Do not flash to the Galaxy W, the kernel is incompatible, along with other smaller things
After about 6 month of waiting, most of which was fighting my computer, AOKP pure is finally here.

Major update:
I've switched over to the 3.4 kernel . I will be testing the wifi tonight to make sure it works fully. This is easily the snappiest I have ever seen this device
Built on AOKP 4.1.2 code, this is slightly out of date, but stable. What I've found so far that is broken is as follows:
- Camera is still broken (kernel limitation, for the moment)
- WiFi tethering (broken by kernel)
- USB Tethering
Thankfully, it's a short list. Here's what is working:
- WiFi
- Cell data
- 2G mode (seems spotty though)
- vsync (project butter)
- Bluetooth
- USB mass storage
- volume scrolling shortcut
- color choosers (a little finicky sometimes)
- GPS
- MMS
UPDATE: 5/13/13
- Airplane mode also works
- Data monitor (after correcting the kernel)
UPDATE: 7/18/13
- Orientation works!
Thanks to the following people:
KemoNine96: For providing a base for the device and vendor files
arco68: For providing the kernel source, bringing the Rugby Smart to the 3.4 kernel
Team Kang: For the ROM source
Team codefire for the build box access
Sources
Team Rugby (will be pushing my frameworks/base up later): https://github.com/TeamRugby

To Install, you must meet these criteria:
- Have a Samsung Rugby Smart
- Be using KemoNine96's 6.0.1.1 or newer CWM recovery or my TWRP builds
- Have GAPPS 4.1.2 in a flashable zip
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, accept the fact that I, as a developer, take no responsibility for damage to your device. Consider yourself warned.
Current Builds
Beta 2
- Fresh sync with upstream
- Orientation now functions
Older Builds
Beta 1
Alpha 2
AOKP Apache Alpha 1
AOKP Apache Initial
See OP
Gapps information
For those that don't know about GAPPS
Installation is as easy as:
1. Download the zips, and transfer it to your device
2. Boot into recovery mode and select "install zip from sdcard"
3. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", find the ROM zip, then confirm the installation
4. Follow the same procedure for GAPPS
5.Enjoy the new ROM!

good job bro :good:
Good Job It's possible to convert it into Galaxy W?
It's alot like Remics, so there's not a bunch of difference. it also has the "same" kernel in the sense that it is built on arco68's 3.0 sources.

i wonder how similar our phone is. is it just like sgw, sgs+, and exhibit?
Sent from my GT-I8150
From what Kemonine and I have gathered, it shares the board architecture with the W, with the Galaxy S display and a similar touchscreen to the S. It has hardkeys like the W, but has 4 instead of 3.

The big differences I've found:
kernel differs in sound area
different lcd panel
sensors libs differ greatly (not @ all compatible)
wifi config file is us, not eu based
different battery capacity
misc other bits and pieces scattered throughout
the original apache sources do have "ancora" and "GT-I8150" strings, looks like samsung started with the ancora sources and moved things over
Thanks for the clarification KemoNine. .
Hi, is it possible to make this rom compatible with our SGH-i847? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753233
It would be great to have Rugby which looks like GT-i9300. Thanks.

That just looks like a reskinned CM9. If you can find Remics' sources, I can build it properly.
Where should I find them?
I haven't found them yet.. I would like to though.
Aplha 1 will be up shortly .
EDIT:
Alpha 1 is up, with a changelog added.
I apologize for not posting any updates in a while, I haven't made any changes that warrant an update. I have started playing around with the kernel again, so maybe I can bring the battery life up a bit.
Here's a much needed update...

ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
Supported Devices:
olympus (atrix), sunfire (photon), triumph, WX435, fb0 (triumph), p999 (lg g2x), p990 (lg o2x), p970 (lg optimus black), ace (htc desired hd), pyramid (htc sensation), galaxys2, GT-I9100, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, SGH-I777, SGH-I727, hercules, crespo (nexus s), crespo4g (nexus s 4g), toro (cdma galaxy nexus), maguro (gsm galaxy nexus)
Experimental Support:
umts_jordan(defy), wingray, stingray (xoom)
Your phone must be rooted!
Step One: Press the Install Resources button on screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
Step Two: Press the Create Fruit Cake button on the screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
You use this application at your own risk, I am in no way responsible for any damage this application causes.

Afaik a nandroid backup is everything including data folder. This one i think is a little less than that. As op said it copies the rom so devs can pass them to their beta testers etc. A nandoid backup is including ur personal settings like bookmarks or last viewed webpages and contacts etc. And a nandroid backup is recovery dependant. Afaik a nandroid from a cwm v4 base wont be suitable for a phone with a cwm v5 phone.

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.
Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode
New look
Open Source components
New site, new forums, new devices.
The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.
We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.
Nightlys and experimental.
Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.
An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.
I think it's great personally, used it on DHD also with ease.
I'm surprised this project doesn't receive more attention.
It certainly deserves it.
Many thanks
Wow. If I get it well, it create a flashable zip image of your current installation, with apps etc?
Wow. That will be a lot easier to share beta ROMs in the future.
Many many thanks.

I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Very good work!
Awesome! keep the good work, I will try it tonight from home.
Sounds Great
Hello,
The ROM Factory sounds like a great Idea, im not a developer but i can see why its great for devs,
Question is, will it be useful for just a user like I am?
if i am to use it to back up, how does it differ from Titanium and CWM NAND backup?
Thanks
Go read post #7
DO NOT flash to the Galaxy W or Galaxy S+. This will not work on either device, and only on the SGH-I847 Rugby Smart
So, the next iteration in the AOKP development is finally ready for release:
I'm liking this ROM so far, it feels pretty fast. Using a kernel based on arco's 3.4 means I can keep it up to date with his work.
So far, this is stable, but not without issues:
- USB tethering feature is broken (kernel needs tweaking
- Camera is still broken (Kernel limitation)
- Video decoding (Media libs are messed up, breaks Youtube)
Tested and working:
- 3G data
- Mass Storage
- adb connection
- User switching ( switch is on landscape lockscreen, I'm looking at fixing this)
UPDATE: 9/5/13
-WiFi works (odd programming in 3.4)
- No more "stuck-in-speakerphone" (was missing a file)
UPDATE: 9/14/13
- WiFi tethering decided it wanted to work
- Bluetooth works great
I'm sure I'm missing stuff
Thanks to:
KemoNine - Getting me in to development in the first place
utkanos - the helpful hints along the way
arco68 - supplying a solid base kernel for me to work from
Team Codefire for hosting my projects and builds
Grumpyspud for pointing out the video bug
The rest of the users and supporters for the various things that helped
To Install, you must meet these criteria:
- Have a Samsung Rugby Smart
- Be using KemoNine96's 6.0.1.1 or newer CWM recovery or my TWRP builds
- Have GAPPS 4.2.2 in a flashable zip

Dude this ROM is extremely stable man. Awesome work.
Sent from my cellphone.
I noticed that myself... 4.2.2 seems to be incredibly efficient. My phone idled for 10 hours and was still at 92% when I got to it.
One thing I noticed is that background data kicks on for no reason, even if it's disabled.
smoothest rom for this phone i have seen thus far. I was on CM10 for a few days got choppy from time to time, this one is the best just needs camera! :fingers-crossed:
OP updated with a bug found by grumpyspud. Fortunately it's stable enough for daily use .
OP has the 8th's file in the database.
I found the bug on the 9th... Did you just forget to name it 9/9?

It affects all builds, so tye timestamp is irrelevant. The one I did on the 8th was an experimental build if I remember right.
im not sure if i did something wrong or this is a bug but, when i go into snapchat or zedge it says "SD-card required for this application" it worked fine for CM10 and the phone is reading my SD card from the apps storage.

Introducing codefireXperiment for your device! This OP is going to stay slim and bloat free, just like codefireXperiment. No marketing buzzwords either.
We take such confidence in the speed and performance of this distribution, we challenge you to find a faster and more stable one!
Warning: we only support anykernel methods of custom kernel installation.
Here's a bit of info you may want on this project for how we do things differently:
CLICK HERE to find out more about the new team working on this project since our TeamEOS merger.
No features you don't need which slow the device down, or put your data at risk of being stolen. If you want to give it away, it should be your decision.
A fast and clean install with no UX decisions made for you. You make the ROM whatever you would like.
A team constantly exploring totally new feature sets and optimizations geared toward you, the user
We utilize a plethora of optimizations in a build system unlike any other:
- Each build has a toolchain built for your device at the time of build. No more generic toolchain android builds.
- Consistently updated upstream toolchain module source with our custom backports, fixes, and optimizations applied in a patch at build time.
- Fully built utilizing Link Time Optimization (another custom ROM first). Feel free to google this one a bit to get an idea of the performance gain.
- Many repositories have code fixes, cleanups, and many minor optimizations which are too generous to even speak of here.
- Optimizations are toggled on and off based on device for the best experience we can acheive for your device without sacrificing any stability
- Many Qcom optimizations and AOSP master (upstream) optimizations and fixes using device specifications to determine usage.
- Fully built utilizing strict aliasing and isognu++11 mode.
- Full "-O3" build. To those who don't know, this is the highest "optimization level" available in gcc that sets many other flags.

By press buildnumber you open devtools, its like pure aosp there no performance sets, even in pa,try performance control, its best for such settings.

- Blu_Active with modifications and such
- Boeffla Wakelock Blocker
- djb77's latest toolchain optimised for our devices

- Max and Min Frequencies for both CPU big and little have been increased
- Iron-active and Wheatley Governers
- A LOT of under the hood stuff for your user experience
I can take requests of course, don't be shy
I just want the kernel to be in favour of what seems good by users!
What is Anykernel?
You can skip this if you don't want to know how it works.
Kernels tend to have a fully built boot image ready, it just flashes everything and it may not PATCH the necassary files. This means you're gonna have to create a different boot image for different roms such S8 Ports, Note FE Ports and AOSP ROMS. Things such as compatibility maybe an issue also because new things may not be supported by old things (Newer RAMDISK on an older ROM).
That's when Anykernel comes into play. It only includes the zImage (actual prebuilt kernel), dtb (the instructions for hardware stuff), and patches used ontop of the stock ramdisk. It takes the previous/stock kernel, replaces dtb and zImage and then continues to patch the ramdisk. Voila, it's done. It makes it easier for the devs to work on the kernel and has better compatibility! It does come with it's disadvantages, It can't be flashed ontop of other custom kernels that have modifications in the ramdisk. The patch and ramdisk will cause some trouble because there interefering with each other alright!

How do I install this?
If you already have AOSP with it's stock kernel.
1) Reboot into recovery and flash it like normal
If you have AOSP with a custom kernel like PRIME, Prophecy or Primal.
1) Go to the AOSP ZIP you installed, extract boot.img from there.
2) Boot into recovery, flash the boot image. Don't forget to switch the option from ZIP to IMG if you can't find it in the directory you extracted it from.
3) Then go back to home screen in recovery, and go flash Excel Kernel
I really don't need to explain this in detail and such because if you got here it mean's you know how to install AOSP ROMS. It's pretty simple.

I'm very interested in using your kernel just wondering about the battery life and thermal issues. Whenever I play games it just heats up like crazy in aosp and battery life suffers coz of inefficiency. Just wondering if you've fixed these issues.
In AOSP, those issues are not gonna dissappear but you should see a notable difference. Theres things like hero-common and such I cant fix.

I'll be trying out your kernel tonight
Ayy
Omg....Thermal issue has been pretty much fixed 0.0 however using stock settings did cause system shutdown when running geekbench. Needed to under clocked it significantly but it's so early so its amazing. Will use it the next couple of days and test for battery life
Alright, if you could tell me any sorta info related to the crash i can attempt to fix it

a few Misc questions
Hello,
What is typical battery life by default for the Kermit Kernel?
I'm not a gamer so don't do overclocking or highly intense graphics, for me good battery is essential, is there ways I can increase battery longevity?
Does the Kermit Kernel support fast charging by default or must it be enabled?
Does Kermit have support for VoLTE/HD voice and Wifi calling by default or can that be compiled in?
Lastly, does Kermit Kernel have support by default for the doubletap 2 wake feature (originally pioneered by the LG phones, the G2 I believe was first), or can it be compiled in?
Thanks.
Dave.
Hi,
First of great work! I'll be installing the kernel any minute now. I also wonder if it's possible to DT2W in the kernel. Have tried it myself but got lost fairly quick...
Keep up the good work!
Jules.
dt2w?
Hi,
I'd like to know how you atempted dt2w and where you got stuck?
DM me if you want.
What is the current status of kermit?
Thanks.
Dave.
It's in haitus
Phone dies for no apparent reason, usually twice a day. It's completely dead. I have to plug it in for the phone to respond and then I can turn it back on. Phone can be on 100% and be doing the easiest of tasks, and it will happen. Any help is appreciated.

This is a port of Sailfish OS to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (aka chiron).
At the moment this is a very early state port.
Current state: Alpha 1
Download:
Sailfish OS Version 2.x (work in progress)
ROM lineage-14.1-20171229_174133-UNOFFICIAL-chiron.zip
Alpha 1: sailfishos-chiron-release-2.1.3.7-guhl180103.zip (current)
Installation:
Be warned. This will wipe all your data and you will get a very, very early user experience!
Remark: The installation of the correct LOS (14.1 for SF 2.x) image is only necessary once. So if you already did this the first time you can skip steps 1,2 and 5.2
1. Boot into fastboot mode and format the data partition using the command:
Code:
fastboot format userdata
2. Boot into your custom Android Recovery (TWRP) and make sure that the sdcard is mounted
3. Upload the LOS release:
Code:
adb push lineage-14.1-20171229_174133-UNOFFICIAL-chiron.zip /sdcard/
4. Upload Sailfish OS:
Code:
adb push sailfishos-chiron-release-2.1.3.7-guhl180103.zip /sdcard/
5. In the Recovery on the device:
5.1. Clear data and cache (factory reset)
5.2. Install the CM release by picking the CM image (this is needed so that the correct version of the binary libraries and firmware files are in place)
5.3. Install Sailfish OS by picking the SFOS image (this will take quite some time)
6. Reboot the device
After the initial boot the language selection and initial setup will show.
You have to skip the WLAN connection because there is no working WLAN or modem atm.
After that it will take a while and then the Jolla tutorial should come up. You can skip the tutorial if you want by clicking the corners of the screen in the following sequence: Top-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Right, Bottom-Left.
Change-log:
Version 20180103
What works:
Telnet access via USB to the device on IP 192.168.2.15 and port 2323
ssh access for the user nemo after Remote connection is enabled in Developer tools in Settings
GUI
You can play Galaxy Attack if you enable the on screen controls as sensors do not work yet (click on top-right corner)
What does not work:
everything else

Great work, wait for 1 st public build
Hi,
thanks for the encouragement!
Currently I am fighting with the Wifi driver. As soon as I have this up I'll upload the first ROM.
Have fun - Guhl
Cool. I'm really interested in trying this ever since I heard the Turing phone uses it.
cant wait..
good luck
Well, on to the important stuff! Do bluetooth audio, proximity sensor, and VoLTE work!?!?!?
Just kidding. Cool that you're bringing Sailfish to this phone. Best of luck

Hehe!
Well atm still nothing works but hwcomposer (screen output) and touchscreen.
Porting for a device that has a 4.4 kernel (no Sailfish OS port is using such a recent kernel) and not even having the real kernel sources for the device is challenging.
But I wanted a challenging device for my 4th Sailfish OS port so nothing to complain.
I am making progress on the Wifi but i am still not there.

Alpha 1 -> Sailfish OS 2.1.3.7
Hi,
I released Alpha 1 and updated the OP.
See installation instructions and changelog in OP.
I can not press enough that this is Alpha 1. No Wifi, no modem, no sensors, no nothing. Only the Sailfish GUI user experience and you can play Galaxy Attack. Yes Galaxy Attack and that even in HD
The installation process will wipe your user data. So you better know how to backup/restore your stuff.
I would be happy if you give it a try but of course I understand that there is a lot to loose (but well, you get Galaxy Attack).

What do you mean by that.
Are you referring to Alian Dalvik that is running on Jolla Phones to run Android? Well yes that would be Android 4.4.
But Alien Dalvik won't be running on this Sailfish OS port anyway as it is a licensed closed source product that must not be installed on Sailfish OS ports.
Well whatever. I personally do not care for any kind of Android Version or Android anymore. Otherwise I would not use my time to port Sailfish OS to other phones.
