Push on/off button on top of the phone and keep it pushed till hardware buttons start to blink, then your phone will switch off.
Then using RUU, corresponded to your phone reflash it.
Do you know which CID you have?

032 .
The main version is more important !
Put the phone in the bootloader menu, plug in the cable ( it should say fastboot usb )
Then open up a command prompt in the fastboot folder on the pc and type
Fastboot getvar version-main
This gives the version of the ruu you need !
The cid is it *HTC__032 ? Or is it a branded one that starts with O2 or VODAP ?
Please give the whole CID & main version !

Hi there XDA,
I have searched and tried many different ways to help me,
but none have worked or are lacking in information for me to follow methods.
so i have turned to your general help!
i do not have any knowledge on how my phones bootloader was unlocked or any fastboot things at all, if you could explain to me step by step methods of using the fastboot option via connecting it to my computer to get it to work including files i need that would help.
well okay these are my problems.
~ I tried flashing a jdroid rom, with aroma installer.
it installed the rom but after i installed it it was looping the 'HTC' logo at startup.
what happens is i turn it on, it says "htc quietly brilliant" hangs for a few seconds, screen goes black then phone vibrates and it repeats.
i have a CWM flashed but whenever i boot into recovery it the cwm flashes on the screen for one tenth of a second and then it reboots and i get a loop of booting screen.
If anyone could please help that would be greatly appreciated! i have only had this phone for one week! and it is vital i get it fixed as i have alot of information in the SD card vital to my business
First, download the RUU for your phone (you should have it already as you got it before unlocking the bootloader, right?). If you didn't, then this is the first rookie mistake you've made
Second, relock the bootloader. This involves using fastboot which, again, you should how to use before doing anything that can potentially lead to issues. If you don't know how to use fastboot then check the threads in the Dev forum or Google it
Third, make sure the phone is connected in fastboot and run the RUU
This will get you back to stock and then you can start again (once you've read up on everything properly)
I tryed to install RUU yesterday with relocked bootloader to solve sense issue but did not get it work.
Tryed with 1.25, 1,28 and 1,29 but got error 120 and 170 (no USB connection and low battery even battery was 95%).
Any idea why?
Then I removed CID line in OTA and installed it by fastboot and sense issue was gone

If your friend unlocked and rooted your phone, he must have had the necessary tools on his pc.
Before trying other things, get your friend to run fastboot erase cache (or if you have the necessary tools run it yourself with your device booted in fastboot of course (volume down and power pressed))

Once you have htc sync installed or just thethe drivers boot into hboot. Click on fastboot plug in device. It should show fastboot-usb.
If you bootloader shows unlocked open cmd and cd to the platform-tools folder in the sdk and type: fastboot oem lock.
This will relock the bootloader and reboot the phone. Boot back to fastboot the run the ruu for your cid and all will be back to normal.

Hey guys,
A few months back I got a HTC ONE X and after an update I had multiple issues ( The 4.0.4 update ) which caused me to have to return the phone ( A day after I had purchased ) and receive a new one. I had no evidence that it was the update that caused this but for my piece of mind I steered clear of that update with the new phone and turned off scheduled update check.
After months of happily using 4.0.3 I think its finally time to upgrade my version of Android especially with Jelly bean being available for the phone. Being on 4.0.3 I know there is updates available yet when I check for up dates it tells me that my phone is fully up to date. The HTC is from O2 , and I can't see whats stopping my phone finding these updates. My network is working correctly ( Connected to wifi but tried searching on my mobile data as well)
Anyone got any ideas as to why this is not updating correctly? I knew if there was an answer then XDA would be the place to find it , thanks in advance guys ( and gals )
Have you checked multiple times manually for the update ?

Is your bootloader locked ?
The first ruu will bring you to android 4.0.4 then check manually for ota again to JB if that does not work you can run the second ruu . That's the JB ruu !
Tip : charge the battery to full before you start !

Hi,
Have you had the phone from new? If so it's definitely not rooted - you would know, if this is the case then I would presume your phone is SIM free too.
U would suggest downloading HTC Sync while your phone us not connected to get the drivers your phone needs the search on thus site for mini-ask.
Once you have them connect your phone to your PC and boot it by holding power and volume down buttons once in bootloader, select the fastboot option.
When fastboot usb is displayed open from pc a CMD prompt and type "fastboot Getvar all" you should see mire information about your phone. Look for bootloader number and compare thus to android roms on www.shipped-roms.com
Get a WWE RRU If this is appropriate to you and open the exe while following insructions.
Lets hope that us straight forward for you.
Apologies for frankness I am typing thus from my phone.

Though it should be as easy as booting the phone into fastboot and then connecting the phone to the computer - you should see Fastboot USB, when this is displayed it should just be a matter of running the RUU file and following the instructions. The battery should be charged over 30% otherwise you will get an error, stating so.
from there it is just a case of flashing the right one for your phone.
If using stock rom just flash Your Own RUU via Fastboot. if not;you are using a custom rom. Open that zip file and take out the boot.img file. And you need to do this via CMD
fastboot flash boot boot.img
this code will flash your kernel and fix the problem.
ps: I dont need to say that you need adb, fastboot files eh ?

Hi everybody! I would like to start saying that i remember did this long time ago and now i really dont know how to proceed. hahahahaha
I was looking to change my MildWild Rom to the Beanstalk for HTC Desire (Bravo), however i found the threat where it explains how to do it, but im not able to pass the first step since i need to install a Jmcclue Hboot 250/5/182, but when i use the BP99IMG method for that Hboot, my phone does not take it since it is S-On right now...
My problem is that i really dont remember how to S-Off my phone based on the current Boot information:
*** UNLOCKED ***
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.03.0003
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
DEC 21 2011
If someone could help me with this or give me a Threat where i can have more detailed instructions i would really appreciate it! :good:
First you'll need to downgrade your HBOOT to a version compatible with Revolutionary.
Download and install the PB99IMG 2.3 RUU by following the instructions here. Once thats done your phone will be back to stock HTC Sense, and in the bootloader, the HBOOT version should have changed to 0.93.0001 or 1.02.0001.
Let me know once thats done, and I'll give you further instructions.

Sometimes you have to wait a while. Turn off the phone, then go back into the bootloader by holding volume down + power. Once its there, leave it for a couple of minutes and wait for a prompt to install the file.

He already has unlocked bootloader, read first post, his bootloader details. So he'll need to relock his bootloader via fastboot command
fastboot oem lock
Then follow @Chromium instructions.

Im guessing u have adb & fastboot set up on ur pc. So boot ur phone into fastboot (back button + power) plug in ur phone to pc then open fastboot command window and type
fastboot oem lock
That will relock ur bootloader and then the ruu should work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658853
Just brought a HTC one M9 off eBay, its in excellent cosmetic condition, i'll get the basics out of the way quickly, it is already S-OFF, super CID, 401 WWE edition firmware, but the bootloader is locked, now I am very used to HTC one M7s and M8, but this download mode rubbish is all new to me, the problem is, when I power on the phone, instead of it booting normally, it just loops into the bootloader, ive uploaded some picts for you too see.
now when I enter download mode, there is no fastboot in the available options on the phone, so I cant issue any fastboot commands, like to unlock the bootloader, do I have any other options ? I also have access to the basic recovery mode, the HTC one, not TWRP or anything like that.
Also, does anyone know where I can find the 4.xx.401.x RUU for these phones, its not on the HTC website ?
Please help, or is this a lost phone and should I just send it back ?

For fastboot, treat download mode as fastboot. If you're having trouble with using download mode to flash something or boot something, use bootloader mode. For more details about RUUS, unlocking the bootloader, and using S-OFF to your advantage, take a look at the read me thread stickied at the top of the General thread.
(Note: You may or may not find RUUS for your phone, as they got leaked somehow.)

Try doing the same in bootloader mode, and check your drivers and executables.
The easiest way to get drivers is to install HTC Sync Manager and then immediately uninstall it.

Also, looking at the CID, the seller probably tried to flash stock firmware and locked the bootloader. You'll need to clean up after him.

thanks, ive installed htc sync manager now, also, my adb and fastboot maybe out of date, im using the 15 seconds install one, but had another look at it and saw its from 2013, do you know where i can find the latest versions ?, ive been using a Samsung for the last year or so which I absolutely hated, so went back to HTC, so you understand if im a little out of touch.

also, yes thats what im thinking too, they s-off'd the phone and super CID'd the phone, then locked the bloody bootloader, on a plus note, I just got a result in bootloader mode using fastboot devices command, gave me the serial number, but when using the fastboot oem get_identifier_token command it just gave me FAILED: (remote: unknown command), going to try in download mode now instead.
UPDATE: just tried in download mode too, now that also gave me a result when I typed fastboot devices, gave me my serial number, but when trying to get the token ID I got:
C:\adb>fastboot oem get_identifier_token
...
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] : /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/frp
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X00, disable unlock
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] oem unlock Turn Off!
OKAY [ 0.065s]
finished. total time: 0.065s

Oh well, wont even boot into download mode anymore, tried to flash the developer edition RUU, but says the battery is below 30%, so when I power down the phone to charge it, as soon as I plug the charger in, its booting itself back to the bootloader, not sure if its actually charging whilst its in this more, but id say the phone is pretty much fubar.

Just a stab in the dark but did you go into developer options and check oem unlocking?
As mentioned before, I can only suggest you to read the ReadMe thread. Of course, you can't flash a dev edition RUU in the current state. You're using the wrong MID.

I couldnt even get into download mode any longer after I reset the phone and tried to reboot back to download mode, I got as far as the black screen with the silver HTC logo and then it would just boot back to the bootloader, couldnt even charge the phone, everytime I powered off and plugged in the charger it would switch itself on, and the same for recovery, so just gave up and sent it back to her.
