Hello I used [TOOL] HTC One V All-In-One Toolkit V2.0 [12-23-2012] [PERM ROOT] [Noob-Proof] to unlock my bootloader and flash recovery, proceeded with full backup > wipe > cyan10 > gapps and reboot but it just hangs on the cyan bootup screen.
I've left it for about 15 minutes now but no luck.
Should I try a new kernel, if so which?
Thanks
Sounds like that tool didn't flash your kernel correctly. Your gonna have to use the guides available and use fast boot to flash your kernel.

Ok, i think, you should try it again, from the 1st step:
1.Do a full wipe of your phone(wipe , wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, etc.)
2. Flash a CORRECT on your phone(CM10 Hellboy)
3. Flash the cm10.And don't forget to flash gapps.
4. Reboot.
5.???
6.Profit!
I think this should help. If not, try to saw, if you really do an unlock and root. Or do a restore, and install the cm10 again.
Good Luck!
i will try that again, even my backup from cwm won't boot hmm?
it is saying sON should that be OFF?
ok my own fault, forgot to install superboot lol. sorry to waste your time peoples!
I can't get CM to boot either, I have flashed both of JMZ roms that are sense based but can't get any other rom to boot up. What I'm doing is doing a full wipe, flashing rom, rebooting to bootloader and fastboot flash boot boot.img and then it just sits on splash screen. I have waited 30 mins and nothing. I have also tried flashing boot img first and then rom. I ultimately end up rebooting into recovery and then nandroid back to JMZ rom.
Could it have anything to do with the radio? I haven't purposely updated radio but that is the only thing I have seen mentioned that could cause this?
Check your radio version, of it ends in .9xx then you have the update installed and will need to RUU back to the older version.

Alright, so I dun goofed. If some kind soul could help me with this, or just point me in the right direction.
How I dun goofed:
I used the All-In-One Toolkit to unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery. After that I pulled the boot.img out of the PrimoC CM10 rom and used the toolkit to flash that as the kernel (I realize now this was extremely stupid).
Symptoms:
Cyanogen loading screen comes up and just hangs there. When hboot runs it says "SD checking...Loading...[PK76DIAG.zip] No image! Loading [PK67DIAG.nbh] No image! etc etc etc" eventually, though, I can access the bootloader and from there, the recovery. But when I try to restore my original set up and then reboot the stock Virgin Mobile rom does the same thing and just hangs on the HTC loading screen.
Details:
-Virgin Mobile (CDMA)
-bootloader unlocked, custom recovery (TWRP v2.2.0)
I've tried everything I can think of. I've used the recovery's restore feature, I've tried to reflash a different kernel. Nothing
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

yeah sorry, my fault, i miss-red the thread
Alright this is extremely complicated to explain so bear with me.
Somethings to explain first:
- I have an HTC One V CDMA VM USA phone
- I have tried this multiple times
Okay first off, I've unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone (SuperSU). I decided to flash ClockWork Mod as my recovery. So I boot my phone in recovery and flash the AOKP rom. I make a nandroid backup. I then wipe everything (cache, delvik, data). I flash rom then gapps. I flashed JellyBoot5.zip to make sure my kernel files are correct (I'm using AOKP stable build Oct 17 2012). I then boot into bootloader and flash the boot.img "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
It would continually run in "Initiating Swagger" - so I tried to delete and reflash again. Only this time I am stuck in a complete boot loop. It would say "Initiating Swagger" then load up the start up screen, stutter for 2 seconds, move again, freeze, reboot. It is stuck in this process again and again and again. I flashed the correct kernel according to the author of AOKP.
This isn't my first time doing this. I have already unlocked the bootloader two previous times (I used RUU on my device twice already just to get it back to stock.
Here's the freaking kicker though, when i restored my back up it did the exact same thing on stock rom as it did the AOKP rom. This makes me seem there isn't a corrupted download or anything like that but wow is this starting to get on my nervous. I need extreme help. I've looked everywhere on the internet and nothing came up. I even used Jellyboot5 and which
What the heck is it? Is it a performance issue, or a SuperSU position. Or could it be something with the kernel?
I've yet to hear the right suggestion so I'm all ears.
Ok u need to flash a diff kernel
Problem solved
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
first thing first, don't restore all your data from sense roms until you boot up the rom for the first time.
second thing, after you boot up into the rom, go to Settings - Performance and lower down the maximum overclock to a respectable position (1024).
do this and keep me in the loop. i will be glad to help you further,
Which boot.img are you flashing with fastboot? You need to open the kernel zip file with 7zip, copy the boot.img to your fastboot folder, flash the Rom, flash gapps, flash the kernel zip all in recovery. Then reboot into bootloader, and flash the boot.img using fastboot. I have used jellyboot5 and sickkernel V2 successfully with AOKP.

You don't? So if Jellyboot5 is in a zip, I just extract the boot.img, but I don't flash the actual zip, correct? I've flashed a different kernel but no luck.
Could you give me maybe some exact directions to using the AOKP rom, I used the ones on his post but for me they aren't detailed enough. I will hit thanks for sure
I'll let you know if this works later on. I can't do anything till tonight because I'm at school right now.

oh, ok, sorry for my ignorance. i thought he is flashing the whole boot.img from recovery (if it is in a zip format).so you need to flash boot.img through fastboot, go to recovery, full wipe everything (system, data, cache partition), flash your rom and after that flash the jellyboot.zip that has the needed files. reboot and if you did everything correctly, it SHOULD work!
I tried installing a custom rom today and I think I messed up really bad, because my phone does not get pass the boot screen and I cannot enter the recovery setting. I think I messed up after entering
fastboot flash boot boot.img
in the command prompt and restarting because I forgot to put the rom zip on my phone. Since then I could not get pass the boot screen and even tried running a backup using CWM, but it didn't help. I then managed to mount my phone and put the rom onto it and installed it, but again it didn't help.
Now my phone can only enter the bootloader, I select hboot and fastboot, but nothing else works. Everytime I select recovery or factory reset I get the htc boot screen and it gets stuck. Does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks
did u backup your phone rom???
if you did u can go to recovery and restore it
and never try to change rom again trust me in that
otherwise i can't help bcuz i did the same mistake
I did make a backup, but like I said I can't enter recovery anymore, so I can't load the backup.
Thanks for trying to help anyway though.

What HBOOT version do you have and what custom ROM are you trying to install?
edit: you didn't need to restart after changing boot.img cause in Recovery you can just go Advanced and then mount USB and copy the ROM or whatever files you want that way.

Yeah I realized this after I restarted and did it get the zip onto the phone. I think I installed it, but the phone is still stuck on the boot screen
UPDATE: Okay I've managed to install CWM recovery, so I think I'm making progress
You had to flash CWM again? Odd..
Anyway, if you happen to encounter the same problem with CM10 I suggest you try some other custom ROM.. Just make sure you "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and then "fastboot erase cache", and if for some reason you decide to format the sdcard or simply forget to add in the ROM zip, you can do it in Recovery when you mount the device as USB under Advanced options. Best of luck!

Same result... it seems like everything's working when I do it, but when I reboot I just go back to the same screen w/ the red letters.
i'll help you:
these steps are to be made in the EXACT order:
reboot into bootloader, flash Hellboy latest kernel (for GSM if you are GSM, i don't know if this kernel is for CDMA also. If you have CDMA, please flash Super Sick kernel).
after the kernel is installed, use the menu to reboot to your recovery or use adb and type
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
when you are in the recovery, do these:
factory reset
wipe system
flash the desired rom - in your case CM10
reboot the phone
let it stay for 1 min after the reboot
reboot again in the recovery (use the menu from within the rom to reboot to recovery)
flash gapps package for jellybean;
reboot the phone
the phone will now stay a little longer until it reboots because dalvik will decompile the google apps you've just installed.
congrats, your phone is working
P.S: the line to flash your kernel onto your device, is:
fastboot flash boot boot.img (you have to rename the kernel you downloaded to "boot.img")

Thanks! One hiccup, when I try to do factory reset it fails saying, "unable to mount '/sd-ext'. What does that mean?
Okay, I think I'm getting closer! I guess the twrp recovery I was using was bad or bad for my phone, because I flashed an old version and on reboot it went into loading the rom, I guess from a previous flash. I went back into bootloader, flashed supersick kernel, factory reset, wiped system, went to recovery and flashed the rom. I let it reboot and now it's stuck in a boot loop. I went ahead and put it into recovery and flashed gapps and rebooted. Still in a boot loop. Any ideas now? I really appreciate the help...

Well, I seem to just be going in circles... nothing I've tried has worked.. still getting boot loop. Flashing supersick and CM10 hasn't worked. I've tried it with cwm and twrp. My factory reset still says failed to mount sd-ext.
I dont know how much different is primoc from primou, but i remember i had a reset to factory in the bootloader aswell. and, as i said, i had the problem with mounting but i rebooted recovery and did each task (reset, flash) in a new recovery boot. i am brainstorming here but i am out of ideas, we are missing something here clearly, but as long as you have acces to the bootloader hope is not lost
