Because T889 & N7105 are have same Qualcomm 9215 baseband chip, is there any way to Enabling LTE Feature on My Note 2 T889?
Not yet. We're expecting a software release sometime next year to do this. Who knows, maybe a dev here will figure it out sooner.

We can enable it, but there is no way to test it since there is no LTE on the tmo network. LTE has been present in tmo phones all the way back to the GS2 t989.
How? I have the canadian version of t_mobil unlocked using a telus sim but cant get LTE. Is it the NV data way. Was reading about it and seems a little above my knowledge.

I'm curious about this as well. I read the thread about enabling AWS on the i317, however all the files in that discussion seemed to be related to that particular phone and not for the t889.
I surmise that we need either the .qcn file from a stock i317 or the NV parameter to enable LTE.
Thanks in advance!

So I was in a tmobile store today and was told that both the note II and Gs3 will receive a software patch to enable the lte radio. Asked the question like 10 different ways as I've read online that the gs3 will NOT be let cab able.
the internal phone workings are a little above my head...but i was told that the tmobile sg3 is the same as say the att model which does have the lte radio,
So, does that sound right that the SG3 is future proof and will be able to enable LTE?

and that was from day 1? Obviously there has been debate about this on this forum and people much smarter than I have agued that it will never get LTE...
do you remember if there is something that has to be enabled? Or if say where I live they activate the LTE tower, boom it will work?
Its been a while so I dont remember the details, but I am convinced that
1. We will NOTget LTE one our GS3.
2. It doesn't really matter. By the time the majority of us get LTE in our market, we will have moved on to an even better phone! Also, most of us will get hspa+42 soon which for now is more than sufficient for almost everyones needs.

I think these threads need to be shut down. There are a number of other threads exactly like this that holds the correct information. Thanks Doc
I agree with Doc, we'll probably be on better phones by the time we have decent LTE reception -- and I'm happy enough with the DC-HSPA+ modem.
IMHO, they will likely release a Galaxy S3 [4G] LTE as an interm between the S3 and the S4. WRT LTE, all I know is what I see on Wikipedia's snapdragon article. Which isn't very clear on details. Also numerous MSM8960 phones /w LTE exist but do we even know if it's on die, let along bothering to crack open an AT&T and T-Mobile GS3 for a little hardware compare?
So afye reading this I have a question.... if you guys are saying that our phones arent capable then why on my phone (running frosty jb v7) are there 2 system apps called LTESettings.apk and LTETest.apk??? Maybe I am the only one. LTE is not very efficient. I am happy with 3g+++.Tmo 3g super sized is a very good system. My company provided LTE hot spot sucks bandwidth like no other. Be careful what you ask for.
Ok ima try to keep it as short and simple as i can. I have a stock T-999 s3 tweaked to perfection running of Net-10 prepaid with the bring your own sim. Not only that I have it network unlocked so no matter what sim i place in weather its AT&T, t-Mobile, straight talk ect. i have service, each service i can critique to its best functions. Now heres my point. I also have a US Cellular galaxy S3 , rooted, and no matter what i do or try i cannot get this specific model to run a gsm provider via sim card. Im no wiz, but i get the idea, and my idea is to take this phone that is not supposed to operate on gsm carriers and make it operate. A recent example of success doing so was with my Droid Razr Maxx HD, i was able to successfully root the phone but as you all know verizon does not support us gsm carriers within the united states , or even on their network for that matter they block it. however after flashing a different modem, i am currently running t-mobile with great service! So any talk of "its impossible" i dont need, negitivity is not needed. i am fresh to this stuff but it fascinates me. cutting to the chase, what needs to be done to this sgs3 model #SCH-R530U to make it operate and function on a gsm carrier within the United states. Hacking Manipulating and tricking is all welcome that what were all about. Ive tried several things changing to global mode, gsm only,, faking gps positions to outside the u.s. and apn settings among countless hours beyond and im at a loss.. please im open to ideas and suggestions hopefully one day we make every model capable as nevery other
I believe the issue you are facing is because that particular S3 does not contain the necessary GSM radio chip needed to use those networks.
According to this (and its a wiki so it could be wrong):
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III
That S3 does not have any GSM bands for 2G or 3G.
However, once T-Mobile launches its 4G LTE on the AWS band, it should work...assuming the 4G network is both voice & data over LTE AWS.
The RAZR does work cause it does have the necessary 2G/3G GSM radio chip.

Simply put, the Verizon galaxy s3 is the only variant that has both CDMA and GSM bands. So if you wanted to do what you're saying, it would be most possible with the Verizon variant.
But for what you want to do, you'll need a world phone. And I believe the Verizon s3 is a world phone. Just gotta "hack" the GSM bands. Since they aren't active by default. But your T-Mobile att s3 will never work on CDMA. Also not lte will most likely not work on other carriers.

Just wanted to let you guys know that LTE works beautifully on an unlocked ATT SIII.

Maybe a dumb question but arent radios flashable? Beings as the hardware is the same coukdnt we flash an att radio and rom and use our phones like they were an unlocked att version

Yes it can be done but i have had bad experiences with radios causing serious OS issues. If someone had an S III to test with that would be great.
If you flash a att radio on a tmobile phone, You might be dealing with a serious brick.

April Fools with a bricked S3! Don't know if I should laugh or cry...
Think the OP was just stating that his ATT S3 is working on TMO's LTE network...
The ATT has different hardware than the TMO S3...its not the radio software thats the issue...its the lack of a LTE antennae on the T-999
I believe the latest software update that tmo rolled out took out the LTE software that was in previous builds
While I don't thing we will get lte on our phones the thought of the hardware being different is hard to swallow. One of Samsung's deal with the s3 was hardware unity. With this they have one plant, one run to manufactur phones and when a carrier need a stock of phone all that was needed was software. This idea of a different model just for tmobile is hard for me to believe.
Once again I still don't see lte comung for us, so please don't assume I am giving any hope to get it

The Tmobile S3 has the exact same hardware as all the other US carriers including the antenna and modem, Tmobile just decided to use different lte bands. They will not enable the lte on the Tmobile S3.

If ATT S3 LTE can work on TMOB LTE network and T999 with same chip as ATT version.
sounds like TMOB trying to prevent S3 user to pull down they trial run LTE network.
and also prevent those people not in those trial site switch over other carrier.
I thought this was confirm a long time ago that the tmobile s3 doesnt support lte, As of an unlock att s3 to work on tmobile lte may be possible. if that the case It will be better off to sale or trade your tmobile s3 with an att version of it and you will have a s3 with lte
There will be a new s3 lte version of this phone at the end of this month...the current s3 is not the same as the att one so we will not have lte...

My Bell Plan, and my Bell Micro-Sim supports LTE.
I'm not sure a Tmobile modem would help you with that. Are your phone settings correct for LTE service on Bell? And, I guess, is it unlocked, with the right radio inside to connect to Bell LTE? I'm not familiar with Canadian carrier compatability.

The Mobicility/Wind/Videotron T889V's modem has LTE disabled just like the T-Mobile's T889's modem prior to the LTE update. There's a bug where flashing a T889, I317 or I317M modem through CWM or TWRP (Odin will fail before writing) leads to IMEI corruption and bootloops.
You've got some more searching and reading to do but enabling LTE has been done at least twice, by Rail205 and myself.

Can you possibly guide me on how you did it? And also, does your phone have LTE AND AWS HSPA, or one or the other?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
I do have both AWS LTE and HSPA from what little testing I've done with the latter. This makes sense given that's exactly the configuration used by T-Mobile.
Use the search engine, there's gotta be at least four or five threads about enabling LTE on the T889V.
Essentially this is an experimental and so far irreversible mod. So you're really kissing your warranty goodbye. And I will be of limited help if you (or I, by way of my instructions) screw up.
I'll send you a draft guide via PM if you're still interested. Consider getting an I317M and enabling AWS HSPA on it instead.

I think more than that, you have to enable the ATT LTE bands on the radio itself... that is a change made in the radio itself that doesn't change if you flash ROMs or whatever... ATT and T-Mobile use different frequency bands, so this may be all that you need to change... If you search here, I know I came across a thread about enabling those ATT bands... I don't have a T-Mobile Note2, so I didn't bookmark it... but I know it's on here...
Good luck,
Don
