Dan Brutals new ICS ROM - Awesome!

I highly recommend that you check out Dans new ICS ROM he has posted over at rootz. Best one I've tried so far, without a doubt. Just thought I'd let yall know!

what makes it better than stock ics or any other rom?

capcanuk, does the camera / video recorder work?

Anyways... Please come back and tell me what you think after flashing! All of the Aosp components are killer, drop down could use some themeing but that's it. Crazy fast, and fully functional so far!

will it work on a skyrocket? I would want to put it on my friends phone.

I tried this ROM, and liked it, for Reboot/Shutdown worked perfectly on it. Had to revert back, though, since Poweramp wouldn't work (or any other Music Player).
I don't know if you guys are gonna get the same results.
Even the camera FCed on me. Followed all instructions to the letter.

Did you restore the apps from Titanium backup? I installed this last nigh and it ran great, then I started restoring apps from Titanium and it blew up on me. Lock ups and FC everywhere. When he says not to restore apps from Titanium, he means it. The rom does not like it.

unstable..a lot of app crashes and i can't even get shutdown/reboot to work after 2 superwipes..

It works great I'm just waiting on the rest of the theming on the pull down 14 toggle icons.

You can try my method. It happened to work great!
I flashed the AOSP_Patch provided in the thread.
Then, I flashed this theme over the Rom, following the instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568128
Then, I reflashed ASOP_Patch.zip while formatting cache and dalvik cache, fixing permissions,etc. to get back the AOSP apps
You can see on my screenshot attached to my post.

I never use Titanium to restore--or even back-up--anything.
I fired up the ROM, after installing the patch (the reboot after the 'setting of the ROM'), synced in Google, went to download Poweramp, tried to fire it up.....nothing.
Tried all that twice.
I really liked that boot animation, too....

The only thing I see not working is tethering.Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

On-topic: Any issues with call echo or audio problems.
Also, I notice that many of the ics ROMS I use actually have very weak vibration. Like unnaturally weak. The vibration works fine on gingerbread but on roms such as BlackEdition the vibration isn't noticeable at all

+1 AMEN to that Bro! TW is actually way better than it was even on the gs2 & the Note, but I'm definitely looking forward to AOSP love¡ TW is ALOT faster on the S3 than any other custom skin I've ever seen!
The rom looks real nice though Protek, and will probably be the first I'm gonna flash. I've been watching roms pop up, but holding back because performance is really already there on stock. A bare bones build like this is really the only thing that could improve our phone without moving into something without TW altogether. (At least in my opinion).

cause its included in lots of peoples plans like me.

Flashed this last night before bed and the only thing I am noticing is I cant change the lockscreen wallpaper. I go to crop the selected picture and finish and it just creates that picture in the gallery and doesnt change the actual lockscreen. Anyone else get this?!

Have you tried uninstalling it via Titanium? I know you can't uninstall it using the stock rom, but I'm curious if you can using this rom. I hate it too and wanna get rid of it. It'd be nice if it can be uninstalled for those of us who DON'T use it.

Hmm i didnt have that problem at all. Did you do a full wipe before installing.

Edit (November 30, 2012 8:51 AM EST) - For those that are looking to install, I'm running this on an AOSP based ROM (BlackBean) and it should work just fine for other AOSP ROMs as it originally came from the Galaxy Nexus. You are free to try it on your Touchwiz ROM but like any other flashable mod, you know the disclaimers. No need to spell it out for you.
Also, I don't care to hear it didn't work for you without anything else to amplify. Those comments are completely unnecessary and litter up a possibly useful thread. Matter of fact, I'll report the offending posts from here on out. Posts like that are what caused Justin860 to have his inverted app thread locked up.
In short, if you don't post something helpful, GTFO. Thanks.

Try fixing permissions.

Flashed on rootbox and didnt theme the keyboard. Ill try extracting the apk.

Same problem on CM10-FXP149-nozomi...
-fixed permissions from recovery (still had FCs)
-used Link2SD to "Convert to user app"
-fixed permissions again from recovery
Magic! it works! Love the inverted color look.
If I had to do it over again, I would try extracting the apk from the zip and installing as a normal user app to see what happens.

I know that feel buddy, over 600 downloads of my motoblur launcher port but only a few thanks...gratitude is helpful just to know that your work is appreciated...and FWIW, the thanks button has been smashed.

No, they don't need to be. As that would be impossible to do, even on a stock ROM like if you downloaded an app from the app store.The point is, for the most part, the MAIN parts of your phone, SMS, calling, Facebook, Music, etc are going to utilize better memory management + and in return, better battery.
You may however, use Titanium Backup to integrate Dalvik into ROM, then run OdexMe by Paul. (not integrating Dalvik into ROM will cause a soft-brick bootloop) as far as re-odexing is concerned.

Going to give this a try! Was running a CM10 nightly from a week ago, and it's starting to give me a bunch of problems (camera FCing, battery drain all of the sudden). Flashing now, and will see what happens!

Yeah I was afraid to try the nightly. I odexed this so hopefully stability should be somewhat increased.

Quite possibly. Check the MD5 checksum?

Yes it has native tethering. If it doesn't work for you, try Barnacle WiFi tether. I will soon be implementing jovys fix to it

You guys making sure to do a clean flash? This flashes LeanKernel with it.Try fixing permissions?

I did three clean flashes last night and no gapps showed up. Tried flashing the latest gaps and got a bunch of FC's. I fixed permissions and did the dalvik & cache wipe. Would definitely want to try it out when you fix it.

I flashed this about a week ago and everything was working fine EXCEPT the bluetooth pairing with my car. For some reason, Pandora was not playing the song but move to the next (like someone was holding down the "next track" button) every seconds when paired.
I moved back to CM 10.2. Anyone know how to fix this bluetooth problem? I really like this rom.

I installed this rom a couple days ago. Pretty nice, a few more options than other roms I've tried. Camera recording & playback didn't really work for me, I installed replaced the camera & video apps, with other apps, problem solved...
wasn't crazy about the built in red theme so I installed a blue theme to replace it. My play store & search bars etc were inverted to black as a result. Think it looks cool though tbh

Have updated to 20140311 a little while ago. As with 07 and 09 HellKat Interface still FC's. Seeing so many updates coming out back to back i assumed this was being addressed but am wondering, since I am using CWM 6.0.4.3 Touch, if I should be using TWRP 2.7.0.0 or will it not make a difference to fix this? Have not installed any apps after updating this time and tried many different combinations of a clean flash as well as dirty in the past with no difference. Since i can't post in the dev thread for this, i thought i would post here. Thanks

Pretty good rom! It's working well, though I installed 20140311 with messed up interface. I'll either grab 3/1 when I get around to it or wait for the next update. I also updated TWRP to 2.7.0.0 so I guess I'll be needing to downgrade it.
