dswaggz can you please stop cluttering up this forum with useless posts that cannot even be read?? There are people from other countries, who speak English as their 8th language, who are more understandable than you. Proper spelling and punctuation would be nice, or any at all for that matter. Also, does this thread really have any development use whatsoever, or did you just feel like starting your own post? You know the thread that you got the Android package from, is probably the best place to post questions about issues with said package.

And can't post in the development thread. People like you annoy me. Going around thinking your better than everyone else and treating people like stupid people. Some people just ain't techy like us. I had to help a 40yr old bloke yesterday understand how to unlock the bootloader of the nexus s. He didn't know where to start and he isn't techy like us. So next time maybe just not reply and just write to yourself "I was a noob once. I was stupid once. I needed help once." and then maybe help and not be rude.

PLEASE MAKE A MOVE THREAD BUTTON FOR OPs

We need this more than anything
Looking around xda seeing loads of locked threads and threads asking for help in the development section are just...annoying. And they look bad on the op.
If users were given the option to move there threads to the general section of that forum we could save moderator time and people the embarrassment of a little mistake. It would make sense to grant only the OP this option (and mods) and maybe a report move button that would inform a mod or do an automatic public vote.
This would also allow users with more....neglected forums (such as the Wildfire S to be able to have control over their forum where mods can't due to man power)
Come on xda, let's see this happen.

I wouldn't say ignored Your FSM has seven fora to look after, a couple of which would class as high activity.

Do you report often? I notice CTM has said in the very forum that you are welcome to PM him with queries.

Its not gonna happen but I will add it to my favs and check in now and then and try to keep it cleaned

Well let me see. Subscribed to over 3500 threads that i get emails update on every day, around 600 pms on a slow day about issues, and 6 hours of cleaning up after people. Thats even before i do anything for my device. So yeah it can be but it is a labor of love.

Do you know how much trouble that would cause? If they cant get it right the first time, who's to say they will the next?

Couldn't be any worse than it is now. Hell half the time the mods aren't in agreement on where a thread goes. It happens a lot and it has happened to me. I post. Some mod moves it. Another mod sees it and thinks it is the wrong place and closes the thread! Lol

i would love to see this too. i mistakenly post stuff sometimes and want to move stuff. i just became a senior member and would eventually like to become a mod and developer. moving threads is becoming a must for me. it would be awesome to see what i can do, but need to learn the basics.

This would likely cause more issues than it would solve. Right now the system works pretty well - if you post in the wrong forum you can always report your own thread and ask for it to be moved.

After the shocking dissmissal of RDM, chelsea new manager Rafa Benitez is under huge pressure from all sides of stamford bridge... Also, the rumours of lampard and cole leaving this summer is driving me crazy about the clubs future..!!!
And to top it all up, the new manager has to play his first match against Manchester City currently placed uncomfortably at the top of the BPL table.....
Manchester United seem to have a found a deadly striker and an excelent anchor man, namely RVP and Rooney respectively.. they seem to be the team to watch out for in the coming weeks..... their table cloth jersey is trying to place itself at the top of the table....

Spoiled Chidren Ruining XDA

I have noticed a rash of rude and uncalled for comments lately. Here is a little advice for noobs.
Trolling or Fishing on a Devs thread is childish. How old are you? 12? They take their spare time to develop roms, mods, hacks etc. and give them to us for free. Making comments such as "This rom sucks" is just wrong. If you do not like the rom, don't use it. Respect is earned on this site.
When needing help, please search for the answer first. If you cannot find a good enough explanation, then ask the question politely. Include as much information as possible. Phone code name, Hboot version, S-On or S-Off, What rom you are using etc. I know some people will tag it at the bottom but put it in the description of the question as well. It is hard enough to help someone without having to figure out what kind of phone they have too. Be polite. Hit the thanks button. It is free and does not hurt at all. Remember that XDA is a developers site. They invited you here to share their work with you freely. Senior members help a lot of people on a daily basis and you should keep in mind that they get tired of answering the same question or fixing the same problem. Being polite and keeping your cool will get them to help you a lot faster and things will go alot smoother.

we do get alot of these threads actually. we should make a "thread of shame" but make sure it is made a sticky.
since im ocpd i go through every single evita thread every couple months. =) sometimes i bump old things.

i wish i was a forum mod, cause i see tons of threads that need to be moved and/or locked or both, like the threads that needed to be moved in the dev sections that were just closed but never moved, or were moved but still say "Moved: " in original posted forum.
was this Xperia Z rom port please! not moved but closed in case a dev would see it and want to port it?
why do some threads say "Moved: " but still show up in it's original location? back when the new rules of threads with no downloads can't be in dev section many of those seem show up as "Moved: " which seems beneficial as they originally hinted at dev usage but didn't exactly conform to the rules of that section so seeing them in both places might be helpful?

XDA is just a subset of society.
In society, there are nice people, not so nice people, smart folk, idiots etc.
There will always be a mix of all types here, and while venting about noobs probably makes you feel a little better for a short time, the fact is it isn't going to change a thing.
My advice is just accept that it is how it is. Maybe have another beer and everything will seem just that little bit better.
