Is there a way to hit a home button while in the browser. Like if I'm on eBay and I want to go back to my home page.
Why dont you just open a second tab?

.. not sure I understand the question. "Like if your on Ebay and want to go home" does touching the screen not bring up the nav bar with the home key? Why not just tap the home button??

I don't get a home button when I pull down the URL bar. I'm running paradigm jelly bean.

I meant just in general. When I'm browsing the web my nav bar stays at the bottom. I always have the option to "go back", "home", or "recent apps" ... never disappeared for me

He wants his homepage, not the home screen.
And to get there easily, just open a new tab. There is no button or menu item for it.

Exactly thanks man.
I previously had a GNEX. Loved the swipe up from home shortcut for Google Now. On my Note 2 the only way I see to launch Google Now is by holding the menu button. This is ok, but it brings up the keyboard and recent search entries causing clutter (and yiu have to press the back button to make the keyboard go away). And the prior search results stay on the screen.
Is there a faster/better way to quickly access Google Now?

I use Nova launcher and can swipe up for GOOGLE
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7100 mit Tapatalk 2
Use Swipepad: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1vYmkuY29uZHVjdGlvbi5zd2lwZXBhZC5hbmRyb2lkIl0.
(which is a must have app for any android device)
Then put google now in one of the slots. All you have to do then is swipe up from your chosen hotspot to it and you're set. :good:
You can do it by a long press on the menu touch button, or dragging the google shortcut from the lockscreen.

In my OP, I mention the menu way. It's annoying because it brings up the keyboard and recent searches. You have to hit back to get rid of the KB and the recent searches stay there. It's not ideal.
I downloaded swypepad, but in order to use more zones, you have to pay. Lame.
Oh well.
Touch the word 'Google' on the left-hand side of the perma-widget.

Just did that. Still launches the keyboard and recent searches. Not clean and is frankly irritating.

So your's doesn't do this when either holding the menu button or touching "google" on the search bar (widget)?
What?
If you use Nova, you can bind Search Text to "long press menu". That brings me the Google+ screen...

Long press on my home button brings up my recent apps and three icons at the bottom.
Pie chart, Google and dustbin.
Press Google for Google now. No keyboard or recent searches appear.
However, if i touch the word Google on the search widget then Google now comes straight up but with the keyboard

On my desktop, using lightning launcher. No clue about TW, can one do that?
How can you disable this function?
I just want to scroll and not zoom when I slide my finger up and down on the left side. I have looked every where for a setting to disable this annoyance..
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I actually just noticed this when trying to highlight text in an email...I use chrome and it doesn't zoom with the one finger so I never noticed it, 2 weeks later and still learning about this phone lol
my guess is that you have one-handed operation on. If you take that off I bet it will stop zooming with one finger.
Still does it with one hand operation off.

Cool I can zoom with one finger. Love this feature now since I only scroll from the middle of the screen.
Still no disabling of this feature?
One Finger Zoom
It is a simple to use application to ZOOM on your images with a simple touch, while maintaining the resolution of your images. One tap to zoom and move in different areas of the picture! All the details, with the original resolution, are now at your (one) finger, one touch and there you go!
you can download it from Slideme Market
Spam ^^ . Dolphin beta doesn't have the slide zoom thankfully.
Still can't figure out how to stop the scrolling on edges....

1. Go to the settings menu, and scroll down to "About phone." Click on it.
2. Scroll down to the bottom again, where you see "Build number."
3. Tap it seven times. After the third tap, you'll see a dialog that says you're four taps away from being a developer.

Interesting that they decided to make dev settings hidden like an easter egg.
probably due to people messing with it and wondering why apps start crashing
Any other hidden settings ?
Very strange, but good to know. Thanks!

Tap it 7 times alternating your thumb and pinky then lock and unlock the screen 7 times followed by dropping the status bar down 7 times while holding the phone upside down.
No seriously it looks like once you enable it, its there for good.

It's not really needed the 7 taps just allow you to see the developer menu again you still have to turn on the adb option like before.

I thought that would enable debugging but I learned that I then have to go to developer options. Shady shady, google!
For those of you that are Redditors, this application is fairly new, and works phenomenally on the new N7. It has gestures which is what sets it apart to me. For example, on the main screen that lists the threads, swipe left to get to your subscribed subreddits and multireddits, account info, etc. Swipe right to filter and sort, etc. When you choose an option, you can swipe back left to the main thread, and swipe right to go to the comments.
I rarely ever recommend Reddit clients as there are so many, but this feels SO right on the N7.

Amazing. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yeah this one is the best by far. Wish it would hide those gory pics though .

On the right side of the post item where you can click the top half to get to the comments, you should see a video link on the bottom half of the right side of that item. Clicking that will open the video inside flow, and you can rotate to get the full screen view.

Yep!
Swipe your finger from the left side of the screen in towards the middle, which should reveal the left drawer. There should be an option to login there. You can also access the settings menu, your subreddits, multireddits, and casual subreddits, and change the theme from there as well.
The same motion from the right side opens the options to filter and sort posts.
Great recommendation! Thanks
