Latest firmware updates - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if the latest batch of updates rolling out on sammobile today for the N7105 fix the exynos abuse problem? ? They seem to be rolling a lot out and have updated a couple of 4.1.2 that have already been released
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app

try using exynos abuse root app to check it.

Thanks was going to but thought I'd ask before I downloaded one. Not really worth updating unless its fixed

it's exploitable on 4.1.2 n7100. not sure about n7105.
hope i helped. if i did hit thanks.

Just updated to the late firmware release. The exynos abuse app says the problem is not fixed but if the fix is in the kernel then it will still say this anyway I think

from the developer department you can found the latest frimware

You can patch it via the soft but then camera won't work.

Rooted a n7105 with exynos abuse app and checked both ( disable exploit and disable exploit on boot.) after installed.
No camera issue !
Try this if dont fix your camera..

OK so I've seen that they can use T-Mobile ROMs on their phones using a patch. Is there a way for T-Mobile note 2 to use theirs???

I have no Idea bro. I know with At&t roms you should have no problem installing. Sometimes you may need to edit the update script so that it can reflect T-Mobiles Note 2 and not the At&t's.
But not sure, I had no clue that they had a patch. Very interesting.

I used a sprint PA rom before, worked okay. Needed to flash tmobile radio and kernel, then an APN app as the settings FCed on my when trying to set APNs. Not sure if others would work the same though.

Edit update script and install kernel and modem they work but you wont get a stable room it will freeze alot or botlop its al depend if you want to tried it or not
---------- Post added at 10:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:03 PM ----------
And to edit update script you will have yo replace it with a tmobile update script and that will depend on the room you choce for example if it is cm10.1 room yo have to use a tmobile cm10.1

Yes they work. I tried all us carriers roms on my tmobile note to and they all function like normal tmobile roms. Steps.... wipes chaches, install rom, install modem and tmobile kernel. And all works flawlessly. Im running jellybeans8 in the verizon forums now for 3days. No bootoops, no fc.

OP updated. Root works!
What's different.. Is it more updated than the latest nexus 4 4.3 leak
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Different first Google setup screen (removed Gmail background, Backup and Location, Communication setting on same page)
Takes bit longer to get first data connection. APN is there.
No SELinux
Market version is old 4.1.10. N4 leak has 4.2.3.
Wayyyyyy smoother animations... 60fps I am pretty sure.
Wallet works fine without modifications.
Imdb and Dash clock widget now works (didn't on previous 4.3 Leak)
---------- Post added at 10:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 PM ----------
I'm watching the cores with CPU-Z and at rest only only core zero is working after my rom settled in for about 15 minutes. WOOOHOOO!!! Hopefully this means battery life is fixed! With previous 4.3 leak at rest at least 2 sometimes all cores firing at rest. Oh and OH so buttery smoooooooth!!

BTW running this on a Bell CDN i337m. I just launched the camera and it paused with a "Please wait upgrading camera firmware" for about 20 seconds and the camera is working awesome so far.
Running great. Finally the TouchWiz parts are almost completely removed. Only one part left and that's occasionally the text color on the send button is white instead of black. They're almost there.
Sent from my GT-I9505G
CONFIRMED wireless charging now works when powered off!!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!! It would freeze and turn the screen white with lines and massively overheat the battery with the previous leak!!!

Thanks for testing it! Guess we know now that the modem doesn't work. I had removed post since it was not related to this thread.
Were you on a 4.2.2 ROM or this 4.3 ROM (based on your signature you were on a GE ROM)? Also there was no issue when flashing?

I flashed that zip and it flashed successfuly but baseband shows amdj. I should know better I flashed mg8 via mobile odin yesterday and had to odin back to stock to get my baseband back from "unkown". Obviously in my case the flash didn't take as i still have radio and mdj baseband.

is SGH-M919N THE SAME AS SGH-M919?

I bought a samsung galaxy 4 from metropcs and i would like to flash it over so i can upgrade it 4.3 and just have my way with my device, but i do not want to mess it up. So i would like to know if sgh-m919n is the same as sgh-m919 and if so is there any way i can root my phone?

They are similar but not the same. I believe you can use the same root method, though.

how can i get that? if you dont mind me asking, any link?
thanks in advance
The aosp roms are in the "original development" forum. The samsung touchwiz roms are in the development forum.
Btw in case you didnt know, it's not as important to be on the latest android version anymore because google moved major features into apps in the store. A good example is like google search, the siri competitor, and everyone gets it the day its updated. 4.3 and kitkat don't really add much over 4.2. They look almost exactly the same and the new stuff has really specific uses that most people dont run in to. Almost no apps require it. I'd suggest getting a 4.2 touchwiz rom like infamous or wicked.

They are practically the same.
Physically they are almost identical except metro doesn't have any carrier branding on the outside (a plus). T-mobile is on MDL firmware and Metro is on MF2, which are similar but not identical.
Most 4.2.2 roms have most of what 4.3 offers and even 4.4 in some cases. Although with tmo finally updating to 4.3 next week, I'm assuming most roms will be updated shortly.
While there is always a chance for problems, rooting/flashing roms is fairly easy if you take the time to read/watch a video or two. Chainfire jokes that it should only take 30 seconds to root a device with his method and he isn't exaggerating, but doesn't mean you should rush.
Here is a run down of how I rooted and sim unlocked my 2 metro S4s. Both running on Hyperdrive rom with faux123's kernel.

ATT Pushing OTA Update Today

ATT just tried to push an OTA update to my Note 2. I don't know what is in this update. I suspect it is 4.3. At least one of the local dealers told me they expected it any day. Unfortunately, with my rooted phone and missing some ATT bloatware, ATT OTA updates always fail for me. They download OK. But when they try to install it fails.
Did anyone else get this update? Do you know what it is?
I will probably just take one of the 4.3 (or 4.4) ROMs from here. But I am curious what it is.

Are you rooted with Stock UCAMH3?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Yes I am stock and rooted. But I have deleted a bunch of the ATT Bloatware. My understanding is that updates won't install without some of that stuff. Apparently it checks during the update process. I don't really want to reinstall all that junk just to get the updates.

The S4 Actives had the same problem when we all went to a pre-release firmware... Could download current firmware OTA but failed on install. Only solution was to go to the Samsung rep at best buy to force the update (with their secret software).
Any idea of the size of the update that's being pushed?

Well the firmware is already available.
But the devs will need time to pull it apart and make flashables from it
And there will also need to be testing with how the newer radios work.
And potential issues with being on the older bootloader for those that have not updated due to Knox.

But if you update with 4.4 from samsung and have Knox it will void that.
Everything else should work though.
I, like many others, are not trying to get into this whole Knox thing.
I am just wondering if it will work okay with the old radios.
