Hey there,
just tried the new google music app introduced by today's I/O Conference.
(In case you cant download on the market due to regional settings try to search for the apk by twitter)
One thing I realized was that the application is incredible slow, sluggish and makes the desire feel like an old device that is not capable of the requirements of the new ice scream sandwich android release.
What do you think? In case the whole OS is sluggish as the music app the days of the desire seem to be over.
Regards
I used out both on my tab, and desire ! I'm not finding any lag what so ever! In fact it's bloody smooth
Tab - android 2.2
Desire - RCMix S - android 2.3.3
Edit: my only complain is there are no lockscreen controls

For root users who can't find it, use market enabler, and you'll be able to find it
CANADA FTW!!

Not really, the details in the Manage Apps list aren't accurate, Angry Birds takes up 17Mb but only shows as 384Kb
im running devnull myself, probably the fastest and cleanest rom around with the best performance. nevertheless you can see that the animations etc. are NOT fluid. I dont think anybody can deny that.

Hey,
Have you installed some background music enhancer.. in my case installing livefx was slowing the app down. Now it is up in flames

+1
i think its also pretty damn useless comparing to the other music apps on the market which have tons of useful settings etc
installed to try out the cloud which doesnt work anyway so it is a completely useless app for me

Thx, Danny.
Sluggish here in a Nexus One stock 2.3.4
got this on my desire and the xoom
my music beta website works fine, sync'd up some songs from the pc.
but can't seem to access the cloud songs on my phone/xoom
any idea how to authorize the phone device for the google account on the phone/xoom?
set it all up last night but still no sign of it working on my phone or xoom
I've seen that the SIII ROM has been lauched and allready the S-Voice apk was posted on the forum.I was wondering if somebody has the Smart Stay apk and will it work on the HOX?
I might be completely wrong, just speculating but i think that they would make a feature like part of kernel/ROM so it wont be readily available :/ I hope it does become readily available !!
Yeah i was thinking about that too, otherwise i think that the developers would launch the app allready.

Yeah, I wouldn't think It's just an Apk you can use, It's probably built well into the framework
Guys, you might want to check screebl app in Google play, it does keep screen on while depending on phone's axis orientation.
But yes smart stay is much better Lol.

I'm still somewhat new to Android, so please excuse my noob question. I had a Skyrocket for a few weeks and just got my GS3 yesterday.
Are certain apps not yet compatible with our phone? I had ICS on my Skyrocket, but certain apps like Scrabble and Asphalt 6 will not show up in the Play store now.
Thanks for any info.

Yup, it looks like the developer hasn't updated it to be compatible with the S3. (Scrabble). If you look up the apps via play.google.com you can see what devices an application can be installed on. On your phone under the PLay app, it just won't show up.
Thanks for the tip! Here's hoping the app gts updated soon. I love Android, but I never knew of this drawback. I know it will vary by developer, but is it usually a matter of weeks or months before apps become compatible?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium I was just wondering is it ever possible to get Google now on an ICS or GB ROM that's the killer thing for me...... can it ever be made to work????
There definitely are but its not smooth by any means. Also I heard the voice search doesn't work. Try and do some searching and ill look for the links, I think I saved them somewhere
sent from my rocking HTC G2 loaded with ICS
Google now works on ics roms. Albeit slow. Voice works perfectly. Do a search on xda for Google now ics and you can find the. Zip to install
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
You can get Google Now for ICS in this thread: [MOD][ICS] The Google Now for ICS Project [ARMv6 & v7]
I've been using it for a while now and it works pretty well, although not as perfect as in most of the youtube videos you've probably seen of the JB version.
For the Vision you need the ARMv7 version.
Google Now is not available for GB and probably won't ever be.
I was just wondering if anyone has got HTC version of android for any other phone, not just this one. I would like to see what htc's os looks like on a xperia play. (Mostly because I like the weather)
