I recently tried to install an apk from Xperia V to Xperia s. It was to replace the previous apk. However the cert was different so I got "application not installed" error.
So, my question is that, is there any way that I can sign the the apk from xperia v with the certificate of the apk i'm trying to replace?
Note: I'm not willing to root!

For some strange reason Xperia Arc in Claro comes branded with Yahoo which means no Google applications. I fixed the search provider and managed to install all apps except for Talk. I found several apks but all of them give me the "Application not installed" error.

Hi there,
I'm trying to install an apk for Zenonia 4 onto my OneX, I'm getting parsing errors.
I've made sure that I've changed the security to allow non market apps to be installed...
I didn't think I had to be rooted to install an apk? As that's the only thing that I can think of that'll stop it from installing.

Pointing out the obvious, but have you checked that the APK file is okay?

It was when I installed the game on my HTC Sensation last week.
No, you don't need to be rooted to install an apk
It probably an incompatible with Tegra3 App mate unfortunately there are quite a few at the minute
Since this morning, out of the blue my android market does not work any more. When the phone boots up, or when I select the Play Store icon, it starts loading for a second, then closes and the following error message appears: "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped"
I have done no changes one my phone since the last time I used it.
My phone is an LT15i arc, using the LT18i 4.1.A.0.562 ICS firmware, bootloader is onlocked by Jinx13 and is rooted using Doomlord's rooting script. Only the junk apps as listed by Flo95 are removed.
I have since then reflashed the phone using flashtool, but keeping user settings, but I still have the same problem. I even manually reinstalled Google Play (Market) App v3.5.15
Any ideas as to what I can to fix this, or what could be the cause?
Have you deleted "download manager" app? I got the same problem after delete this app

Not that I can recall. I have checked in \System\App and I have DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUi.apk
What is the actual apk name of the download manager app so I can see if I can find it from somewhere and reinstall it.
Else if anyone can post a link for it, I will greatly appreciate it.
I'm a newbie here as everyone knows google maps 7 sucks really bad and my new unlocked z1 compact (updated to kitkat) came with it but i wanna know how to install 6 version, i already have the apk downloaded in my sd card and in the internal storage but every time i try to install it just won't do it. At the end of the dialog box only says "app not installed".
I can install any other third party apps and from playstore without any trouble but i'm guessing i'm missing something here just don't know what, any help will be very appreciate it, thanks
