Hi there,
Is there any known way to have an iPhone 5 earphones work with my Note 2? It's actually well working but, volume controls. ...
Many thanks,

This actually happened to me aswell.
I have the LeBron James Beats Audio earphones. It was built for Apple products.
I tried it to for my HTC Sensation XE for double Beats.
Everything was crisp and bass was fawckim awesome but the volume controls of the earphones does not work. Only pause/play button.
At some point, it creates static and the music becomes faster that normal weirdness.
It might be voltage problems or the earphones can not override the application for it.

yep iphone earphones or any apple earphones with volume control are apple exclusive and they don't work great on other devices.
I have a sennheiser for me
Another reason to not support apple and their proprietary ways.

Thanks for your reply. I saw before an App which is allowing old-type of Apple earphones to be used also buttons to be mapped. Exclusiveness was same, but it shall send somehow a command which is not understood by smartphone. There's a possibility I guess an application to decode and translate those commands somehow. I don't really know by how.
and @rbiter, that's why I've sold my Apple 4G a year ago and bought my very first Note. Now it's Note II after some use, I can see how my decision is far RIGHT.
Kind regards,

For me, I don't like the feel of them inserted inside my ear canal. The iphone 5 earpods don't go inside as far by the looks of it.

I like the quality of the Apple earpods. They're decent and not too expensive either. I usually break them between runs, in my pocket, etc... So these were a good deal! The only thing that bothered me is that the volume keys didn't work. Now I'll give that app a try to map the keys and hopefully they'll work! But I recommend the headphones. They're good

Thank you all for answers.
Included one is sealing my ear canal, it is to do high isolation which I don't need... I'm not going to work out or walking daily. The most important thing for me is feeling air circulation in my ear canal. Otherwise included one has a very good sound quality and controls either. But no airflow, nothing else... Not comfortable for long-time use. iPhone 5's earphones are far better and provides really improved sound quality by directing more sonic into ear canal by it's weird(?) design. Somehow, both are very fine but isolation is problem.
I will try that headset control app, thanks for recommendation. I'll feed back.
Kind regards,

I have just downloaded the Headset Button Controller (Trial) App and it didn't work with Note II (4.1.1) CF-Auto-Rooted with iPhone 5 earpods. I've tried several times. ~thanks
Headset Droid neither works... *desperate me...*

Thankyou. It seems to work the same as the old iphone earphones then.
Not too worried about volume controls as you can control the volume using the rocker on the side of the phone when it's in your pocket. Not very convenient, but it works for me

Reviving an old thread here...
As far as I know, it is impossible to get iPhone compatible earphones/headphones to work on Android, and vice versa. One doesn't acknowledge the other. Only the call/end call/play/pause button and the microphone work universally. I don't like the IEMs that the Note 2 comes with, but it has volume controls that I love. So I modified the stock Samsung pair to have an iPhone earphone-like earphone. They're perfect for my preferences now!

I'm thinking of adding Android compatible resistors into the iPhone compatible Beats cable for my Beats Studio and Executive. Since Android ignores the iPhone reading, and iPhone ignores the Android reading, the resulting modded cable should work with both interchangeably.

There are a lot better sounding head sets than beats that are cheaper but any set will "work" I think head sets with forward/back buttons usually only work on iphones.

My previous phone (SGS1) had fantastic audio quality through headphones after installing Voodoo Control Plus. I was about to root my SGS2 so that I could improve the sound, however the application is not available to me. It appears that it's not compatible?
Are their any similar apps for the S2? It's not just the volume improvement, but the quality improvement that it brought.....

So I just got the Apple Earpods and it seems that the microphone does not work at all. During calls and in apps. It doesn't matter what ROM I am on. However I do know the microphone on the headphones does work on other phones like the Nexus 4. Is there anyway that the microphone support could be implemented into a ROM? Or is it something hardware related that Samsung did with the headphone jack?

Like all Apple products, they decided to make their own version of TRRS jacks, so Apple reversed two of the poles on the jack. You can buy a converter here for 10.00

I believe in the review AC used a GNex, and if you read through the comments, people say the mic does not work on a SGS3 and even the GNex.
Try downloading Jays headset control from play store and see if it works.

Hello. Well my friend... I have tried recording with my Jabra headset and it works pretty well. Bought it from amazon about a year ago and it's still holding up just fine.
Link: http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-EASYGO-...23487&sr=8-3&keywords=jabra+bluetooth+headset
If you want to use the headset as a voice recorder you'll need an app called Bluetooth Recorder Lite.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bluetooth.recorder&hl=es
It's not the best app but oh well... There aren't too many free options right now.
If you really are into that I recommend Easy Voice Recorder Pro. It costs around 4 dollars right now and it has bluetooth support.

Hope I helped :good:
anyone else disappointed with the speakers that comes in the note 3?
it's really pissing me off at this point. was really thinking of rooting and doing a sound mod, but it doesn't seem as if the speakers can take it any push without being over saturated and sounding distorted.
They sound fine ... at least they are louder than my S4.

Note 3 Audio is not as loud as my note 2 but hopefully with sound MOD it would do a little better. Just wish it had dual speaker. Wonder why they choose not to do that.

Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4
Mine sounds OK though volume level is a bit lower than Note 2, but you should get louder sound if you lay the unit flat on hard surface (table). Usually the sound from Note 2 is blocked but Note 3 is not affected (the way it sounds through the edge like Galaxy Tab/Note 7 or 8, or iPhone 5).
Nope. I'm pretty impressed after coming from 4 HTC phones* in a row.
*none of them were the ONE, which I've never heard.

Mines pretty loud, louder than my G2 was and I actually turned the master level down a notch. I only ever play games with the speaker and vines maybe a Youtube video, otherwise its plugged into the stereo in the car.

Wow that's good then, I think my S4 has a loud enough speaker for me. Anything below that and I would be dissatisfied.

How does the speakers hold up to the volume boost?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
The thing is I'm coming from a note 2 and I use a volume mod and it makes it pretty damn loud.....but the speakers in the note 3 just doesn't seem like they can't stand if volume boost.
I haven't rooted yet seeing that no one has figured out that Knox warranty issue yet.
But so far the speakers are so low the alarm can't even wake me up...
