Lock screen Wallpaper

Has anyone noticed that if you set the exact same wallpaper to your home and lockscreen, that the lockscreen's wallpaper is always made slightly brighter? I noticed this using specifically black wallpapers, and was wondering if anyone else caught it. Its slightly annoying since it doesn't blend with my status bar perfectly.
Are you using the ripple effect on the lock screen? If you are that is why the lock screen wallpaper looks brighter because the ripple effect is showing the image submerged in water.

Lock screen wallpaper defects! What the hell is this?

If I set the same wallpaper to home screen and lock screen, the lockscreen one looks so bad. It looks almost like the screen is defective. It has blotches of discolorations mostly on the left side of the screen.
I know screen is perfect cuz whem I open the same image from gallery its perfect. Even on the home screen it looks perfect.
It drives me crazy. Its more visible if you out pure black wallpaper. It looks like you dropped bleach on the left side of screen.
What the hell is this?

Try changing the lock screen style from ripple to something else, then change it back

Wow thanks. I would never think that. If I disable it turns to normal.

black pixel lits up

Hello, the question is when you use a black wallpaper on the s3 the pixel don't lit up right ? so I downloaded a black wallpaper and tested it out. I noticed all the pixels are on,but it is not pure black(like when you lock the phone). I have tried 3-4 types of black wallpaper but none on them seem to work
I have tried it on stock Note 2 but it is the same. I tired using paint but no luck.

True black does not light up the pixels. I used Paint on Windows 7 and created a black wallpaper. As for the lockscreen, if you have the ripple effect on, it will not be true black as it is part of the effects. Turn it off and you will see the difference.
