw and via odin i made the mistake and installed official kitkat 4.4.2 from sammobile xxubni1.All are ok except 1 thing...BATTERY....Before the update the tablet had the best batt lufe i had ever seen.i enjoyed it sooo much...i loved my tablet..Now it lasts only 1 day and it is draining too fast...i payed 250 € for it and i want still to enjoy it but i need your help.If downgrade is not necessery suggest me solutions...don't tell me brightness and all these ..i know about them...i need a solution to my problem....Except the battery there is no other problem but i liked 4.2.2 more.
I have heard about knox and bootloaders and all these but although i know much about smartphones roms recoveries and all these , ididnt understand them...
I need help asap and i forgot to say that my tablet is under warranty for 2 years from now..so i need warranty.
I am from greece and i have a certificate in English but dont explain me with so difficult words...i need to understand you.

1st- how to unclock bootloader?
2nd - plz give me the latest link of twrp version
3rd- i want to root my device
4th - using stock rom .. i m from india .. i want to root my stock rom and want to install twrp
5th- where i can find offical stock rom downloading lin plz give me the link
6th- before rooting or before unlocking bootloader .what i have to backup ?? coz i dont want lose iemi ..in samsung we backup efs to backups the imi
7th- what adbs software need ? and what flashing application i need to root? .... to unclock bootloader?..what backup tolls i need to this stuff .. and what usb driver i need to doing this stuff ?? plz share all links with latest version ... we use odin apps to flash samsung offical firmaware ...

Same questions I have and u can't see a development section. On Tapatalk app for some reason
I used to root and install ROMs all the time with my old zte blade, not felt the need to not recently, but have rooted my smart ultra 6 which has a locked bootloader (which 2bh I am not sure what this is or what it does) and getting my op3 shortly and will look to root it mainly for app data restore off titanium backup.
Used to seeing a sticky guide for these things but can't seem to find anything for the op3

took 3 posts to finally help the guy, This guy right that i qouted here is the what we need in the world, people are new at stuff and need to be pointed in the right direction, so instead of being like a walmart or best buy employer and saying "oh its right over there somewhere." Just actually help the guy like this guy. You people were all new at this at one point and this is why the world is going to ****, b/c 1 out of 4 people who responded was not lazy and posted link and offered more help, this is what this community is about, not to just say oh do a search for it. Come on people stop being lazy and just help out, if u don't want to then stfu

I would've posted links but it's not so simple on app, also if you can't be bothered to search and read on complex topics, which might result in you destroying your expensive phone, maybe you shouldn't be undertaking them.
What's wrong with today's society is people expect everything handed to them on a plate, with little or Jo effort on their part.

+1. I agree. People can't be expected to be spoon fed all the time. Just search it! It's that simple.

What else could we expect from a user (OP) whose nickname seems mispelled?
