After the 4.1.2 ota update, I was hoping I could use multiwindow and allshare cast simultaneously to stream a video and play with my phone. Some users on the T-mobile forum have claimed that it's working (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067862), but it doesn't seem to be the case for AT&T phones.
Any ideas on how to get the same functionality on the AT&T note 2?

After hours of waiting for answers from Samsung both online and over the phone, nobody in the technical department has any idea what AllShare Cast does or what it is capable of doing (if anything). I have the Samsung Galaxy SIII SPH-L710 from Sprint and a Samsung UN55C7000 LED Smart tv, and a Samsung HTC-C6930 3D bluray player. I can connect all devices via allshare and share videos photos and music but if I try to activate the Allshare Cast via settings menu on the Galaxy SIII it proclaims that no devices are found. In the allshare settings menu on the tv it shows the phone is allow to share screen images however I am unable to get the phone to recognize the tv via allshare cast. Their is very limited information about connecting these devices without the allshare dongle offered by Samsung because it is my understanding with a Samsung smart tv that is capable of allshare then the dongle would be pointless so please any help you can provide to help me mirror the images from my phone to the tv without the allshare dongle or without additional cords/accessories.
Allshare cast is basically a service that mirrors whatever is on your phone to your TV.
I don't think you can use AllShare cast with a smart TV since many people have tried and the TV did not show up. They also didn't even add the AllShare cast menu option until after the dongle was released, so I doubt any compatibility with smart TVs was intended.
Samsung would rather have you pay more and also buy the dongle which is pretty much your only option if you want to mirror the phone to the TV. There are still many other solutions for just sharing movies/pictures to the TV that are free.

Where is the option at? I have been waiting for this option to appear, but I still do not seem to have it.

You need oneof the newer (newest?) firmwares to have the Allshare Cast function under Settings, More Settings.
The if rooted iu also need Triangle Away (and the you have to "fiddle" a bit to get it working).
But mine was stable last night. It is a bit of a Timing thing (pressing the rest button on the dongle and then turn on allshare cast, etc). Also sometimes yu have to restart the phone.
There is a firmware update in the Samsung app store for the allshare cast dongle, available today. So far, there is a rapid connection established to the unit, stable. Sound issues also are resolved so far. Great update.
does anyone have the allshare cast option under settings on your t mobile gs3? i ordered a wireless dongle from europe and was wondering if any of you guys have that option on the phone cause without it you wont be able to mirror wirelessly on a tv. was wondering if any of the updates that was sent to our phones maybe added that feature on.
Galaxy S3 sgh-t999 (Tmobile)
I bought the Allshare Cast Hub to compete with Apple TV because its a cool feature to have, so I believe most if not all Roms should try to keep this feature with GS3 phones
I originally had the REDRUM_Lean on my phone, until I found it didn't have Allshare Cast settings. Been looking around to find Roms with this setting and no one has agreed to say there particular Rom has this setting.
If you had backed-up the original settings in the phone from when you first purchased it then would have Allshare Cast settings.
My phone is rooted and was rooted with original phone settings.
Restored my phone to original settings still with phone rooted and downloaded Triangle Away.
Now my phone is able to connect to Allshare Cast with no problem, as before I couldn't because the rom didn't have the settings.
Still I'm looking for ROM to have the Allshare Cast settings.
To all ROM DEVs, can we make a list with Roms that have Allshare Cast settings???
Yeah, good question. I'm using Wicked's V.6. And although I have the AllCast app, i don't have the AllCast settings in the settings menu, therefore I have yet to get it to work.
I as a fact stock does.

Hey Guys,
I noticed that my wife's Galaxy Note II only has the "Allshare Play" installed on her phone.
I have the original Galaxy Note and I have "Allshare" icon.
I like the Allshare app on my original Note and my wife likes it too. So far, we use iMediaShare to do it but we want to give the Allshare app a try.
Anybody knows where I can find the installer for it? or is it even compatible with the Note 2?
Thanks!
bump please
You can turn on Allshare using toggle in pull down.
The problem is that apps a mess- Connectivity issue with device freeze on ATT version so you might want to take pass on using until updated.

Thanks! I think this is Allshare but maybe a different version because it is different compared to my original Note. In my original note, when i open "
AllShare" (not AllShare Play), I can browse from my phone and display it on my Samsung TV.
This time (with Note 2 - AllShare Play), it is the other way around. I can only access videos/music/pictures from the Allshare option from the TV.
Then again, imediashare does the same function as the old AllPlay.
I'm wondering if there is an APK around?
I have been llooking for answers as to how to do this yet I have not found a good site that explains it well. I just picked up a SERIES 8 Samsung TV..and I want to connect my s3 to it to view pics or what not.
Anyone have any experience doing this?
I have a Samsung smart tv and a galaxy s3. The tv is wired into the network. I recall that I have done anything rose to make it work, but out digits. From the gallery, music player, or movie viewer I can send what ever it is to the tv. Of course the s3 is using WiFi in the same network.

I have my S3 and TV on the same wifi network but I do not know the steps to do it..nothing on my manual. How did you do it?
As long as rhey are both on the same network... you just need to open whatever media file you want throgh allshare
Your tv should then prompt you as tk whether youbwant to let the media stream or not

I downloaded Allshare Control app and it says framework not installed?
My bad...its imediashare that you want to play it through.....
Galaxy S III I747
I have a Samsung Smart TV, a Samsung Laptop and obviously the GS3. I have the Allshare application on my PC which prompts you to share the path folder which holds your movies, photos, etc. On GS3 it does the same thing, but you have to be on the stock framework (rooted is fine but not ROM'd)... On your network your phone should recognize your TV as it has a pre-designated name given to it, and it will ask you if you want to share information with the device (TV). If the TV is hardwired it then it may not work. As of right now if I have everything over WiFi then there is no issue. Once I hardwire the TV then Allshare doesn't recognize my TV anymore from my PC or GS3.
