I installed CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6, but once i boot into the recovery mode, I get the following lines after the options:
CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
And I can't make a backup and get a message "Can't mount /system" followed by the same lines above.
What can solve my problem ?

Thanks for your reply, is there a link or something ?
Because I want a trusted tried link if you have one
Use CWM 5.0.2.7 cuz itachisama's cwm 5.0.2.8 is ext4 and i think the OP is still in stock rom. Stock roms filesystem is RFS

I found this one in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650
"signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4+rfs.zip (Flash from Recovery)"
It should work perfectly ?
And should I use "apply update from sdcard" or "install zip from sdcard" ?
Done, works perfectly ^^

You shold install amon ra recovery.
It has much more options than clockwork.
It can even fix sd card errors.
You can find img file using search.
Then install it using unrevoked custom recovery option.
Then go for installing a new rom
Or you can partician sd card easily with amon ra

Seems that you may have a PVT4 device. I agree with the above poster, look for a newer version of ClockworkMod that will work with AmonRa 2.0.1 or flash the AmonRa 2.0.1 image with unrEVOked recovery and try again.

I have just the same problem as you have!
Only that I didn't try to wipe, I tried to preform a backup (nandroid backup if I'm not wrong).
Does any one know how to fix that problem without flashing a new recovery image?
And if not, should I falsh Amon RA's recovery using the unlocker's method about flashing custom recoveries?
Not sure how to fix it but yeah, try Amon-Ra's recovery instead as a lot less seems to go wrong with it. I have used it in the past and it had not caused me any issues, although, i tend to stick with ClockworkMod just because fortunately enough for me, it has not caused any problems and i prefer the frequent updates.

Check your hboot screen if your pvt1 - 3 try reflashing stock ruu, it could just be a badly flashed misc partition, i had a simlar problem once

Use AmonRA instead of CWM.
Your phone is a PVT4 model probably. Or use newer version of CWM.

I have sucefully rooted my galaxy gio and installed Clockworkmod recovery v5.0.2.6 and I can't do a nandroid backup. When I enter in the recovery it say's this:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
And when I start the backup it say's:

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/log

Is because of this that I can't do the backup?
Can someone help me? I'm a complety newbie with the galaxy gio.

phiexz has published one long ago,but still have a bug:cant mount sdext with ext4 filesystem, this can be fixed in fstab.
The Chinese are improving themselves!
I have the same problem. So that means if I will try to flash a custom ROM it will brick or it's safe?

That's weird. I use the ext4 only version and it can read my ext4 formatted sdext!

It took a long time to reply you,i means the rfs version at that time.
I cant mount my sdext(ext4) on rfs version.
Dear All,
Few months ago i rooted and installed some custom roms and after problems with battery I decided to back to stock rom.
I decided to install some new releases from sammobile. now I am using version 2.3.6, modem: S5660XXKTA, KERNEL: [email protected]#1, version: GINGERBREAD:XXKTL
Doing that i noticed error with mounting some folders in CWM notifications. I had such problems after every flash i did with Odin,
now I updated my stock and CWM reports error like always:
CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I think that there is more patch listed....
Please help.
im having the same problem on CWM 5.0.2.6
If you're on stock then you must flash a CWM wity RFS support.
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
it happen because stock rom using RFS file system that cwm that you install need ext3 or ext4 file system.
