Can the CDMA Converter be used in any GSM Rom? And if not, Which Roms can the CDMA converter be used?
thanks
Not any rom. When I make converters, I don't change the Build.prop to PrimoC. I leave it as PrimoU, but I add Virgin Mobile APNS.
I'm still working on a Universal one. Didn't do a lot of it just yet. I have no idea how to do the update script. PM me if you need something done.
I still owe some people roms still. Lol.

Greetings
I just purchased a Shadow from T-Mobile and have unlocked it for use with AT&T. I have been hammering away on it to remove anything referencing T-Mobile and have done alright until now as I am hitting files at the root of \windows that can't be edited/deleted as they are ROM protected files.
Is there a generic, factory or any other kind of ROM available for this phone (other than T-Mobile's of course)?
Thanks in advance!
The best way to go about this would be to cook up the ROM using a Kitchen, I have disassembled the newest shadow rom a while ago while looking for goodies, so the tools work with it..
Thank you!
Although I am very technical, I am fairly new to rom modification. Can you outline/point me to some tools that can help me on my way?
Thanks again!
yes, juno / shadow / phoebus HTC original ROM would be much appreciated.
Do they even sell this non-branded yet? If not I guess that's why one hasnt showed up here yet, If they do, what gives?
I am a dangerous noob, know enough to be dangerous literally. I am in search of the easiest to use software to build ROM's.
What I plan to do: Cook a Android ROM for the TP2 that is CDMA compatible.
The questions I have are:
1. What kitchen do you recommend to do this?
2. Is there software to import a .cab to compile a new ROM?
3. Is there software to import a custom ROM and start work from there?
( I would like to use the GSM rom, but rewrite it to CDMA, as most of the GSM drivers are the same)
I think I can get everything I need by using the existing GSM android TP2 cab( thanks to all here for making that), the SPRINT hero ROM (http://developer.htc.com/), and the A rom of the sprint TP2. ( I actually got the GSM android to see the sprint network lastnight with some reg edits)
I have searched here and found tons of programs, but almost all were out of date or 404 errors. Basicly my searches are slow since the servers are loaded up here, and i cannot mine the info i need. If someone could please point me in the right direction it would be GREAT.
Oh yes, I am using windows, but can setup a linux box if needed. or I can use a VMware image if needed, but I would rather build as much as possible in windows.
Please point me in the right direction!
Thank you
I travel more than average and prefer to insert a local SIM card whenever I land so as not to get ripped off, which is one of the reasons I bought a SIM free desire.
I want to put custom ROMs on it but am concerned that they might not have the international APN settings. The last phone I put custom ROMs on was WM5 and the ROMs didn't have this feature.
So....
Will the customs come with this ?
If some don't how do I tell if it's available on a specific ROM and is there a way to add if it's not ?
Thanks for any help
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Thanks.
Anyone got ideas on this one ?
Nobody knows anything about this ?
Most custom rom's have a pretty complete apn list.
if you come across one that doesn't just replace the file /system/etc/apns-conf.xml with a more complete version of the file, I allways use the one from cyanogenmod if I have any problems.
But as I said, most (if not all) established rom's have a good apn list so I wouldn't worry unless your using an unstable experimental rom thats in its very early stages.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks, exactly what I was after
As the title says, I have the Telus Desire HD on the telus network, just rooted it and installed the leedroid rom.
Now it recommends that I flash the new radio to it, but I've seen radio's that are Telus specific out there, do I need to use one of those? If so could anyone point me in the direction of the newest one/one I should use?
I've found these two pages with telus radios...

Thanks for bearing with me, still pretty new at this.
Also, found this post which seems to be sating that the radio in the first link there could cause sound problems..

I have a HTC Desire HD from telus also but have not updated te radio. I have used my handset perfectly here in Canada on all the carriers and also in Europe. IMO there is no need to flash the radio as it works just fine. Unless there is something I am missing.. someone please chime in. OP where are you located?
Well agreed, It's probably not necessary... but if it can benefit in any small amount, if i know something will work, I might as well. Works perfectly here on the west coast, but as I said,if it can improve battery life, and maybe get more coverage, I may as well.
Can anyone help me out on this?
Bumping it one last time hoping someone has an answer..
Just my personal opinion of changing the Radio, I live in Penticton BC and I run a DHD from Telus on Telus and I just recently flashed from stock radio to the recommended radio from ARHD which is 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M. I went from H "1"-2 bars Yellow -101dBm 6asu / 3G "2"-3 bars Blue -108dBm 4asu and stayed mostly on 3G not by choice, to H "3"-4 bars Blue -94dBm 8asu/ 3G "4" bars Blue -87dBm 13asu. So for me the Radio change was extremely beneficial!
It depends on what firmware you are on...... custom rom support different radio RILS (not much of a difference though)... the thing to flash a RADIO find the proper RIL... that to if you are using Sense rom.... other roms like CM or MIUI do not require RIL....
Thanks for the feedback, tried it with the radio reccomended for the leedroid rom and it worked no problem, so far seems like it might draw a little more battery though and the wifi connectivity might not be as good either, but I"m going to try it for a few days.
Is there any likely downside to flashing the newest radio out (along with the RIL for it) which I think is the one reccomended br ARHD.. Is there kernel settings or anythign like that specific to the radio/RIL as part of the rom?
Don't know what Telus means (I understand it's a provider, wait before fighting...)
In China there is 2 type of DHD. CDMA and WCDMA.
If Radio HW is different, I will not be surprized that you need to flash a different radio. They can have the same piece of software for the 2 HW, but I don't know. I didn'tfind the answer to this question yet.
Of course one will work on the other network, but you can't have 3G (only GPRS/Edge). European DHD works on CDMA network... but no 3G.
Anyway, if it doesn't work, you can always flash back

Any ROM need a RIL. It's the abstraction layer between Android (the OS) and the radio (HW specific to phone). think of it as a driver on your computer.
Radio=firmware of your "device"
RIL=Driver of this "device"
Can you use any CDMA rom or just one made to the specific phone?
my answer is specific phone but not sure
assuming that you mean "can you use roms from other phones for your htc desire cdma (bravoc) other than those made for it?"
No
there are many made for it however
do you have something specific you are looking for in a rom?
You might try Sandvold's beta 0.5.1 at www.sandvold.as.
No sense but ICS 4.0.4. Detects automatically your cdma.
Still some problems with camera
