Stock Player/PowerAMP showing WRONG ALBUM ART - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just why is this happening? Some foreign songs as well as local (Original Pilipino Music) show the wrong album art. For example, a local song shows album art of Celine Dion's ALL THE WAY album. Help!

Get PlayerPRO,the song quality is way higher than PAMP and there is DSP pack (DOLBY SOUND PLUGIN!) for PPro,skins,BEAUTIFUL ui,and AUTOMATIC album art!
I had both,and believe me.Player PRO > popular PowerAMP

There is no difference between the two in sound quality; the DSP pack is nothing but extra codecs and effects (Dolby Sound alters the sound into something else then what was originally recorded. It's just a special effect). UI is personal preference and power amp has always had automatic album art.
If you're having problems with album art in power amp check your settings. There's a check box to download album art, over ride album art in the ID3 tag, and you can delete your album art cache if there are one that are wrong.
If you're still having issues with album art try MP3 Tagger Pro: https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mobile.pro&feature=search_result The easy album art finder will automatically scan all your music and shows you albums that are missing art. It will prompt you with a gallery type view where you can hand pick the album art, starting with the most relevant search results it finds. Most times the first result is correct but every once in awhile I have to go with the second or third. This is the problem with most automatic album art, they always go with the first result which isn't always correct.

thanks for the answer pal!
but why is it also happening with the stock Music Player? I'd like to go with stock at the moment...

but at least post something useful and not some random posts that are nothing but empty nutshell.. come on there's like thousands of threads here.. make yourself useful!

[Q] Evo music player displays items incorrectly

My Evo refuses to display the albums for my music.
All my music is correctly tagged with tab and Rename.
I have essentially coppied all my music over from my MP3 player (where everything displays fine) onto my phone.
Here is the issue when i go to the 'Albums" selection in the music player it displays one album name for every song of that album.
For example. if I have an album with 13 songs in it it will show me 13 different selections with the name of the album as opposed to one selection that I can select and have all 13 songs show up.
This problem happens on Winamp as well as the stock player.
What is my problem?

If it happens with more than one player, then likely your problem is the id3 tags on the mp3s.
Thanks for the reply but I am meticulous with my tags. I have used these same songs on probably 4 devices in the last four years (Sandisk Sansa, 2x Ainol V9000HDA, Palm Pre) and they always displayed fine.
Something else is amiss.
It doesn't make sense for it to display the same album name over a dozen times for each album.

google play album pic doesn't change

i don't know if this is normal of not - when i use google play (downloaded from play store) and the album cover pic doesn't change. if it switch between artists (different "folder") it will change, but if i have 1 artist with like multiple albums it won't change album picture. and yes i'm sure the song has an album art attached
refer to sig for my phone specs

Yes, it is normal. This means, that the music files (MP3, M4A, 3GP, WMA etc. ) have not got the albumart saved in the binary...
Just ignore it
how do i fix it?
There is no way to "fix" it... Just leave it as it is

i would like a fix, i want the album cover to change
You can add or edit album art for your music on the Google Play Music "play.google.com/music/listen". There is a small arrow to the right of each album and track that will bring up a pop-up menu when clicked on. Just select edit, change album art, and upload your new art.
I have noticed that sometimes the album art is slow to update when I'm listening to music and my phone is getting a week signal. It may take 20 seconds or more to update.

again, i'm not trying to add or edit. there already is album art on each individual song. the problem is google play is not updating and changing when there are different albums in like 1 artist

Have you tried resetting your phone to clear out the cache?

I have the same question.
all my mp3s have album arts, but none of them show up.
a solution would be nice.
Browse Play Store for "Album Art Grabber", run the app, in the interface choice "clear", yes, "clear", it will clear old album art database of the Google Play Music, then start Google Play Music, it will show new album art of the songs.
I had a similar problem a while back, you have to use the internet and go to Google play music and change the pictures in there, then they get updated withing the music app.

Strange Music player behavior

Hi Guys
Noticed yesterday a strange behavior with the music player. My mp3s have album artwork, and they are classified per "genre". so for example "pop", "rock", "soft", etc.
I noticed that the player will pick up one artwork from each genre and use it for all the mp3 files in that genre. So for example if genre "rock" has 10 songs for different singers, it will take the artwork from one singer and every song in that genre will show the same artwork when playing it !!!!!!!
i have checked the album artwork of every song and it is correct
Has anyone come across this before ? Thanks
Try resyncing your media, I think in the market there's an app called resync or might be called rescan. Worth a shot.

Google Play Music Album Covers?

Is there a way to have Music recognize the album covers I have within my music album folders?
Or have it display the album cover as selected by an Album Art app such as "Album Art Grabber"?
(I'm only interested in songs on my device, not stored in the cloud)
Get donate version of cover art downloader, it will embed cover art into music mp3 so art stays with songs, you can convert other formats such as itunes m4a to mp3 on a windows computer using a converter if your music isnt all in mp3 format.
Once the cover art downloader has done its job (may take a while if music collection is large) and you have used app to manually find and set any covers the auto search function couldnt find, do the following to reset cover art in google music:
Go into settings-apps and select google play music app.
Delete cache and data.
Be aware this will wipe any custom playlists u already made, dunno how to save them.
Reboot phone now.
Once phone has rebooted start google music app and give it a short while as music plus covers is reloaded, now you should have all your art in place and portable with your music.
If you havent tried it yet there is a mod in gnex themes and apps forum for beatslouder for nexus, in flashable zip form, makes huge difference to sound quality, i used nexuslouder V6 beta zip as am on aospa rom.

[Q] album art problem in the stock music player

hi,
strange problem in my new g3.
i use ID3 tags to embed my album art in all of my mp3 files.
they arranged in one folder.
when i use power-amp it shows correctly every song with it's own album art BUT strangely the G3 stock music player is not showing the album art at all or (in some folders) show a particular album art of one file located in that folder (its not even the first one ??)
i also checked the files with the stock file manager app that also shows the mismatched album art just like in the stock music player.
any idea ?
Up
Do the songs have album title information? If not, android will replace the missing album title with the directory name these songs are located in.
Further more, some players use album arts from android database (use this to change album arts, songs need album title) or from the file itself (no album title needed)

Sadly its general problem of Android and most of the devices have same disturbing issue. It was on my Gi5510 and still on my G3. Poweramp shows correct if any artwork attached. For now there is no solution seems like but will research this. This issue is really disappointing, 'cause i like to use stock music player rather than 3rd party apps but its not good when other songs artworks attached to every track. If anyone will found a solution please reply this. I will subscribe this thread. +1 for OP.

I used mp3 tag to embed album art for my music and had no problem with it showing up in my music. The only issue was it wouldn't show up if the image was larger than 4mb, but I doubt that's the case for you guys lol. Have you guys used mp3 tag? If not then use it, if you have then could you elaborate a bit more, because I think it may be fixable.
