Hi,
I'm looking for fast and smooth ROM. I've already looked into development section and I was interested by Crane ROM and Enhanced. Do you have experiences with these two ROMs? Which one is better? Which from these uses less RAM memory?
Special question? Have these ROMs Czech language (I mean Czech localization and QWERTZ keyboard?)
Thanks for any answers.
I think the Adrenaline Rom from voetbalremco is the smoothest and fastest.
choice rappooks
I've tried DroidGIO v1. Worked like a charm. V2 seems not to be so smooth for me.
Stock based ROM : Adrenaline (Enhanced236 is my second choice)
CM7 based ROM : Phiexz 7.2 latest nightly
CM9 / CM10 based ROM are not yet fully usable daily IMHO.
go for Droidgio V2.2, its the best cm7 based rom out there
I've made a switch from Phiexz to DroidGio, the last one is even better.:good:
movfan & phurya :
I haven't tested this ROM (neither v1 nor v2).
Could you explain in a few words what is better in DroidGio than in Phiexz ?
By the way I don't think battery or stability could be better, because they are already perfect in Phiexz.
Functionalities I guess ... ?
Tks ;o)

When i was on vacation, the last Phiexz rom became unstable.
Now i've already used the xperia launcher, so it was the obvious choice changing to Droidgio.
The previous roms had some errors, but they were all removed, and now its error free.
Now i must say that i'm not a power user, but for me the rom is more responsive, and the battery is even better.
Give it a try, you can always switch back if you don't like it.
I will flash Phiexz CM 7.2. Thanks a lot guys
Just tested DroidGio 2.2 ...
This ROM cannot be compared to Adrenaline or Phiexz as far as smoothness is concerned.
After 10mn playing around, I have to switch back.
In addition, there are some bugs (among others, in Call interface numbers are not aligned with underlying grid, vibrate mode is not retained between reboot, etc ...).
For somebody who wants a bugfree & smooth ROM, DroidGio is not acceptable.

Damn, man!
You found two tiniest bug which you can experience like once in a month, and that means that droidgio isn't smooth and reliable.
I peronally think that droidgio v2.2 is one of the best, and maybe the best cm7 rom.
I don't say that phiexs's and adrenaline are bad, I'm just defending droidgio v2.2 because it's very good rom.
First of all, I didn't make any comment on reliability, because I haven't uses DroidGio 2.2 long enough to make comments on that particular point.
Second, you shouldn't use adjectives like "tiniest" when talking about bugs, because the level of annoyance is always relative to a specific user.
If you read the DEV section, you will find tones of posts about bugs that are considered "tiny" for someone, but "critical" for another ... and vice versa.
After 6 month under Adrenaline I cannot found a single bug (with my own usage).
After 10 minutes under DroidGio I found 2.
It is factual, peoples will judge from their own point of view / usage / expectations / tests.
Concerning smoothness, it could be that I've done something wrong, but I'm pretty comfortable changing ROMs, and I always make all steps to maximize success chances.
Factually again, I can assure you that in my own case, Adrenaline (and Phiexz in a lesser extent) is obviously smoother that DroidGio 2.2 (all things being equals).
Does all of that make DroidGio a bad ROM ?
Certainly not, it's a very good ROM that can be used daily without any problem.
Moreover, it is the last CM7 based ROM that is maintained (as Phiexz has apparently fully switched to CM10), and people looking for a CM7 ROM should definitely give it a try (among others )
Good job!
Thanks for explaining.
Well.... I have also tried a lot of ROMs but Phiexz CM7.2 seems to be right choice by now... (still awaiting for a stable CM9 or CM10)
I haven't had any luck in finding material to explain: what exactly is CAF and Non-Caf?
Bonus points for the bonus question: is theme manager no longer available on tablets? None of the 4-3 or 4-4 ROMs I've tried seemed to have had it.

CAF kernels are meant for CM roms, like official CM Rom, ports of it and (maybe PAC-man)
So those that aren't based on CM kernels and are running stock, like PA, AOKP etc than their kernels will be non- CAF
Regarding theme managers, it based on the roms that you picked. For eg, you cant find them in AICP build and some of the 4.4.x rom but if you were to go for the 4.3.x based roms, you're able to find theme manger in there
Caf stands for code aurora forum which is a consortium of various mobile companies of which qualcomm is a part of. The kernel source that caf churns out has cpu optimizations that come directly from qualcomm, which in turn provide better performance and battery life than aosp based kernels.

I tried both CAF kernel and AOSP derived ones and don't seem to be able to see much of a difference in performance NOR battery life. And seems I'm not a big fan of CM, I would just flash the AOSP derived kernels that are packed with the rom

How on earth are we supposed to tell? Haha, even the Devs that mention it, like faux, tell you to pick the right version....."car version here..." The problem? Neither are labelled as caf, or non-caf. I suppose the aosp/cm distinction is what gets me. I thought the stock ROM, as well as cm was based off aosp. Neither the ROMs nor the kernels are labelling (a couple have...but most don't even mention it).
The main reason I even bother is because the sound is awefully low....faux sound support or a comparable volume boost is the main feature I'm looking for.
If you happen to know one or two popular kernels that are car/non car, can you mention them by name or link to them?
I'm going to be running slimkat, aosb, or PA (once PA has PA features).

Hi there I am looking for a AOSP Based ROM =, I've seen CM11 and a couple of other ROMS but not sure which one would be the most stable and battery friendly.
People with more experience with flashing the roms currently available could you please share your experiences?
I am currently using a European LG Stock rooted rom but I want the speed and fluidity of AOSP based ROM with hopefully improved battery life
and most of the hardware working e.g. IR Blaster etc
please share the which AOSP based ROM you are using, your experience with it and a link to it.
Thank you very much for your opinions and input beforehand.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of infecteds roms. They all seem fast and smooth. Checking the cpu governer is not set at ondemand, I think, is a must do.
I personally use infected SlimKat, though I used his cm11 nightlys for ages. His SlimKat, for me, is the best.
It's going to be more stable than cm Nightlies simply because it's not a nightly build. It's got a few extras that I love, but ultimately you need to have a flashing session and see which appeals to you most.

Hello guys!
I have this problem with any aosp rom i try. I am currently on liquidsmooth 3.2 with agni kernel and experiencing poor battery and this happen to every aosp rom i try. I think that the problem is in the kernel settings i am using. How is your battery life in aosp? Can you guys share the settings you are using for optimal battery life?
Hi, so I am using PacMan Rom the release version. Kitkat(4.4.4) PacVersion(KK Release dev) so far its been running great, smooth and fast. but trouble is my battery draining pretty quickly, is there a better kernel that might prevent this?
Which kernel do you suggest?
