Hi all!
I have a bunch of .zip files that I install via CWM after every ROM installed. Is there any way I can install them all at once?
Cwm actually is iphone of mobile world.
It is popular but doesn't does much.
Use twrp instead.
TWRP FTW

As the post above suggested use TWRP. It allows you to install numerous zips at once. Install by downloading goo manager from the app store. Click on the menu button within the app and choose install open recovery script.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973102 use this

choose the method u wanna install with.
use .img to install directly from mobile odin.
use .zip for use with cwm
use .tar for odin
or simply use the toolkit but it has a previous version
latest is 2.3.3.1 , i think toolkit has 2.3.2.3

I'm still struggling a bit with the adb thing. I'm wondering if its harder for the devs to have zip for cwm or .tar files for odin. Meaning is it more difficult to compile? I miss Odin it was so easy to use.

Edit. I realize most files are showing up as cwm. I'm curious why not use a uniform system for all files.

Odin relies on a specific interface in the bootloader on Samsung phones. It is limiting in what it allows you to do with the phone - basically just flashing images.
With the amount of features and work that has been put into CWM it gives users a much more flexible environment to "flash" ROMs and perform various tasks on their phone (i.e. allowing us ADB access to the phone). It also gives ROM develops more flexibility in how they want to package their ROMs by allowing them an API to script the installation of their ROMs among other things.
CWM is ultimately easier and more reliable to end users. It's very easy to screw up when flashing with Odin.
so can I flash gummynex with just cwm or do I need adb command prompts as well? It seems in the op you need both. Thanks for the help

You would just use CWM. Copy the .zip file to your SD card and boot into CWM. Then choose "install zip from sdcard".

for some reason every time i try to make a backup it starts the android secure backup and stops and says
unable to find mounted volume: /sdcard
error finding an appropriate backup handler
Ive tried to do backups on the phones storage and it says the same thing.Any help with this would be appreciated thanks
What version of cwm do you have?

im on the one rom manager installs 6.0.1.2, and its the at&t sg3. i don't usually like to use rom manager but i couldn't get the recovery to install using terminal commands.
You may wanna try team win recovery.
Uninstall ROM manager and install goo manager. Then you open it, hit menu key and install recovery script. Reboot in recovery and try

Hey Guys.
So i just rooted my Galaxy S3 and I am trying to install Clock Work Recover Mod in ROM Manager but there is not option for my phone.
Which one should I pick?
Thanks!
Kill the app, open, look again. If still not there, reboot, look again. It will show up, sometimes it does that, but trust me AT&T SGS 3 is there.

Get Goo Manager, open it, hit the menu button and tap install open script recovery. It will download and install TWRP, much better than CWM IMO.

I used cwm 5.xxx and cwmtouch for a while ans i recently switched over twrp and in my opinion , it is more complete annd user friendly than cwm.

I was running CWM and decided to go back to TWRP for various reasons.
I used Goo Manager to flash the latest version. After flashing I went into recovery to make a backup of Wicked...then rebooted.
I then went to Rom Manager to see my backups....nothing there. Soooo I did another backup from Rom Manager.
After it rebooted I looked at my backups...still nothing.
So im back on CWM. Has anyone had this problem? Curious to know why its doing this.

ROM Manager is made by the same individual that made CWM. Makes sense they work together.
Not surprised ROM Manager can't see TWRP backups.

You just don't know how to use TWRP or CWM very well.
If you saw CWM and TWRP successfully backing up your rom then the problem
is that you don't know how to navigate in those recoveries and find the backups.
You need to get better acquainted with twrp and cwm, if you do you will find the backups.
Perhaps they are in a folder... (hint hint)..........
I am very familiar with both. There are NO backups in the TWRP folder. Also Rom Manager list your backups. Once again it shows no TWRP backups. And yes I had Rom Manager set up for TWRP

If you just want to find the nandroid backups, why not simply use Root Explorer, or another
file manager and find the backups, that way you will see exactly where they are located.
Once you find the backups, you can move or copy them to any other folder you like
and restore with CWM or TWRP.
If you cannot find the backups, it means that twrp and or cwm did not successfully create the backups.
Good luck!
I have Root Explorer. TWRP files are empty. Oh well im gonna hang in CWM till I figure this out. TY for ur help

Rom Manager does list TWRP backups. As long as its your current recovery.

I was having trouble installing twrp from goo as after each download it stated the new twrp was installed. This was not the case. I usually had to manually do it with a zip if I could find one or fastboot. I realized with trying to install 2.6.3 this isn't goo's fault but the download path of 4.3. As with tibu the backup path needs to be changed to legacy from 0. The same is true with goo. The DL path needs to be changed to Storage/emulated/legacy/goomanager where legacy is originally listed as 0. Hopes this helps everyone. Worked perfect for me
