[Q] Voip on GN2, using only Tablet Plan?!? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
Anyone have success using only a Tablet Plan for their Galaxy Note 2, and use Voip (like Google Voice) to make phone calls?!?!?

You can make sip calls using wifi or 3g data plan.

[Q] Nexus S (GingerBread) Wifi calling

This is a Request
Can someone please create a App, or alter the old G2 apk file to make it so that the Nexus S can make wifi calling through T-mobiles wifi deal (like what was done with the Nexus One here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807116) so that people, specifically me, can preform wifi calls over the Nexus S in places where there is no service? As well as if you figure out a solution that can send and receive both texts and calls, will you please provide directions on how to make this work? I would greatly appreciate if someone would do this. Thanks
Again this is for the Samsung Nexus S (gingerbread android) to make wifi calling through t-mobile's system, not through 3rd party stuff that charge you to make land line calls and don't allow you to receive texts, such as skype.
+1
I was using the Wifi Calling you referenced on my Nexus One and fell in love with it. I just upgraded to the Nexus S and that's the feature I miss the most.
I think the Vibrant on T-Mobile also has wifi calling, so it may be easier to port over from that device since it's also made by T-Mobile.
Thoughts?
few times been around that track

SIP / Wifi Calling for ICS

Hi All--
I have configured SIP calling through pbexes.org using the native implementation in ICS
However, I'm running into a little trouble, and was hoping for some help:
Anyone know how to DISABLE sip calling while on 3g, and only have it active on Wifi?
Also, I can only seem to get it to make 'internet calls' (sip) when I have DISABLED calling from google voice. weirdness.
Mine its setup to ask how I would like to make the call, via cellular service or voip.

accesspoint to 3g sip connection

Hi you clever guys
I have a rooted Samsung gts5830 - android 2.3.3 setup as a access point and it is connected to a 3g network by a data connection. I want to use a Samsung pocket (gts5300)-android 2.3.6 to make sip calls by connecting by wifi to the gts 5830 and then to the 3g network. I can make sip calls with the gts5830 but fail to get a registration with the gts5300 over wifi. What is the reason and how can I achieve my goal ? Any help will be appreciated
Maybe a few months too late, but is it clear YOU cant use internet when you are hosting a wifi spot? That's what I understand from your text

Alternative to T-mobile Wifi Calling for signal deadzone

I work in a small office in the middle of a building. There are no windows and apparently the only provider you can get a signal with at our current location is AT&T. I can't hook up my picocell I got from Tmo and don't want to use any alternative call forwarding services, as I'm already using Google Voice and don't want to add more on top of it. Is SIP internet calling a possible option?
What about Skype?

If you are already using Google Voice, the easiest option is to just buy Groove IP, then instant wifi calling.
Or, bongostl made step by step directions for getting it to work with SIP for better call quality:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684550
SIP VOIP services can be an option but are a bit clumsy. Lots of info in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646755
If you're at a PC you can always use the Google Voice number with Google Talk to make calls.

Using HTC EVO to take calls from another phone via bluetooth?

I like telna mobile for calls and texts but the GSM phone I have is kind of a dog (original Exhibit 4G wifi cannot hold a connection) I was wondering if I could just get a small dumbphone and tether to make and receive calls from it on my evo...
