Hi guys. I want to ask if any of you guys can tell me if this is a fake galaxy note 2 or not. Because I can't seem to find any fakes that matches the device in the pictures below around the internet.
The inside of the device "battery compartment" is different than any version of galaxy note 2 that I can find in the Internet.
why dont u switch it on and have a look the firmware and kernel version?
Do you know which variant it's supposed to be? At first I thought it might be an n7102 but the back of that one is different.

Not to mention that it's black. I didn't know Samsung made a black Note 2. I thought they only made them in White and Titanium Grey.
And that home key looks bit more squared than on mine Note 2 White...
Looks like a fake to me. If ya look at the gap between the home button amd the screen it looks to big compaired to my white note 2. I first thought it was the note when seen the first screen.

Body shape is different than real sgn2. Pictures above are much more rounded than note 2. And yet there is not available black version.
Fake indeed :sly:

I like how they plaster the back of the phone with all their self made Samsung "seals" of approval.

The note 2 has had a great launch, there are barely if any complaints of hardware issues, the phone is fast, battery life is legendary, and they just added the multi window feature that everyone was craving for 5 days after the launch. Kudos to Samsung for an amazing device! How was your note 2 release experience?

The Note 2's screen is not narrower than the original Note, just taller.
How is the Note 2 less of a phablet than the original? Bigger screen, and it's even incorporating more tablet-like features over the original such as dual-window functionality.

screen is definitely an improvement, almost no black crush, and a very small amount of black blotches (when viewing the screen in a totally dark environment).
but: it's the same story as with all amoleds from samsung before:
you'll have the luck of the draw! it took me around ten (!) note 1 to find one with a decent screen! the screen quality
was different on each device i had seen!
same should applies here: one sample gsmarena got had a much more bright screen then the second one they got!
as soon as i got my hands personally on a few devices i will report how its with note2, although i guess it would be
the same!
I think I am getting used to the new screen now. I think the reason why I feel it's less like a phablet is because I have not yet rooted and so I haven't got the chance to change the dpi yet...;p

how to know if your galaxy s3 is new and never been used by other person ? is there shortcut key or option to know if your s3 is really brand new or never used ?
No. Nothing simple like that anyway. A smart person can reset the phone to a new condition without any problems.
Probably your easiest option is to look for physical signs of use.
Here's how:

Get a magnifying glass and search for scratches on the device. Also, if you find grime in the spaces outside the buttons, then its used. You can also check the microusb port on the phone, if the port has paint chipped color black then its used. Also if look at the camera lens for scratches.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I'd recommend just looking for scratches or marks.
I don't think you can always totally tell because where ever you bought it from couldn't just taken care of it very well.
A tell tale sign is the USB port though. Check to see if there's dust or lint inside of it as well.
I remember for my HTC touch pro 2 you could enter a sub menu that showed a life counter and manufacturer date. This information was not editable in any way shape or form other than by replacing the motherboard. Not sure about our phones though.

The best way is to buy a new one from a tmobile store.
One thing you could Adonis get thebimei and call Tmobile. Have them check if its in use. With gsm phones if you are the first to put in your sim card on a phone it will register with the system and with your number. That's one option is to call and check.

Ummm...quiet simple...if it came in a sealed Samsung Galaxy S III box, with all the hardware (charging cable, headphones etc) it's new. If your talking about refurb...there is a chance it's new...but 95% sure its a refurb if it comes in a plain white box with a return shipping label..
I'm coming from sprint, the code there is ##786# but doesn't work on tmo, I think have to be some code to check.

Yea, I mean for the size of the note 2 it's pretty light. But an even lighter phone would make one hand operation a little easier to use, allowing you to maneuver the phone around better with just one hand.

Hey,
I'm not a 100% sure but it could be a 1:1 size clone...
If you'll take a good look at the camera lens and compare it with the galaxy s4 you'll notice youre camera lens is slightly smaller than the cam lens of a s4.
Could you post a pic of the inside without the battery and one only from the battery...

I just got a used note 2 and from who I got it from he said that the screen was broke and he had replaced it but whenever I try to use the s pen certain areas of the screen the stylus won't write on. Its either not accurate or scribbles to the left or right of where I'm writing at. Since I'm new to the s pen and the note 2 touchscreen I figured I would get on here and ask to see what it could be. I'm thinking maybe the digitizer but I didn't know if its built into the screen replacement or if its built into the the actual LCD panel. Any help or comments are appreciated.

I tried the recalibrating and resetting solutions and it didnt work. I also bought a new s pen and still didnt work and when i tried to recalibrate it there wasnt anything to change like my first one. it just looked like a small circuit board with a button on it and thats all. Im guessing its a problem with the digitizer itself but since it works just fine with my finger ill leave it be for a while. just a shame i cant use the s pen for more precise doodling lol

I see a sensor board replacement that's pretty cheap, a glass/digitizer replacement that's also pretty cheap or all that plus a LCD panel that's crazy expensive.
