Hello all,
Device configuration
Galaxy Nexus with Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version: I9250XXLH1
Kernel version: 3.0.51-franco.kernel-nightly-512GPU
Build number: MIUI-2.12.28 JZO54K
Problem
GPS of my phone does not work. With Google Navigation or Navigon application, the device looking for satellite without find one of them.
I try to check and uncheck Google's location service in setting menu and nothing, GPS searching loop indefinitely.
With others ROMs or Kernel, there is the same problem.
But, the GPS driver is lib_gsd4t_icecream.so
How to flash new driver for GPS chip and where to find the Jelly Bean GPS driver for GSM Galaxy Nexus?
Thanks a lot for your help!

no idea for this problem???
same problem here, any solution?
Dunno if it will help but in the OP for paranoid android is a link to 'fix' next to rom and gapps, its a flashable gps fix but i dont know if it works on other roms. If you search xda for gps fix or google galaxy nexus jellybean gps fix zip u should be able to find a fix you can flash in recovery. Heard a lot of people had gps issues after jellybean update so its a known issue with solution available.

Hello guys!
I have recently purchased Galaxy Nexus (White), the performance is flawless, the only issue I am experiencing with Stock 4.1.2 is that during calls my phone just reboots, by during I mean after 2-5 minutes.
So my question is does anyone have this issue? Does anyone have idea how to resolve it? Does this bug persist in custom ROMs? Or is it a hardware problem (I highly doubt there would be because in normal state it never reboots)?
I have found numerous users reporting this issue in Nexus S sub-forum but I have failed to find any relevant answer regarding thus issue in Nexus' forums.
Information regarding my device:
Baseband Version: I9250XXLF1
Build Version: JZO54K
Hoping for a positive reply!

I have the exact same issue, I mean i had if I may say, since 2 days I'm in safe mode because of this and no reboots since then.
I'm calling it with another phone continuously. If the phone seems ok in the next one day in safe mode, then some app can cause it and have to manually uninstall one by one to find the faulty app.
Hope it helps, You may try safe mode also.

Sorry, but I don't get anything
Anyone else?
*Sorry for MAJOR bump*
For all those looking for solution, the issue has been resolved by flashing CM10 nightly! Which means that there's some bug in the JellyBean OTA and not in the hardware.

Why bumping such an old thread. Anyway. Just flash the factory image via fastboot. This will wipe everything stored on the phone but will iron out any issue (most of the time). This is always recommended with a second hand nexus.

Hello everyone.
First of all, sorry for my probably bad English. (I'm from Ukraine, Sevastopol)
I installed ROM from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778202 the last release (42_R2)
It works fine, and i surprised of speed of my phone. Thanks people, who make this ROM.
But I have one bug, that I can't fix.
I had no working GPS.
What i tried:
this:
"Use GPS Status and in the menu>tools>manage A-GPS , do a reset. Then check that GPS are fixed." - from here. - not worked for me.
this:
Click - downloaded this link http://derekgordon.com/gps-files/agps.patch.google.build.cwm.v3.1.zip and success install it from recovery. - not worked (or I something did wrong).
How I test:
with program GPS Status and GPS test. In the second the indicator of power of GPS is Yellow (but GPS is ON and coordinates of wireless is on too), but I know, that normally it must be Green. And i have zero satelites founded for a long time ago. I tried to find GPS in a good weather, of course.
My information:
Phone: HTC DESIRE HD
Radio: 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Core Version: 3.0.59_JellyTime_42_R2-g9f22a5f-dirty [email protected]#2 Sat Jan 19 00:05:34 PST 2012
Could Anyone help me with this?
Try another ROM if it still doesn't work you can have problem with firmwire like I. I've wriiten about this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116148
I flashed orginal non-rooted rom and GPS has started work again. Next i've done root and restore rom and GPS work ! But camera still doesn't work
Try to flash the original pd98img.zip and after flash last version of jellytime r4....
As many of you know, since the 4.3 update, WiFi on the galaxy nexus stops automatically scanning after going into deep sleep. The only way to get it to scan again is to go into the WiFi menu or toggle it on and off. Let's try to find which change in 4.3 broke this on the galaxy nexus.
I have been looking through the changes that have been made between 4.2 and 4.3 to how wifi is handled and may have found what is causing the issue.
Right now this is not working. Trying to find the real issue
I think I may have found something. In /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant_overlay.conf
Theres a line:
disable_scan_offload=1 (has to do with allowing scanning to be offloaded to the driver)
This line didn't exist in 4.2.2. Change it to 0 and reboot and see if your wifi scanning doesn't stop working after a while.
I just ran an errand and it connected perfect when I got home which is usually when it stops working. I need further testing but would appreciate some more testers to see if there's a real change in behavior.

But now the question becomes what is Bug: 8725307
Ugh. Seems like this wasn't the culprit. Will have to start digging some more.

go to the wifi screen. in the bottom right corner there should be a 3-dot menu button. click on it and go to 'advanced'. there's an option 'Keep Wifi on during sleep'. Set it to 'Always'.

That's not the issue. I have that set to always.

Is that in the kernel itself or part of the OS. If its kernel I should let franco know since that is the kernel I am running and I recall a few weeks ago seeing that commit merged into CM. I wonder if the stock CM kernel already has this fixed.

OK, so this may be fixed in the stock CM kernel then and using franco is what screwed me up.

Hmm, I'm not so sure that would be the issue
The current wifi module (driver) should, without other interference, give you the SAME wifi performance it always has, no matter what android version
as far as i know, all modules are contained within the zImage of kernels which are fairly compatible over android versions, its the ramdisk that changes
4.3 kernels that use your rom's built in ramdisk (any kernel type) are relatively easy to port back to 4.2.2 and vice versa, but kernels that use a full boot.img are very very incompatible over different major android versions (usually you never get past the boot logo or at least get stuck in a constant boot loop)
The only issue i could really see with older wifi drivers would be some incompatibility with something in the OS, which would be more of a google issue (they DID push 4.3.x to the gnex and should have either updated the kernel or made 4.3.x more compatible with the older wifi module)
again this is simply educated guesswork here, and i could be entirely wrong lol

Its not the performance thats the issue. Its the fact that it randomly stops autoscanning. I think the newer 4.3.1 kernels and some kernels that pulled the updated wifi drivers fix the issue though.
Edit: never mind, this is still borked even on the 4.3.1 stock kernel.
Currently i'm using 4.3 on top of JSS15Q build though usually it happens very rare, the issue that's messing with NP is the HD playback Stuttering !
Doesn't seem to work for me :/
Hello XDA Developers,
i recently flashed a new kernel and installed a new rom on my xperia play as i wasn't happy with the performance of cm9.
Also i hoped to fix my problem that my compass is going haywire in Google Maps.
The speed of the rom is really great, but unfortunally the problem stayed.
Before you mention it, yes of course i have used Google to find answers to this topic. But nothing seems to work for me.
There are a ton of GPS apps that try to address this problem, but none did for me. No app was able to find any GPS signal even after several minutes of waiting.
Is there anything i can flash to eleminate this problem? Is there some specific prozedure to fix this with the help of the gps fix apps in the store? Do i have to wander around outdoors for 10 minutes to make it work or something like that?
Any help on this topic is appreciated.
Best Regards

I have no idea why gps wouldn't work, but you could try by flashing stock firmware with flashtool and see is it working.
If it's not working even on stock firmware, maybe it's hardware fault.
Make backup before you flash stock, so you could restore it later

Can anyone confirm that their GPS works at all? I can't get my GPS to work. It gets no satellites in GPS Test app on the Play Store. It can only acquire location by wifi scan, not GPS satellites. I have the Nexus 7 2013 32GB (flo) running CM12 without root or mods.
GPS not working
What with navbar settings? They ve disappeared
Having issues with Bluetooth and GPS here. Bluetooth is working but with lots of skipping. its not my player or my music stream. Same song plays fine with headphone and N7 speakers. And I also have totally lost my GPS, didn’t even notice until I checked with GPS Checker.
For having a working GPS you need to install another kernel until cm has fixed it.
I installed this one and gps work's just fine.

Won't Boot with SuperSu by Chainfire
Hi all, I have issues booting after updating from nightly to nightly. Here's the situation:
After updating from any CM12 nightly to a newer CM12 nightly, my tablet gets stuck on the boot splash screen (the one where it says Google and has the lock icon at the bottom) and I can't boot at all. I have tracked the issue to SuperSu by ChainFire. My SuperSu settings are attached below. Is this just me or is it everyone else too? If it is just me is there any way to fix it permanently rather than wiping /system and needing to re-flash everything all over again?
If you lost mobile data or gps sensors, please try this zip.
mod_bootcmd_selinux_permissive.zip
is simple zip to add "androidboot.selinux=permissive" to kernel boot command line.
mod_bootcmd_selinux_noneperm.zip
is revert permissive zip.
Thanks.
Cyanogenmod = Awesome !
I was disappointed with 1.23 nightly though 1.24 fixed it up, hoping that some apps that come with Cyanogen like the music player get a landscape setup; irritating that it rotates back to portrait. Nexus 7's a tablet! ,content is best in landscape hoping you guys could work on it
