Is there a way to have Music recognize the album covers I have within my music album folders?
Or have it display the album cover as selected by an Album Art app such as "Album Art Grabber"?
(I'm only interested in songs on my device, not stored in the cloud)
Get donate version of cover art downloader, it will embed cover art into music mp3 so art stays with songs, you can convert other formats such as itunes m4a to mp3 on a windows computer using a converter if your music isnt all in mp3 format.
Once the cover art downloader has done its job (may take a while if music collection is large) and you have used app to manually find and set any covers the auto search function couldnt find, do the following to reset cover art in google music:
Go into settings-apps and select google play music app.
Delete cache and data.
Be aware this will wipe any custom playlists u already made, dunno how to save them.
Reboot phone now.
Once phone has rebooted start google music app and give it a short while as music plus covers is reloaded, now you should have all your art in place and portable with your music.
If you havent tried it yet there is a mod in gnex themes and apps forum for beatslouder for nexus, in flashable zip form, makes huge difference to sound quality, i used nexuslouder V6 beta zip as am on aospa rom.

Just why is this happening? Some foreign songs as well as local (Original Pilipino Music) show the wrong album art. For example, a local song shows album art of Celine Dion's ALL THE WAY album. Help!
Get PlayerPRO,the song quality is way higher than PAMP and there is DSP pack (DOLBY SOUND PLUGIN!) for PPro,skins,BEAUTIFUL ui,and AUTOMATIC album art!
I had both,and believe me.Player PRO > popular PowerAMP

There is no difference between the two in sound quality; the DSP pack is nothing but extra codecs and effects (Dolby Sound alters the sound into something else then what was originally recorded. It's just a special effect). UI is personal preference and power amp has always had automatic album art.
If you're having problems with album art in power amp check your settings. There's a check box to download album art, over ride album art in the ID3 tag, and you can delete your album art cache if there are one that are wrong.
If you're still having issues with album art try MP3 Tagger Pro: https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mobile.pro&feature=search_result The easy album art finder will automatically scan all your music and shows you albums that are missing art. It will prompt you with a gallery type view where you can hand pick the album art, starting with the most relevant search results it finds. Most times the first result is correct but every once in awhile I have to go with the second or third. This is the problem with most automatic album art, they always go with the first result which isn't always correct.
thanks for the answer pal!
but why is it also happening with the stock Music Player? I'd like to go with stock at the moment...
but at least post something useful and not some random posts that are nothing but empty nutshell.. come on there's like thousands of threads here.. make yourself useful!
Hi all,
I would like to add cd covers to my album, how can I do it?
I have original CDs and I encoded it in MP3 but my gnex don't show me the covers.
How can I add the covers?
Thanks.
if you have the right tags for your song (artist, album name etc) then you can get an app from the market that downloads the covers automatically. i recommend cover art downloader, it gives you the ability to remove covert art if it found the wrong one. There are a lot of these apps on the market, try it out and see what you like

I downloaded cover art, paid for it, I went in settings and selected to write the cover in the ID3 tag.
I can see the cover in the cover art app, but my GNEX doesn't see the cover when I open google music, why?
Use something like media monkey to rip and tag your CD collection.

You can only add album art to local music files in Google Music, or you can do it through the website "music.google.com".
sorry, i thought you were talking about local music. If you are doing cloud music you must change it on the google music website

I'm talking about local music.
Media monkey can also help you clean up your existing collection using tag from web feature. Pulls data and art from amazon I think.

you will need to manage your ID3.
most of the time, mp3 has alot of version ID2, ID3 APE etc etc tags on them, and the player will only choose one to use.
i use mp3tag to clean them, then put on the album art.
works great.
OK so I'm getting kinda cheesed off with Google play music and the album art displayed. So I got 3 id3 apps, audiotagger 4.0.0, itag 1.50, and pimp my music 1.49. I'm trying to get a decent high resolution album art to stick on my MP3 albums. Iv used all 3 to try to remove any album art that's seems to be stuck to the MP3 files and then used all 3 to set the album art I want either from searching on the internet or select a picture saved to my gallery. I even went as far as deleting some 1156 pictures of the same low res album art which keeps reappearing. So for a while Google play music will show the high res album art and its great but after a while it goes back to low resolution album art which is all pixilated and stuff.
So anyone know how this could be sorted out?

I was able to do it by modifying the cover art from my PC. Opened Play in my web browser and went to My Music. Then picked the album and modified the album info. It let me change to a better pic. So far, the higher-res pics seem to have stuck. Hope they don't spontaneously revert.

OK great album seems to be sticking now, that particular album I got up on Google play music server and on my device.
I just can't get id3 genre tag to change for the on device music. I did already try with Google play music and its showing correct for what's 'in the cloud' but on device copy won't change, its being a little bastard. I tried the same 3 apps as mentioned before. Any ideas? Maybe they don't work so well with jelly bean?

I deleted the copy from my device and just downloaded it from Google play server and all is well. I get ocd about my music lol

i have Adrenaline ROM, it has Google Music but it does not show my Embedded Album Art on any mp3, m4a, & mp4 files.
it does work in PowerAmp & TTPod music player,
it was working in my previous Stock Based SanGinger Ace stock Music player, but when i installed Stock Music player on Adrenaline ROM it didn't work.
which Google Music player or Stock Based player is your Embedded Album Art working ???
Tries clear data of Google Music app and later edit album covers of your mp3 files with "AudioTagger" app in Google Play.

my all music is tagged very well from PC foobar2000 music player app,
i dont want to ecit my Tags or Album Art, i just want to see it in my music player app in Ginger bread android.
on cm7.2 music player shows art in art cm7 based ROM,
but cm7.2 music player does not shows it in Stock based ROM why?
Hi,
Does anyone use N7 Player as a default music player?
If so, I was wondering if anyone knows how to display music that do not yet have an album tag filled in for the mp3 file..
I do not want to, and I do not plan on using any album tag downloading apps. (And also, these apps probably won't even help me because 99% of my songs are not English songs)
I am going through this exercise manually to ensure all my music files have 100% accurate album names, but until then, I still want to be able to see all my music in N7 Player... Any pro tips?
Also, another thing I want to ask is, whenever I add an album art to an mp3 file, I cannot seem to have the music player (ANY music player, not just N7) to show the updated album art... The only way I know how to refresh the album art is to reboot my phone, insert my music files, and then reboot again. (Even then, sometimes this doesn't work..)
Any help is greatly appreciated!
