[Q] Root/TWRP/Stock ROM/Custom ROM - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hello XDA'ers!
The learning curve, you have to love it. I am been provided invaluable information here as of late, came back for more, great group of people here! Device: SGH-T989D TLLG2
History:
1. Rooted my phone successfully using Odin3-v1.85, CWM_Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2, and recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.7-hercules.tar, and all was well.
2. Was advised, in my last thread, of the advantages of TWRP. Did some more reading, watched a few youtube videos and installed Goo Manager through Play Store. Goo Manager was unable to install OpenRecoveryScript recovery. Downloaded and successfully flashed TWRP 2.3.3.0.
3. Using TWRP made a Back-up of Stock/Rooted ROM. I also thought it might be prudent to install Titanium Backup, made a back-up there as well. My thoughts are/were to have enough avenues to fall back on for restore/recovery should a custom ROM kick my butt.
4. With that in mind, I thought I'd better have the SGH-T989D full stock ROM just in case I had to return my devices for repair or replacement. That's when it got interesting. Thinking I should flash the stock ROM onto my phone to have it available, rather than keeping it on computer - in case I found myself unable to access it should I brick (soft/hard?) my device.
5. After successfully flashing stock ROM using ODIN, my next step was to investigate whether that ROM was accessible through TWRP. After multiple attempts at trying to access TWRP, I was met each time with android's recovery menu, and not TWRP. Reason - NOT rooted.
6. Currently, at step #4, again.
I think I know better than to repeat my last mistake.
[Q] Anytime you flash a ROM (whether it be a stock or custom ROM) my device will use that ROM upon reboot?
[Q] Any ROMS on my device will be inaccessible through TWRP / Goo Manager since I "lost" root, will I have to secure root privileges over and over again with any installed ROM in the future?
[Q] There has got to be an easier way, can I ask for your input on methods you use when flashing ROMs?
There must be something rather important that I've either not learned yet or have over-looked - please fill me in.
Thanks in advance!

The reason you lost root and TWRP recovery is because when you flash a stock ROM (or return to stock), it returns your phone to the way you bought it (read: no root or custom recovery). That pretty much answers some of your questions but I'll still answer them:
1. Yes
2. No, what I wrote above answers it.
3. 1. Format System 2. Wipe Data/Factory reset 3. Flash ROM 4. Flash Gapps

Thanks Android88. Your ROMS for my device have been suggested as being ones I should try - so, they will be my first custom ROMS I plan on using. :good:
Doesn't Goo Manager store flashed ROMS, giving me the ability to change "on-the-fly"? Sorry for my ignorance here. Or am I confused, and need to flash each and every ROM should I change my mind and want to use one I've used in the recent past?
As far as root goes, I understand why I lost it - it was not part of the stock ROM. If I chose to flash one of your ROMS, then I would retain root privileges? (because it is "part" of your custom ROM?)
If I need to be directed to a tutorial somewhere - please don't hesitate to suggest it - Thanks. I don't want to leave the impression that my hand needs holding.

Goo manager does flash for you but I recommend using twrp to flash roms then what you should do is make a backup of the Rom using twrp and putting on your pc or sd if you have space. So later on if you have the need our want to switch back to any Rom you can just switch back by using backup on twrp.

If you don't have root you have to regain root. Just go to the stickied thread on the android development section on rooting galaxy s2 then you just put in the Rom. And all of android88's Roms have root access and are deodexed if you know what that is.

I see now, while I am using a specific ROM back it up then to my phone if I think I'll be returning to it at a later date. I thought Goo Manager did that "automagically" acting as a repository whenever I flashed a rom. I have a little knowlege about what deodexed means, but haven't a tight grip on it.
Appreciate your input

Goo Manager doesn't "store" your ROM's. It's only an app. You can flash ROM's through it though. As the person above said, if you want to go back to a ROM you were running earlier, you could make a backup of it and then restore it when you want to return to that ROM. If you flash one of my ROM's when you are already rooted, you'll keep root.

De-odex: Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.
Stolen from someone somewhere. Have no idea where this came from.

Some questions regaerding root, stock, and update?

1. I have my note 2 rooted if I want to go back to stock I've read that you need to flash the stock rom. (If this is not right let me know).
Where can I find the stock rom?
Ive found one that's called L900VpaLJ. on my phone it say L900vpalJc is this the same?
2. Im looking to flash a custom rom since In rooted might as well enjoy it.
More than a question Im looking for some suggestions. Im looking for something that improves the battery, and maybe the audio.
Im not looking to change any of the graphics (booting image) sounds it makes.
Any suggestions?
3. Ive read around that there is a 4.1.2 update. Is this official? Is it for the international or does it include sprint?
If not official when would you guess it'll be released?
Let me thank you in advanced for taking the time to read this.

Okay, if you want the original firmware/rom that was released with the Note II initially from Sprint, here is that:
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote2/SPH-L900/SPH-L900_L900VPALJ1_L900VPALJ1_L900SPTALJ1.zip
^ Flash that in Odin.
(If you don't know how to use Odin, i'll teach you)
If you want to upgrade the firmware on the above rom (Official Sprint Update), flash this in TWRP:
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote2/SPH-L900/SPH_L900_LJ1_to_LJC.zip
That's all stock (except the Team Win Recovery [TWRP] )
If you have any questions just post them.

If you want a good steady (awesome and probably best) rom, get this one.
It's the JellyBomb ROM by Team Venum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957773
^ Just go onto that thread, download the latest version (12.1), and out it onto your external SD card.
There is a rom with the Aroma installer, which pretty much lets you choose the mods to put on it, and there is another rom without the Aroma installer, which I would recommend for you, being a beginner and all.
If you have any questions just post them.
Once it's on your external SD card, boot your phone into recovery mode (TWRP) and install the .zip file you downloaded.
2. No offense but I would not recommend jelly bomb if he's looking to keep things as stock as possible (graphics, etc). I'd go through the roms in Android Development and look for a stock custom rom. I used to use project rom that was pretty stock at the time, ,may still be..
For audio, u can tweak settings in Stweaks, an app included with many roms. If it's not included chances are its still compatible and u should get it. My phone is soo loud through the speakers so well as auxiliary

So I reffered him to the ROM I also flashed first, to enjoy the Note II for a little while until he wants to go back towards stock again.
Question I just got the note 2. Um really impressed my old device was the evo lte.
Now my question do I need to be s off to flash radio updates or I just need to be rooted? Sorry if I just sound dumb but I was with htc for to long its my first samsung

There is no S-Off on samsung devices. In lieu of a locked bootloader they use a custom binary flash counter and a stock recovery auto install script that over writes custom recovery on boot, CWM and TWRP via goomanager disable the script, flash counter can be reset if warranty is needed
I like to break stuff!

[Q] How to tell which ROM I've flashed?

I can see Android v4.1.1 on System, About, but I totally forget what ROM I flashed. One of the more popular ones, last October or so. How do I tell what is on the phone?
Thanks, and sorry for the dumb question...

Hmmm. Maybe I never *did* flash anything...
"Build number JRO03L.L710VPBLJ7"
Doesn't that mean plain old Jelly Bean?
I vaguely remember installing Clockwork Mod so I could get JellyBean early.
I guess I want to uninstall Clockwork Mod so I can do OTA updates from Sprint, etc. I found these threads, but they are for Galaxy Tab 2...:

[ODIN STOCK ROM] GT-P3113 Stock ROM for Odin flash
But since last fall, I've had to re-install Windows.
So, two questions:
1) Jellybean is standard on Galaxy S3's by now, right?
2) What do I need to install on my PC to uninstall Clockwork Mod Recovery? Odin? Anything else?
Thanks.

Might I interject here? If the only reason you want to go back to stock recovery is to get the OTA updates, I personally don't think you need to. Typically, Freeza has the most up-to-date Stock, Rooted Rom over in his thread. In my case, he usually has it well before I get the OTA notification from Sprint. If you think his thread is daunting to look at, you really only want to flash one of the following (I always remove direct links to the Roms out of respect for the dev's):

The MC3 Rom is a leak of a new OTA that might come out soon (or it'll be incorporated in a future OTA). The MB1 Rom is the most current, stock Rom. All you have to do is flash it and you're updated. If you need help with how to flash it, you can look to my post over here. Since you're going from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, I'd recommend a "clean install" (step 5 in my instructions) just to minimize the chance of Force Closes, but you should be good if you want to do a "dirty flash" (only wipe cache and dalvik cache). If you dirty-flash, though, any and all troubleshooting will boil down to doing a clean install and seeing if the problem persists.
Also, CNexus has written up a really good OTA Guide to help you understand the whole OTA thing more and to recognize your options. You can check out his post over here.
Hope this helps!
Edit: It might also be good to update your Recovery before proceeding. Depending on how old your CWM is, it might be best to get an updated one (with hopefully fewer bugs). Thankfully, Naddict has created updates that are flashable from the Recovery itself. All you have to do is download the one you want (I'm using TWRP 2.5.0.0, but CWM is fine, too) and flash it in your custom Recovery, then reboot into recovery again.
topherk, thanks!
I took your advice and upgraded my ClockworkMod. (I also installed TWRP, which I think overwrote it, but that's another story).
I'm going to go over your post in more detail (hopefully) this weekend.
I tried flashing some different ROMs to see what they were like. I was not impressed, so I went back to stock.
Can you tell me something? If I use TWRP to back up everything, I still need to install GAPPS, right? Then I need to do something with GAPPS and Platinum Backup before I wipe/re-install to keep all/most of my programs/settings, right? Then run GAPPS again after I flash the new ROM?

Yeah, you can only have one recovery installed at once. I use TWRP, others use CWM. In my opinion, it shouldn't matter too much. They're both good and as far as I'm aware, the newest of each are relatively bug-free. The only thing is once you have backups for one, you can't restore them with the other. This isn't that big of a deal, but just an FYI.

I'll break your questions here:
As far as I'm aware, all TouchWiz Roms include GAPPS in them by default. Of the flip side, no AOSP Roms will include them. This is because Google has asked dev's to not include them (in a Rom) unless specifically approved by Google. Samsung has gotten that approval for their TW framework, so any Rom based on TW can (and do) include GAPPS. If you're in doubt and the Rom doesn't say, first re-read the thread, as it's a common question. Then you can just flash the Rom without GAPPS and load up your phone. If GAPPS is included, you'll have a play store. If not, then you can just reboot into recovery and install it. Easy as pie.
I believe you mean Titanium Backup (another precious metal). Using TiBk, I actually have an automatic restore done every morning at 3am. Then if I decide to flash a new Rom, I always have an up-to-date backup of my apps. I never restore system apps, as that's just asking for trouble when switching Roms. I always back up my messages and phone log, but nothing that's red in TiBk. And for most apps, you don't have to restore data (only the app). I only restore data for games and apps like Hulu so I don't have to log in again.
Hoep this helps!
Yeah stock based roms will include GAPPS, AOSP roms cant because they arent officially licensed to distribute them...
As for the original question, I think I have it figured out. If you go to /system/build.prop and open that file, the great majority of devs will modify the relevant lines to the name of their custom roms. On cm roms theres a line called "cm.version=", which devs will usually modify that on a CM rom
The name is in there somewhere...could be changed on a couple lines, or on ALL the relevant lines, but it will be changed most of the time
Hope this helps
Is there a way to just directly upgrade Jellybean from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 without having to re-install (via Gapps?) all of my applications, etc.?
I thought I read that I could unroot, do the OTA upgrade, then root again? I'm reading the OTA guide by CNexus, and 'freezing' the update app seems like a good option, but that just keeps the nag screen away.

All you need to do is follow the guide. You can download the MB1 firmware from freezas thread, and then flash an updated version of your rom. If you are on stock rooted, then you can flash one of freezas plain stock rooted roms over what you have (i would recommend a backup first though)
Just a small correction Gapps strictly refers to Google made apps (maps, play store, books, etc) you usually only flash these when working with AOSP roms. You sound like your talking about Touchwiz roms and thus your not loading all your apps through gapps, because Gapps are already included with Touchwiz roms. What you are referring to is reloading all your apps through Google Play Store and using the Google restore feature.

Yes! I'm talking about:
1) Backing up everything on my Galaxy S3
2) Installing other ROMs (sometimes stock, sometimes AOSP)
(side question: "stock" = "TouchWiz"???)
3) Magically re-installing *all* of my apps in the new ROM by clicking a single button
To do that, I'll need to use the "Google restore" feature?

You don't have to hit ok for each app when you use google restore the correct way. It automatically reloads your apps on your device. TB is a great also but never restore data it is the root of most issues caused when people use it.

[Q] New to Flashing Carrier Specific Custom Roms

I am fairly new to the android Mod community although I have been flashing Custom ROMs on my Nexus 7 for a couple of months now.
I recently just got a AT&T Samsung GSIII and of course almost the very first thing I did was ROOT it. Now I would like to flash some ROMs....
But before I do I have a few questions.....
1. I want to install TWRP instead of CWM..... will this trip my flash counter? (I manged to root my phone without tripping it.)
2. I read a lot of posts about people needing to flash their Modem and set APN settings after flashing their phones. If I use a AT&T Rom will I have to do either of those?
3. I read posts about people loosing their 4G LTE after flash.... how common is this and is there a fix?
I was able to find answers to some of this question here (For Example Custom ROMs actually register correctly and are not embellished like on carrier specific roms) However My questions on APNs still stand http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947376
4. I actually pay for Wifi Tethering (I know stupid... I didn't know better at first) however if I flash to an AT&T custom ROM will this option disappear in the settings? Since most custom ROMs have different settings menus?
I would really love to try flashing this weekend.... so if you guys and all of your wisdom can help out I would appreciate it.
Thanks
1. No. Follow the link in my signature. Near the bottom of post #2 there are cwm and twrp download links. Grab the one you want, boot into recovery and flash it. Under advanced, reboot recovery. Make a backup.
2. Not likely. I haven't had to
3. The LTE issues tend to be on ported and multi carrier roms
4. You will still have wifi tether options on most or all roms

thanks for the info
one more question if you don't mind....
So I need to make a Nandroid back up of course, should I make a IMEI back up as well? And are there any other settings that are essentail I back up before flashing?
Ooops I guess I lied I thought of something else too....
When you say multi-carrier ROM would you consider a rom including ATT/Rodgers?etc.... a multi carrier rom? Or would you consider a rom that spans ATT/Verizon/US Cellular a mult carrier rom. This might seem like a weird question but I only ask because I thought ATT/Rodgers/ and a few others were related companies some how.
Could you give me some examples of ROMs that are mult-carrier and not multi-carrier
thanks
I made a backup of my imei. I think it's smart to do right from the start. That's why I put it as step 1 and my thread.
A multi carrier rom would be one that is made to supposedly work on say at&t, sprint & verizon devices...and this is my experience with these

Thanks bud you have been a big help.
One more thing if you don't mind.... any roms you would like to suggest that meet the following criteria?
Customizable
Stable
Smooth
Not asking to choose one over another just some good starting points

I happen to use Smoothrom on my Nexus 7 which is an AOKP rom. However I did dig the feel of CM10.1 as well..... I noticed Goo manager has both maybe I will check those out.
Thanks again

Heck no.... of course not... I just use it to look for names of ROMs..... then I go to the thread online associated with that ROM and read what people who have used it say about it.
I do this because there are so many ROMs out there.
I gotcha. Just making sure.
I'm on the AOKP 4.2.2 milestone released a few days ago. it's running great with ktoonsez kt747 kernel

Sorry, I have question with Flash Counter. as I understood form mrRobinson's OP if you flash his rooted stock image, you won't trip the counter, but if you install customer recovery (didn't matter if you intall custom rom later), it will absolutely trip the counter.

[Q] i747 Root or not

Hi guys,
My beloved S3 is is > 1 year old now.
I was always afraid\skeptical of rooting it as it lead to void warranty
Since it is already > 1 year old and warranty does not come into picture now, I thought why not give it a try now..
I see many S3 users are more than efficient after root.
Should I go for it ?

Yes, root to experience the full capabilities of your phone.
Please be sure to read all guides and FAQs and be familiar with GS3 terminology.
Read tons....i mean TONS!!
Search and reading will be your besfriends.
Root, experiment, enjoy greatness
Root and unleash the chains that bind you.
Take it from a noob, read, read and re-read.
Easier to read about potential problems before they arise than after.:good:
i can has root?
Rooting is a must. I went for root the day i got the phone and went reading up on rooting the S3, roms, etc. before i even got the phone.
first thing i did when i got my s3 in april was root it. and my dad has the same phone i have, and i have to say having mine rooted vs his stock, mine gets so much better battery life. and is just one of the perks of rooting other than overclock and underclock and custom roms and stuff.
...and Sammy phones are fairly fool proof when it comes to rooting and flashing
Yes, it seems like we have many 1 click tools to do this.
I just want to go slow, I want to unlock the boot loader first & then uninstall all the att crap..
that should free up some space n RAM..
Later on I can install custom ROM's and Kernels if need be..
This can be done right...
First thing you should do is make a backup of your stock unmodified system before you remove or erase anything or install roms. And also make a copy of the backup to a second location like a computer.

S3 doesn't have a locked bootloader. Reality just have to flash a rooted stock firmware in Odin and you are good to go.

yes,,
1) unlock boot loader
2) take backup of everything using titanium
3) then uninstall all the useless apps which came along with att
4) if required i will flash custom rom and kernel else i will stick with everything stock..
The reason I want to stop at unlocked boot loader is that as of now I already have 4.1.1, and I have read everywhere that 4.1.2 isn't much of a revolution so why flash a custom ROM. People might not agree with this but I tend to think so...
Obviously any suggestions are appreciated....:fingers-crossed:

Don't even think about touching anything dealing with bootloaders.
The i747 comes with an unlocked boot loader, the only one that is locked is the Verizon S3.
There have been various bricked S3 by trying to "unlock" something that isnt locked.
Read read read and search and research.

No I am not talking about just backing everything up with titanium backup. I am talking about backing up your stock untouched system with a custom recovery like twrp or clockwork recovery. After root you will most likely have a custom recovery installed like twrp. You can boot into this custom recovery and backup the entire system in its current state, because sometimes when certain system apps are removed you will get force closes and bootloops and the only way to restore your phone is by restoring a backup, flashing a rom or pushing a system to your phone via odin.
Removing stock apps that came with your phone can be risky at times because they are often tied to other systems. Search to see what apps are safe to remove and a system backup is probably good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665
Do not attempt to unlock the bootloader! It is unlocked already. Your proper plan of action should be:
Backup everything possible (MyBackup is what I used)
Root phone (several methods available, choose one)
Install custom recovery. Rom Manager can install CWM for you, while goo manager can install TWRP (I prefer twrp)
Follow instructions for installation off any Rom you download (found in the first post of that Roms thread, usually before you get to the dl link)
Before flashing or attempting any mod, make a back up of everything. And read the directions
Mine is still under warranty and its rooted. Open its can of whoop a**

The cool thing for you will be all the awesome tweaks and mods that have out in the last few months because you device is a little elderly. Check out the definitive mod thread in the T-Mobile S3 forum. I forget which thread its in. You can atleast double battery and speed and 20x the customization options. Once you flash a new rom it becomes a habit called flashaholism so be aware. My name is Bubba Fett and I'm a flasaholic.
Finally I did it,, My Galaxy S3 is rooted successfully..
Thanks to you guys & online sources..
-Root is done
-Backup using CWM is taken, a copy is there on Internal Memory, External Memory Card and My Computer
Next step-
-Remove bloatware and free some storage..

There is no best ROM it all depends on the user. Feel free to try any of them. Just make a Nandroid backup each time before you flash a new one and follow the devs installation instructions. Good luck and have fun!

I've tried Cyanogenmod, PAC, and AOKP in the past week. All three are butter smooth and stable. You will have to cycle the battery a couple of times for it to fit in (I noticed upon initial flash, battery life was terrible).

[ROM] [Touchwiz-PC1,PD1] [100% Stock, Root, No KNOX, No Itson] [4/5/2016]

Once again I bring to you completely stock builds of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 (N910PVPU4DPC1 and N910PVPS4DPD1) for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 4.. The ROMs are built from the official Samsung tar balls. The ROMs will self root upon flash and have init.d/busybox support. Knox and Sprint Itson has been removed. These ROMs are completely stock with all of the original factory installed apps. You will have to de-bloat yourself if you so choose.
Other than the removal of Knox and Sprint Itson, the ROM is 100% stock in every other way. It is stock and will stay that way. Please don't ask for mods, changes, etc in this thread. This ROM is intended for those people who want the stock ROM in it's original form with the addition of root and removal of Knox & itson, as well as other members who need a good solid base for their rom projects. I give permission for other dev's to use this rom as your base ONLY if you contact me prior to using it. If I find users using my work without proper credits I will report you and make you look like a fool. Do the right thing and give credits to people for their time and work. It's a courtesy and respect thing, nothing more. With that said, I highly recommend other rom chef's/dev's to use this base rom because it is bug-free and built from the official Samsung tar ball. Last but not least, if you appreciate my work please press that Thanks button, rate this thread and consider a kind donation! Enjoy!
Mods, etc will be in post #2 below.
Important Notes: Before flashing ANY Marshmallow 6.0.1 TW-based ROM, including this one, you MUST first do one of the following:
1. Take the Marshmallow PC1 ota update on your phone. (Start by being on the stock unrooted OK1 rom then take the PC1 ota update)
2. Odin flash the stock PC1/PD1 ROM tar using odin on your PC.
Once you have correctly updated your Note 4 to Marshmallow 6.0.1, software version N910PVPU4DPC1 or N910PVPS4DPD1 DO NOT... I repeat, DO NOT attempt to root your phone with CF-auto root or other methods. It will soft brick your phone. Instead, you ONLY need to flash the latest TWRP recovery using odin on your pc. Nothing else. These ROMs will pre-root your phone using the new systemless root by Chainfire as well as flash the stock PC1/PD1 kernel.
If you are still on any KK or Lollipop 5.0 TW-based ROM such as NIE, OB7, OE1 , OF5, OG5, OJ6 or OK1 (including any KK AOSP/CM-based roms) then you MUST first update to Marshmallow 6.0.1 PC1 by one of the two methods I mentioned above BEFORE flashing this ROM. Failure to properly update your device partitions to 6.0.1 PC1 firmware absolutely WILL cause problems. You have been warned. Please don't ask for help if you did not follow my simple instructions and warnings.
Flashing instructions: ***Before beginning the flash/setup process MAKE SURE your battery has at least 50% charge and/or connected to the charger!!!***
1. Backup anything you don't want to lose off your internal and external storage to another location just to be safe.
2. Download the ROM using your pc. (downloading with your phone has a much higher risk of file corruption. Not recommended with large files).
3. VERIFY the MD5!!! Once the download has finished, compare the androidfilehost MD5 using a MD5 tool on your pc. (Google "md5 checksum windows") for a good MD5 tool for your pc.
4. Put the downloaded ROM onto your internal storage or external micro sd card.
5. With phone powered off, reboot into recovery by pressing and holding volume up, power and the home button until you see the Samsung logo then release all buttons.
6. Once in recovery choose the wipe button and do a factory reset three times. Optional but recommended is to wipe "Data". This will wipe all of your user data such as google accounts so MAKE SURE you backed up first like I said in step #1 above! Next go to "advanced wipe" and select all of the partitions EXCEPT micro-sd card and internal storage. Internal storage is optional but recommended when first updating to a major software revision such as 4.3 to 4.4 or 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, or 5.1.1 to 6.0.1. The reason is to remove left-over data from previous version of Android and start with a clean slate. I highly recommend doing this for a trouble-free experience.
7. Choose the "Install" option and select the ROM "Stock_DeOdexed_N910PVPU4DPC1_1.0_03302016.zip" or "Stock_DeOdexed_N910PVPS4DPD1_1.0_04302016.zip" from either your internal or external micro-sd card. It will flash the ROM and give a confirmation once completed.
8. Reboot system. The phone will reboot two times while the systemless root builds the new .img and properly sets up root on your phone. It is automated so let it do it's thing. Once the Samsung boot animation completes the phone will boot in approximately 12 minutes.
9. Let the phone optimize for at least 12 minutes (for the deodexed rom) and the screen will show the setup wizard once it finishes. Proceed to setup your phone.
10. Once finished with the setup wizard, wait a few moments and the phone will automatically download the Sprint "bloat" installer and begin installing the addition Sprint apps exactly the way it does on a new phone when you first turn it on. That's it! You're done!
Credits:@Chainfire for root and SuperSU. Without him we would not have root. Thank you!@TeamWin for TWRP recovery. http://teamw.in/project/twrp2 and here
flashing anything on your device is done at your own risk. There is no way myself or any other developer can guarantee that flashing this ROM or any other file will not brick your device or otherwise cause some other type of damage. This is just a standard warning. I am not responsible for anything that you do to your device. However, all of my roms, mods, etc are pre tested by myself and other testers prior to public release.

Mods
Hotspot mod for N910PVPU4DPC1 ONLY
Hotspot mod for N910PVPS4DPD1 ONLY
Hotspot mod for N910PVPU4DPE1 ONLY
(my hotspot mods are made to work on both stock odexed and deodexed roms for their corresponding software version. The installer script will automatically handle everything, just flash and reboot and you're done)
Note: These hotspot mods are primarily intended for stock roms. If you run a custom rom that has a modified services.jar then flashing these "stock" hotspost mods will break those other mods in services.jar, such as reboot mod for MM roms. Check with the rom dev for details on specific mods used in their roms before flashing these. In any case, these hotspot mods will work fine even if other mods in a custom rom get replaced by the stock java classes. No harm either way, you would simply be without the custom mods.
Private Mode Fix for N910PVPU4DPE1 may also be used on previous MM software beginning with software version PC1. DO NOT use on Lollipop or earlier software.

couple questions
1. has anyone confirmed xposed working with deodex?
2. can anyone confirm or deny PC1 compatibility with PB5 engineering bootloader? I don't have easy access to a computer and won't for several days
3. if coming from PB5 will this wipe my internal sdcard again?
This rom has language similar to Vietnam darling note 5 not? I am Vietnamese!
Add language vietnam to rom. Thank pro )
