Hello,
Try using one of these softwares:
http://lifehacker.com/5237503/five-best-free-data-recovery-tools
Good luck...
i have try the software u said.
but the problem is they dont detect the internal memory of the HOX.
after uptade to jelly bean when i plug the usb cable dont appear like in ICS for choose to charge or to hard disk.
so how to solve this?
thx regards
did you looked on pc also...? it can also be that you must update htc sync because of the mtb thingy.....second should be look for an sd speed app..and set it to 128 instead of most 2048.....
if that also fail...the data should be gone...maybe a wipe script that also wiped sd card or something like this
go into recovery and mount usb storage

what version of cwm...htc sync updated..?
yes htc sync is updated and the cwm is 5.8.4.0.
thx
so from that side all ok...if you are in a file explorer...and go to sd..you see something...? if yes..try to mount from clockwork...if not work...try to copy the files with adb
Tough luck brother, if all else fails then deal with it. Many, including me, have faced the same. Good luck to you.
When you mount the USB mass storage in recovery you have to stay on that screen or it will auto-unmount. Once you've done that load up Recuva from Piriform and scan for the phones storage on the pc.

When i connect HTC Desire to PC and press "Turn on USB storage" on the phone, screen flashes a few times and presents the same screen again (it doesn't switch to "Turn off USB storage") - i can't access my memory card when running ROM.
I can access all my memory card data if i use memory card reader or when in ROM, using any file explorer app. Also, i have no trouble accessing my phone via USB when in HBOOT or FASTBOOT.
Please help.
Additional phone info:
ClockWork Mod v4.0.1.4
Alpharev "Bravo CM7 r2" HBOOT
Memory card is formated: 7GB FAT32, 1GB ext3
So far i tried:
flashing few different ROMs (Oxygen, GingerVillan, F1)
formating the memory card using ClockWork Mod
and that didn't solve my problem.
EDIT:
I tried to connect the phone to another PC and it worked without a problem, so it must be something with USB drivers on my original PC. Anyone has an idea what to (un)install?
its is something to do with the permissions when the phone is in usb mode the phone cannot write to the sd card and so must be r/o and when u eject the phone from the computer the permissions of the sd card may not have been changed back to r.w ..
so to fix it just boot into recovery and do the fix permissions option in advanced menu
recall having a similar experience with my desire, I managed to copy my data(with show hidden files enabled in the windows folder options) from the SD Card and then format the card, then re-copy it back to the SD card.
Solved the problem for me.

Thanks for trying guys but none of the suggestions worked. It is definitely something with drivers on my PC, because on my laptop it works without any problems. So problem is not in the phone or memory card, but PC drivers. The thing is, i don't know which drivers i need to re-install.
Tried with the only one i see in Device Manager - "Android USB Devices - My HTC" but it didn't do the job. It re-installed fine, but there must be some other USB driver i'm missing to fix.
Try these here - http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
Look for - Windows users, please download and install these HTC fastboot drivers.
Sad to say but that didn't help either. I have a problem accessing memory card content when connecting to PC while ROM is running (tired several ROMs so it's not a ROM issue), when i'm connecting the phone to PC while in fastboot it works just fine.
Hi. I have a Samsung galaxy S i9000 running a Jellybean 4.1 custom ROM. androidadvices. com/ update-galaxy-gt-i9000-stable-jellybean-411-firmware/#.UDJOV91mT9d
Everything's working fine until today when my laptop (Win7 OS) froze up while I was formatting the internal sd card of my phone.I restarted the laptop and phone and the internal sd card cannot be detected by either device anymore.
I tried to format the sd card multiple times to no avail. I tried to flash stock GB ROM. ODIN can detect the phone but cannot complete the process. It fails on "Setting Up Connection".
Up to the above process I was able to use my phone (it turns itself on, just can't use internal sd card). However, I made a stupid mistake of doing factory reset, cache wipe, and dalvik cache to reflash the JB ROM in hopes that it will fix it. Now, my phone is stuck on the Welcome screen (one with Choose Language and Start to setup) but the touchscreen isn't working so I can't select Start. The buttons on either side of the center button works, though. Only the touchscreen function is not working.
Now obviously, USB Debugging is not set up on my phone so I can't do a lot. My first question is: Is there a way to setup USB Debugging using ADB or from Recovery?
Additional info:
Recovery and Download mode are both working, although like I mentioned above, I cant reflash stock ROM because of no usb debugging and it fails in Odin. File Manager can be accessed from Recovery but it has no internal sd card directory. External sd card is ok, though, as well as the system files. But cannot install from internal sd card (obviously), cannot format sdcard, or do anything that has something to do with sdcard. It gives an error "E:\ can't mount sdcard"
When I connect the phone to the computer via USB, the phone "knows" that it is connected because the notification beep sounds and on Computer, it shows a new drive name (F but it says "Please Insert a disk into Removable Disk F.", which I believe, means it can detect it but cannot mount the storage.
I can also use adb.
So my questions are:
-How do I get the touchscreen functionality back?
-How can I enable my internal sd card to be mounted on the phone again?
-(same as above) How do I enable USB Debugging from adb or recovery?
I know I have a lot of issues on my phone but I would really appreciate it if you can help me. Thank you.
Did you find a solution?

Hello guys
I just updated my Hboot to 1.28 and flashed clockwork recovery 5.8.4.0 using the Jelly Bean Firmware Easy Flasher & Fastboot Toolkit. But, when i entered recovery, i couldn't access my external storage. When i select choose file from SD, it says no files found. So i cant flash ARHD 12.0 which i have placed on my external storage. I booted into IceCold Jelly which i was using early. I cant access the storage even from there!
Plus i don't get any network now!
I am on the verge of panicking.
Please help.
Thanks in advance

I'm really sorry, i'm a bit of a noob. What is MTP? How will it help me in my case?
Okay i realised i have another problem. It only boots into IceColdJelly if i have the usb cable attached. When i disconnect it, the phone restarts and gets stuck on the splash screen.

MTP: Media Transfer Protocol.
HTC changed the way you interact with the phone in Jelly Bean. You no longer have Mass Storage access mode (let's call it "direct mode") to the phones internal SD card. Now with MTP you "ask" the phone for a file and the phone reads the SD card and send it to you. The same happens when writing files to the phone (childish but very easy explanation). The good point about this is that you can read/write files to the phone and it will still be able to read the sd card in the process (for opening apps saved in media storage or play music or ringtones...) but this layer in the middle of the proccess makes it mush slower...
In my opinion I prefer Mss storage mode...
Managed to fix it. After mounting/unmounting from recovery i could see my SD card (Which got wiped btw :'(. But, i had been warned.). Copied the ARHD file onto storage again and managed to flash and boot ARHD 12.0 .
Thank you for helping

Firstly Happy New Year to all on the forum, my phone has just had a disaster can anyone help please.
My AT&T Glide crashed today in town, and on reboot I couldnt see the MMC 32gb card, which I thought had been corrupted. Well it was, when I put in another 16gb card the phone wont mount it, then I noticed that the internal usb disk isnt mounted either or even recognised ??
Hows this happened and can it be restored simply do I have to download a new dev rom and re flash from the 1.18gb I have left shown on phone as I cant put it to MMC card.
My phone has custom firmware Osimood.0122.RUXKJ5 which has been great up until this MMC sd card crash.
Any help gratefully received as its my work phone and I need it up and running asap.
Many thanks
Paul
Can you boot into cwm? I assume you have it installed. See if you can access the internal sd card from there. If yes then most probably a simple flash will fix everything, or even a nandroid backup assuming you have that as well. If no its not seen in CWM, then I do not know someone else will have to chime in, seems like something is very wrong for it to suddenly lose its memory. Could be some type of controller our buffer that went.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Thank you for your reply, I went in to CWM and can see an update file on a the sd card so technically if I get the Osimood zip file I could reinstall the system but I am unsure which disk it is seeing this file from I dont think its the external MMC or internal USB so how to I get the file on a storage area that the phone can see.
On the phones settings, under storage pane, USB now has the option to Format USB storage, this has appeared since mounting the system files etc within CWM as most were set to unmounted, but it would not let me mount the sd card as far as I could tell from CWM, when I go to update system menu the option to install update.zip but which disk is this as I could not mount any disk from CWM to view mounted files such as directories etc.
I am in the process of recovering the MMC card that the phone crashed so not all is lost, but I am pretty sure there were files in the Glides USB storage that I would like to save if possible, if I format this storage I am unlikely to recover whats on it, but would a straight reinstall of Osimood format this disk anyway ?
One last question does anyone know what the option "download" is on the power off menu on Osimood it is along side recovery, reboot and power off etc.
ATB
Sorry one last thing I have noticed, when in storage settings SD card has the option to mount when selected it says preparing sd card but nothing actually happens the notice just goes and I'm back to square one, USB has no option in the menu to mount just to format.
I hope that the above is significant in what has happened here.
Thanks
Boot into CWM, enable "mount USB storage", then use a PC to check the internal storage for filesystem problems.
If that doesn't fix it, next step is to factory reset I'm afraid.
Hi everyone, thank you so much for all the assistance I have been at work and therefore forced to format the internal disk which once down the ext sd card became visible again ??? once reinstalling the apps again all is well again, my biggest issue is that all the sd card app back ups failed me as it wiped the ext sd card the internal was wiped on reformat so had to start again.
Note to self back up apks to computer is much safer the ext sd card.
Just hope it doesnt happen again the apk shopper was the culprit that crashed it all.
Many thanks brilliant forum.

Which recovery do you have, think that Philz have sideload option. Go to recovery, select sideload and transfer rom from pc to sd and then flash.

If you use windows pc, go to Control Panel and find Auto Play, in that you can find "Device" and changed setting " Ask me every time". If so when you connect the device with PC windows will pop up waning for "Formatting Disk" and just chose "cancel" only.

So you didn't wipe the system, you can boot into rom and use phone? I thought that you wiped everything and have no rom on sd card to flash, that's why i told you to go to recovery and transfer rom to sd from sideload and flash, obviously you have some other problem.
Just go into recovery and format the sdcard then mount the sdcard in the mounts and storage menu ! Why so difficult
That's what i meant
Sorry, This is going to sound completely noobish but how do I format the SD card in recovery ??
Edit: Found the format etc, when I go to format it says error mounting /sdcard
UPDATE: I dont know how this worked but I reinstalled stock recovery OTA and my problem has resolved its self. Thanks for all of the advice guys
Nice
