SGS2 Version of Voodoo Control? - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

My previous phone (SGS1) had fantastic audio quality through headphones after installing Voodoo Control Plus. I was about to root my SGS2 so that I could improve the sound, however the application is not available to me. It appears that it's not compatible?
Are their any similar apps for the S2? It's not just the volume improvement, but the quality improvement that it brought.....

different sound chips on both phones. old sg1 used the yamaha chip as the s2 uses some crappy one that supercurio has not bothered working his magic on..hence why only voodoo louder to enhance the volume

There is no support for voodoo sound in the kernel, yet
hope it gets incorperated soon
Does anyone know if this has the same Wolfson sound chip in it as the Nexus S, so the voodoo sound quality will equal the Nexus S?

I don't think it has the same hardware, but I really couldn't find an answer here: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/20/behind-the-glass-a-detailed-tour-inside-the-samsung-galaxy-nexu/
I'm very interested in this myself. It would be real nice if voodoo can be implemented.

Its a TI DAC , not Wolfson.

even though it's not wolfson, the ti dac in the galaxy nexus is also supposed to be quite good. though personally i'm more interested in voodoo colour
As someone mentioned on IRC, this is really quite simple.
Just buy Supercurio one of these babies and it will be up in less than a weekend

Beats Audio an Nexus?

can we port the beats audio from the sensation xe/xl to our nexus ?
is it purely software? I would of assumed there is a hardware component as well...

no htc says that a chip is in these phones but also other htc phones have beats integrated with a custom rom like the HD2, Sensation and others
so it should be possible or ?

I don't think you can port it from the sensations. However I HAVE A WAY!
It is just an equalizer that can be replicated with DSP Manager

What you really need to do is....Go out to lets say best buy...Buy over priced speakers or headphones, and then listen to dre. Then you will have beats

Oh, Volume+ works, because I would have returned my SGN without it. I think I set the volume to +10, which seemed to be the loudest I could get without distortion. Your mileage may vary.
In regards to using V+ for tweaking the trebles and the basses... I played around with it for about 30 seconds, and it definitely works.

Right I forgot to say try to mod them into your device
It seems that supercurio is working on voodoo sound for our GN's (which is far superior to beats sound) so I'd wait for that. I don't get the hype with those things, I am a sound mixing engineer and they sound nothing close to studio monitors. I'm sure the sound could be emulated with a dsp app, but dsp manager doesn't work on my Nexus

beats audio. another example of how marketing works. there's always a sap for that.

Volume + works ok for volume, but the beats EQ, bass boost eq, have little to no effect on bluetooth audio.
DSP manager from CM really woke up my car stereo with super deep lows and no distortion.

Beats Audio is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. There is nothing better about the audio hardware in the phones that have Beats compared to those that don't. All that Beats is doing is putting an EQ curve in place that emphasizes the low end, giving you more bass. Odds are it is distorting the music rather than enhancing it.

This. Beats in phones is not like it is in things such as laptops, where hardware has also been enhanced.
Volume+ has a beats emulator.
If you really want it, hear it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats

There was a test on a other Website some time ago, showing Beats Audio for Mobilephones - e.g. HTC Sensation - does nothing...only EQ settings...so DSP Manager works well too.
you can flash glados kernel
and use franco kernel app or glados control app
then goto sound settings
you can imrove sound performance
then buy poweramp & ENJOY !

what camera apps (or mods) are you guys using?

well, coming from the Rezound, the nexus camera has been...quite unimpressive to say the least. comparison shots here:
http://imgur.com/a/r6EOP
the nexus camera seems less focused, less sharp and overall just more blurry. this camera really is just quite bad, IMO, compared to the rest of the phones that came out at teh time (even the motorolas, eww lol) so i'm wondering, what apps are you guys using?
i've been running JB since i got it, and although i love the cool features of the JB camera and the quick shutter speed, i feel the quality of the camera/pictures/videos is not where it should be. therefore, are there any mods to the camera that maybe make it less compressed? (we had a rezound mod that did that, and pics would go from 1.5 mb to 3.5-4 mb, and we made the audio codec encode at a higher bitrate on the videos, along with a higher video bitrate as well)
basically just looking to see what i can do to somewhat make this camera atleast equal or close to my rezound! thanks!
Subscribing. I've been unimpressed with the camera as well and have heard about different camera apps making a difference.
+1 Rezound

guess i need ICS for this, huh?
nm i found the newer version in the first thread, stupid me lol trying now but ADB isn't recognizing my phone, grr.

speakers are very low

anyone else disappointed with the speakers that comes in the note 3?
it's really pissing me off at this point. was really thinking of rooting and doing a sound mod, but it doesn't seem as if the speakers can take it any push without being over saturated and sounding distorted.
They sound fine ... at least they are louder than my S4.

Note 3 Audio is not as loud as my note 2 but hopefully with sound MOD it would do a little better. Just wish it had dual speaker. Wonder why they choose not to do that.

Good to know. Im looking to get this phone and if the sound better than the s4 then its good enough for me.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4
Mine sounds OK though volume level is a bit lower than Note 2, but you should get louder sound if you lay the unit flat on hard surface (table). Usually the sound from Note 2 is blocked but Note 3 is not affected (the way it sounds through the edge like Galaxy Tab/Note 7 or 8, or iPhone 5).
Nope. I'm pretty impressed after coming from 4 HTC phones* in a row.
*none of them were the ONE, which I've never heard.

Mines pretty loud, louder than my G2 was and I actually turned the master level down a notch. I only ever play games with the speaker and vines maybe a Youtube video, otherwise its plugged into the stereo in the car.

Wow that's good then, I think my S4 has a loud enough speaker for me. Anything below that and I would be dissatisfied.

How does the speakers hold up to the volume boost?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
The thing is I'm coming from a note 2 and I use a volume mod and it makes it pretty damn loud.....but the speakers in the note 3 just doesn't seem like they can't stand if volume boost.
I haven't rooted yet seeing that no one has figured out that Knox warranty issue yet.
But so far the speakers are so low the alarm can't even wake me up...
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
Same thing here. The earphone volume is low as well. I am on aosp rom though.
