Rooting Generic Tablet for Android 4.2.2 and A23
I have just got a Chinese Generic 9" Tablet with A23 Allwinner CPU dual core. Can I follow the same process as for ICS and JB above or do I need something different>. It has 512MB memory [DDR3] and 8 GB internal storeage. Could my smallish memory be an issue with this procedure?
Thanks & Cheers. JR

Help! Rooting Custom Android Tablet.

Hi I have a custom android tablet i am testing that was made for a company. I want to install 2.2 or 2.3 on it. The tablet says it has Froyo 2.2 but the home screen doesn't scroll like on any android device and a few things don't work on it. Here are the specs:

Cortex-A8 1GHZ

Help with firmware!
Hello:
I have the same android tablet as you have. Somehow, my internal sd card has been damaged and there is no firmware support anywhere for this tablet. I can replace the sd card, but I need the firmware and am looking everywhere but did not find.
Can you copy your folders in one zip or if you know a place where i can get the firmware, please reply.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Jbed for Unrooted DHD running Android 2.3

Could some please help me out with this. I can't run my banking application (java), keeps saying "maybe no SD card or SD card busy"
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Unrooted Gingerbread (Android 2.3.6)
I have Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 & a Galaxy SL I9003 both runs official Android 2.3.6 unrooted JBED (all versions) dont work .
For rooted device its already available. Both when it will be available for unrooted phones. I dont want to use custom roms as they contain little bugs and void warranty

[Q] Stock Advise Apreciated

Have just bought Desire HD but found it has been updated to Ice cold sandwich which appears to be buggy and missing items, so want to return to stock, i have two choices Orange or HTC which i have downloaded from HTC support site, presume HTC should be sim free and without orange bloatware.
I am on orange PAYG anyway so either way feasible and not particullarly interested in rooting at this moment in time.
Installed:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.14-LorDmodUE-9.4.1-ICS-BFS+
[email protected]#258 Thur Apr12 21:19:14 CEST 2012
Build number: htc_ace-userdebug 4.0.4
OPENMASTER eng
lord.20120418.160618 test-leys
IceColdSandwich-7.3.AOKP
CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v70)
Memory: 619MB
Little bit confused by HTC downloads because both downloaded Orange UK and HTC EU version appear to have the same name and size i.e.ace30-gb-mr-2.6.35-931a37e.tar.gz Type: MR Kernal: 2.6.35 V2.3 88.5MB.
This will be my first time to rewrite a rom so any advise from the experienced on here would be very much apreciated.
Well, if it has ice cold sandwhich it is already rooted. Search the thread, see what you like and flash it. Instructions on how to do it are in the first page of each rom/thread.
Sent from a dream.
As said not really interested in being rooted, advise sought on whether to return to HTC stock or orange stock in view of waiting for official stock ICS
Not interested in rooting? you realise thats a custom ROM so your phone is already rooted... Find a nice stable GB ROM, stock is generally terrible imo, I'd recommend Cyanogenmod 7 or MIUI

If you want something that is stock and will get the fastest updates possible (skip the waiting line for OTA, likely will get a leaked late beta of the official ICS OTA), I'd recommend Android Revolution HD 6.3.3.
If stock is what you want then flash an ruu. 3.12.405

[Q] Needing a kernel that supports swap memory for BLU DASH 5.0 D410

Hi folks,
I'm with a problem that is: I used Roehsoft ram expander in my Blu Dash 5.0 D410 with android 4.2 Jelly bean. This absolutely improved the game compatibility, speed and solved the problem of games and apps closing themselves.
It was ok until I updated to kikkat 4.4.2 with the manufacturer release (its BLU-D410a-v24-GENERIC)
Since I updated, the phone cannot create or either use a swap file.
I e-mailed the developer of Roahsoft for support. But he says the kernel I'm using now (Original kernel version 3.4.67) isn't compatible anymore with swap.
Now I need a kernel update that is compatible with Swap memory and 4.4.2 kitkat, because I don't want to return to my original jelly bean. I've noticed a sensible improvement of general speed of the phone. But my RAM is only 512MB, and returned to closing the games after 3-5 minutes of playing.
Someone can help me to install a new kernel that can solve my problem?
I appreciate any help!
Ps:. I'm a common user and my phone is already rooted.

[Q] How to upgrade to Android4.4 an Xperia phone from 2011

I have an Xperia Ray (2011) phone with unlocked bootloader.
The phone cannot upgrade automatically as it says that Android is up to date.
I'm new to this so I would like to know the detailed steps for installing Android 4.4 manually.
Any answers appreciated.
you gotta search if there is a KitKat ROM for your phone, here in the whole XDA page, if there is a ROM available, you will find also they instructions on how to do it
Google says Android 4.4 can be installed on older phones like this one with the respective specs.
By ROM you mean kernel?
I think a standard kernel is good enough, no special one needed.
But where can I download it from?
