[Q] Xperia PLAY to Bluetooth Gamepad - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an app that can convert the Xperia PLAY into a Bluetooth game pad? I have tried tablet remote and this doesn't quite work. I am looking for something that will make my Xperia's controls mappable on another device in games like dead trigger. This maybe a bit far fetched but I think this would be a cool app to have.

You could always just, well, play Dead Trigger on your Play. It's a bit far-fetched but it just might work
Joking aside, I don't think so :S

I heard BTController can do it, but I don't know if it transfer the hardware buttons as well.

Use BT Controller. The developer created a fix for our circle button too. I use my Play as a controller for emulators being run on my Asus Slider.

Who says we need powerful GPUs? (OnLive available on android)

Something I posted in the Nexus S forums but thought this is quite fitting for Galaxy Nexus guys for obvious reasons...
Yes I understand GPUs are important for other things. Thread title is a joke. But check this out...OnLive . Basically OnLive is going to try running their services to tablets (doing the game computing in the cloud). I am totally willing to try this! Imagine xbox/ps3 like games on your tablet or even your phone.
I tried running the app on my OG Droid, but it just stays at the loading screen.
So I'm still a little confused on how it works.
are the games being computed on the device? or is it all being done on their servers and so the app acts as a VNC or a remote connection?

Lucky. I can't even find it on the market. From what I gather, OnLive does all the computing on their servers and sends it to your tablet so basically your tablet is just a screen with controls.
Think remote desktop but with heavy compression and geared for speed. It works fine in some games but probably not so great at reflex games or FPS. Onlive has been around for a while.

When I start games on OnLive it says that I have selected a game that requires controler and the game does not respond. Is there some virtual pad that could simulate controls on the screen? I would like to play games with onscreen controls, shadowgun way, rather than carry pad with my phone.

There are 3 different game types. Ones that require a keyboard/mouse, ones that require a game pad, and ones that are optimized for touch. Some games support all three, some support only two and some support only one. You need to find the games that support what hardware you have on hand. Obviously on a phone you're limited to touch and maybe some mouse based games.
I played Dirt 3, which of course is a very fast paced game, on my tablet the other day. It played just fine. No lag at all and very responsive. Only issue were the actual controls. Little hard to use the virtual controls for such a game.

Samsung Note gamepad for emulators??

Well found out that it would be cool to play psx games with FPse emulator, works great) on Note with psx gamepad or even to play anything with gamepad on Note,
first to ask you did anyone tried any of this this?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Joystick-it-...ht_3658wt_1193
or
http://www.amazon.com/Joystick-Touch.../dp/B007KCSJI6
Looks like it could be a cool thing...
And second thing, did any one tried to connect any normal gamepad (via bluetooth or via USB), does it works?
I'm not sure which one to buy?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Phonejoy-And...ht_2796wt_1185
or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Wireless...#ht_5260wt_952
or any other on ebay....
does anyone has some ideas?
There are a few threads on this already, for more information.
Personally I have an iControlpad. And it works great.

I bought this. Works great. Awesome controller for Minisquadron!
In my opinion, nothing beats a ps3 controller with sixaxis app.
Screen controls are just amazing.

+1 definitely agree with that. just sucks cause in some countries the ps3 controllers are terribly overpriced. managed to pick on up off of amazon for 30 bucks with a USB cable and an HDMI cable included.
Hi. Where can I find the sixaxis app?

Pretty sure they mean this:
Sixaxis Controller
I'm also using the sixaxis for emulator type games on my note and it works great.
After a lot of positive comments about the PS3 controller and the sixaxis app i have rooted the note and got the ps3 controller connected via the sixaxis app.
So, then i got n64oid emulator but now am having intense issues setting up a basic N64 controller map with the sixaxis app.
I understand the basic concept of making a keymap, but when i load a screen shot (from any orientation) it always loads in portrait, not landscape mode, and so i am not able to setup the buttons.
Anything boneheaded i am doing here?
EDIT: [solved]
Anyone struggling with creating the seemingly simple N64oid mappings on the sixaxis app, i can confirm that the droid map in this post works fine on the SGN http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22204123&postcount=23
EDIT: [screenshot orientation fix]
settings>edit background> tap centre screen

While in the touch mode edit screen hit menu and choose edit background. The button in the middle is a 90 degree turn each time you press it took my a bit to find it to haha

[Q] Best app to use it as a PC gamepad?

I was wondering what's the best app out there to use the xperia play as a PC gamepad, including the option to use the accelerometers as a wheel/flight stick/kind of analog pad, obviously the hardware button and, if at all possible, use the analog pads in the xperia play

As far as I know splashtop gamepad is the best in this purpose.
Suggestion
Try Njoy for me works
But njoy doesn't use the accelerometer, right? I was trying using Droidmote, which does, to control Dirt 2 with accelerometers, but I also have to mess with the whateverthatmakesitlooklike an xbox controller on the PC side. I'll probably mess with it some time during the weekend.
set tilt left and tilt right to any left/right button. hope u understand my crap english and hope it helps

[Q] Nexus 7, Sixaxis PS3 Controller and Real Racing 3 game

I would like to ask about using ps3 controller in Google Nexus 7, i already did check the compatibility and then bought and run the sixaxis pair tool, and pair the device with ps3 controller. I think i followed the instructions well.
But when i tried it with Real Racing 3, it doesnt seems to work? Am i missing something?
By the way, i can use the ps3 controller in navigating in OUTSIDE the game in my device, (like when im in the homescreen) so thats confirms the connection, right?
I havent tried it with other games yet, do i need to do something else to make it work?
Please help me. Thanks in advance

First, download sixaxis compatibility checker in google play store, its free, when it is, go download the sixaxis tool to perform the pairing, i forgot the price, but its worth it, you can google it.
And to making it work, creating your own touch profile is better, you can do it in sixaxis tool settings, take a screen shot of your play screen, with the touch controls in it, much better, if not, just remember where the touch controls are located then you can go assigning the ps3 controls button to the touch control points of the game, in short, instead of using your finger, the buttons will be the one doing it.
Then save it. then go back to the main menu of the Sixaxis tool, the part where the Start and Stop is located, then on the part that has an arrow down, tap it and select the touch profile youve made. And thats it, it works perfect for me, hope it does to you too.
can I use your profile for real racing 3 for six axis?

[Q] XPlay Gamepad as MOGA?

Hi. I wonder if it would be possible to make apps believe that the gamepad on xperia play is a moga controller. I want to play Portalize with the gamepad, moga optimized, but not Xperia Play...

try to remp hardkeys in gamekeyboard
for example: cross button > Button "A"
circle button > Button "B"
Cant test right now as I have just sold my play but if tincore mapper works on the xp you can use that. In settings there is a gamepad mode and you can make the games think you have a moga, dualshock, shield or ipega. I use it for my s7300b but Im not sure about compatibility on the xp. Games normally come up with 'gamepad detected' and show the moga controls when it is set up. Hope that helps

If you don't want to root then you're missing out. Besides, Tincore Keymapper requires root, that's why it crashed.
__IMPORTANT________
This application requires root for advanced mapping modes.

Also I have emailed Heaval, the developers of Portalize, with some links about optimizing it. So if nothing else shows up I have to wait for an answer. Still Thanks for your support!
Rooting is so easy and there are no drawbacks. Opens your phone to so much more, and tincore is awesome

The problem with Xperias crashing is fixed in the latest version (3.1.4)
About root. There is no other way to simulate a controller.
Could someone explain to me how to use this app? When I install and run it there appear mouse cursor on my screen (I cannot move with it and I don't know how to disable it - if I uncheck mouse pointer in settings, nothing happens) and if I open the app from notification area, there is no options called MOGA or something like this, only some settings which has no influence so I don't really know what is purpose of this app...
I want play Portalize with gamepad too, but Gamekeyboard has settings only for "gamepad to Xperia gamepad" but haven't "Xperia gamepad to gamepad".
