hi everyone, i'm in a difficult situation now. i purchased my note 2 a week ago. heard about rooting and rooted it with ubuntu. then i used the cwm recovery to instal stock update. after updating to 4.1.2 my supersu file does not update its binary and all the apps that require root say root access denied or no proper root . even the root checker said this. it showed superSU 0.96 installed but system/bin/su NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY it shows. i tried flashin again but it wont return to cwm recovery when i press vol up+home+power it just enters into stock. but the flash counter on warning screen increases but current binary says samsung official....need help guys pls....
root again.

NO Bilal as triangleaway needs root root your device with stock recovery use triangleaway and unroot it .

I can also confirm that this root method does work.

You have to have:
Samsung Kies installed
Enable USB debug in dev section (hit about device greyed out area few times to enable)
Open command window and type in the location of adb.exe, and type in the following:
adb reboot download
This brings the phone to Odin mode, extract the package and open Odin, hit PDA and locate the .tar file, and hit start (make sure you don't touch anything else). Once it has done, the phone will go to recovery and install SuperSU for you.
A friendly reminder: the unit Knox Warranty Void will become 0x1, so think twice if you want to sell it in the future.

Everytime root comes out for a new device someone asks this question. Sometimes it has even been myself.
I really wish OPs would disclose this as for most it doesn't matter, however, there is a good chunk that do care if the custom counter is tripped and now since knox is a factor, whether its check is triggered.
It can matter when a device is returned for warranty purposes and is important to know.
Take a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2295749&d=1380658716
I hear it will trip the knox trigger to 0x1 - not sure if odin'ing would fix this or not.

Plz some one help as my phone is rooted for the last 1 year. I have tried so many Roms. Before loosing Root I was using Hurricane latest 4.3 rom.
but wanted to use Ditto Note 3 so flashed V2 after full clean. Even flashed MJ5 boot loader for wifi problem. But when I booted the rom Super user icon is there. but when i click the app it says
"There is no SU binery installed and Super SU can not install it. If you just upgraded to android 4.3, you need to manually re-root or consult the relevent forum of your device"
I have checked with root checker app and it says no root. I have tried to reroot using Dr ketan multirroot app. but no avail.
plz some one give me a solution..i m helpless
If you post the question in the ROM thread I'm sure you'll get help...

I gave you the solution that worked for me, reflash the rom without full wipe.. it should fix the superSU and when you reboot from recovery and it asked you if you want to fix root, answer NO.
that what i know broke my root in the first place when i answer Yes

It worked for me too. BUT BE WARNED, CHOOSE THE RIGHT FILE OR YOU'RE PHONE WILL BRICK.
For example, if you're phone is At&t i747 then choose that file, but if you're phone is I747M Canadian (My model) then choose that file.

In case it's helpful for other users, I was able to successfull root my i747M (Rogers) on 4.3 stock using Method 2 described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991

Not 100 % sure but I think if you've upgraded to 4.3 and rooted again with cf autoroot you have to then update su from playstore to get root back. I think it downloads the update which you flash through recovery and that's what it's asking you. As i said I'm not 100% Dr ketan's guides are always the best answer

When you want to root you can use CF to root.
When boot into android you need to update SuperSU first.
Then open SuperSU app and update. When app is asking you yo disable KNOX do it. Then it will work
And to root you need this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933542
