[Q] Memory cleanup - HTC One V

There is 8 GB microsd card on my phone but whenever i connect it o my pc & check its property it says only 6.61 GB.
I hardly have music, images, videos that are something upto 4 GB & i want to clear up the mess. Any suggestions?
As i dont want to do Factory reset. How can i know which folders on sd are not system related & can not cause any harm if deleted.
PS : M on a rooted one v. Thank u.:silly:

the problem is with my memory!
do you know of any app to SUPER WIPE this freaking memory????
do you know how to format it with command ?
i flashed my phone and it still wont format this memory....
its like all the files i have in my memory are super secure and they cant be deleted unless i unlock them... but idk what the heck happened...
all i remember is that it started to happen after i flashed my note and then i was downloading the radio and then every time i would go in CWM the radio file would not be there so then i rebooted the phone to check and then the radio files was not there......
i tried that like 4 times... now im at the point that i dont care and im trying to delete everything just to solve this...
this memory is just like 2 months old.... its a sandisk... i got it from walmart... 32GB.... i think my warranty was only 30 days
Exactly what file are you trying to delete. I was referring to your memory before. There are files on your removable memory that you can't delete because they will get 're written automatically

Perhaps your micro SD has a write switch on it? Lol. That's all I can think of. Otherwise boot into Ubuntu and open terminal and CD in and rm -rf *

[Q] SD Card

Hi to everyone out there,
Before i begin i'd like to apologize to you all because i am going to ask a noob question...
I was wondering if there is a way to restore my SD card back to the original state it was when i bought the phone.
The reason i am asking you this is because i want to delete, after a period of time with apps 'n' games installed
and uninstalled in it, all the unnecessary files and folders that were behind after the removal. So i thought instead
of looking my files and folders one by one to find out which one i use and which one i'don't and also remove them one by one
i was wondering if there was an easy way out of this problem by restoring my SD card back to its stock status.
Please throw some light on my dark corners of my mind....
Thank you in advance,
Copy all the info on your memory on to a pc. Go into settings, storage and then wipe phone storage.

Yes but in that way i will copy all the files and folders to my pc including the ones i don't want.
Is there a way to copy only the files and folders that there were in the SD card right out from the factory?
In other words i want to restore my HTC One X SD Card to its factory default status but not format everything in it.
Thank you for your reply although it didn't answer my question
Wiping phone storage will restore it to how it came from the factory. The files and folders needed are automatically added by android.
The reason I told you to copy everything to your pc is to have a back up. You can them copy back what you need.

You didnt wipe dalvik cache.... Thats why U r having forceclose.... U will get force close in most apps when U dont wipe that,,,, Also if U are from cyanogenMod if u flash without wiping dalvik, it wont boot.
Also make sure that U have flashed this official cwm recovery. Other recoveries might not be as reliable.

I'd second the previous answer.
I have the same problem, Dalvik Cache cleared twice and factory reset twice. BUT the ROM is far from buggy. In fact even after the force close the email is sent. (Check, it does send the email. You just think it hasn't.) Only problem being is that it sends it twice, so the receiver may get a bit annoyed with frequent double messages..

Try this.... See if it forceclose. Let me know ASAP.
Put this in /system/app/ to replace original mail app with the help of es file explorer. U may need to go to settings> root settings> and allow superuser permission.

OK ... But it seems none of the mail apps working... So better switch to thirdparty mail app. or gmail/yahoo etc app. I am not removing mail as it works in my phone... I will release final version today. :/
I think the problem is with the temporary folder or cache folder for this mail app.because force close happens only when there is editing done or trying to send new email.

Not enough space to install new apps?

Im using Arc S and Ive only got like 15 apps installed, mostly common ones, but when I try to install new ones it says that theres no enough memory. I have 8GB SD crad but I cant move some apps to phone. Any solution to this?
Try clearing cache. Otherwise remove apps for space, or install them in your system/app partition.

[Q] Apps disappears on reboot with LupusGB

Hi guys, I just want to ask incase anyone of you knows the solution to my problem because i tried searching here and there but to no avail.. Everytime I use LupusGB kernel some of my apps disappears on reboot but when Im using Doomkernelv14 everything seems fine.. It just puzzles me as to why they go missing after reboot.. Hope someone can help me.. And btw my ROM is Xperia NXT Gaming 1.2.. Thanks for your answers
Are you using links2sd or apps2sd? Or maybe lucky patcher?
Sometimes it just need time to load all apps who are on sd (esspecially if you have lot of them)

I don't know what is causing that, but you could try to move them to phone memory, then move them to sd again. Try with normal way (from settings-apps) or with link2sd.
Maybe android.secure folder is deleted. You have backup?

Reboot to recovery, mount sd card from there, plug in to pc, transfer all files from sd card to pc, format sd card (from phone), transfer back sd card files.

Its due to the rom, if it has zipalign on boot it will zipalign apps and if u have cracked ones they get messed up and android deletes them...
