Note II: Restore apps from Titanium backup to non rooted phone. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey this is my first post on xda. So I just wanted to know if I ever was to unroot my phone on stock firmware will I be able to use titanium backup to restore my apps? Or will I have to copy all the files from the enternal memory before the unrooting process and put it on a computer then putting it back inside the internal storage when it is non rooted.
Sorry if this didn't make any sense but some help would be helpful.
Thanks.

can u run titanium backup without root?
didnt it require root when u run the app?

I just wanted to know whether you can restore apps without root like restoring levels on games or restoring apps to a non rooted device so the contents would be saved

Titanium Backup required root access. You should try using other method/apps without the need of root access.

if u cant run titanium backup without root, how can u even do the restore action.....

Titanium won't run on non rooted device, so you can't restore game or data.
there are few other SW can run on non rooted phone, if you have backup with that, but remember data (game level) can't be restore without having root.
So restore first then unroot.

can you attach screenshot of backup/Restore page of titanium backup?
and have you check size of titanium backup folder?
Sir I also had taken a backup from Cwm recovery mode however as soon as I went to paranoid the restoration process showed no files present there.

You don't have any backup on device
Have you wiped device?
I think you have lost all backup when you have factory reset
It is advisable to make backup storage on ext sd card

Go to preference and then go backup location. Then click on detect and search whole device. Once located just Click on it and it will show up on the restore menu.. If you backed up on your external memory or internal memory without formatting it during the installation then it should be there.

Which program do you use to sync your apps?

Planning to do a factory reset and was wondering which program is best to sync my apps and its layout? I just dont want to redo my phones layout again.
Titanium backup or rom toolbox pro. Both work good.

Both of those required rooting my phone?
Sorry, if your not rooted then maybe try carbon backup. It has a way to backup apps plus data without root. Otherwise to backup the apps data too I'm pretty sure you need to be rooted.

Before I rooted I used my backup pro (but the free one works too) and I would back up apps and data and then install the app again after flash and everything would go back the way it was.

Backup question

Ok I'm rooted and stock. I'm using Titanium backup to backup all my apps. But I want to restore all my apps on a new phone that is not rooted so cant use Titanium backup. What app can I use that does not need root to restore my backup?
I'm not aware of any app that can restore a backup made with titanium, other than titanium of course.
If you want to make a new backup there may be something in the play store that doesn't require root. Not sure of anything specific though.

Yeah I'm not trying to use the titanium backup. I just need an app that doesn't need root. I would use that to make a new backup and restore that backup on the new phone.

Either Rooted or Custom Recovery, are the only ways that I know of. Why not root the new phone? You could always "Unroot" it after you have restored everything.
The new phone is the HTC one. I'm reading way too many issues with it after people root and sometimes on stock. So if my phone has problems I don't want to spend time unrooting to send out back.

Great I find a couple apps that work.

Backing up a non-rooted device

I have the Epic 4G Touch. I'd like to proceed with rooting it and ultimately CM10. I'd like to back up all the random stuff that I've accumulated over the last few years of owning this phone before I do that. Titanium Backup is only for rooted devices, as I understand it. What is the preferred method for backing up a device before rooting?

You can root it without losing any data.

Ypu can also just use odin to flash the el26 kernel. Then go into recovery and make a nandroid. After that flash whatever rom after wiping. Then on your new rom use titanium backup pro to restore from nandroid. Choose your apps and the data and restore. Do not restore anything system.

If you haven't moved forward with yet you can also use Helium for your backup -- it is available in the Play Store for free and is one of the only suites that will let you backup apps and data without root. I think that it will require access to a PC for the non-root backup. Good luck!

Wiping and Restoring?!

After flashing a Rom and then wiping my data. What's the easiest way to restore that data??

Also I have Arabic language installed (which I want to keep),will it get deleted when wiping my data?
P.S: the language was installed with the phone,I did not install it manually.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
If you are rooted with a custom recovery just make a nandroid before you install your new rom then you can restore your phone exactly as it was. To restore your data/apps back them up first with titanium backup then you can restore them after you install your new rom

Two best apps for restoring data are Titanium backup and Helium Backup.
1. Titanium backup: required root. Does all kind of backups.
2. Helium backup: required nonrooted and rooted phones. As it works with nonrooted phones, you can even backup after unrooting phone.
sent from my GT-N7100. Press thanks if I helped..
As above said , and just incase you lost arabic language and your device is rooted
use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wanam
will get any language you want
