I have the problem in the title. Of course, all the pre-loaded Google apps do not show in the Markeet downloads and they don't auto-update or show update notifications. I managed to install Youtube, Gmail and a few others by visiting the Market and installing them over the original pre-loaded app (I guess). Now I can find them in Markiet downloads.
The problem I have now is with Google Maps. It's not in the Market downloads, since I never downloaded it from there. But I can't even find it when I search the Market, I can't access any links or barcodes (the result will be "The requested item could not be found"), there seems to be no way for my phone to access a link for downloading Google Maps.
I have the original ROM, no root, and in the Google Maps About section I see "Version: 4.5.1 (#4665) gmm-android-htc". Is it an HTC version of Goole Maps?
What can I do? Do I need an .apk file? Why would this app be forbidden from showing up in Market for my phone? Maybe it's my phone region, but I doesn't make sense.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
These are market glitches and iv had times even on rooted phones with the market not showing certain apps that DO exist. What i did was reinstall the Google bundle apps but since your not rooted i am not quite sure what you can do but wait? or maybe a cache clean or a factory reset if all else fails
... or go settings, apps, running, find market, force stop, clear data. God knows if it'l help at all but always worth a shot.

Bingo! Not available in Romania yet I used temproot and MarketEnabler to get it.
Install the one from http://www.mediafire.com/?54mn0zw747vc1sh - I just got it from my phone.
@ddotpatel,aznsnake666 - Tried clear data, clear cache, etc. but it didn't work.
@keinengel - So I guess you have the same problem. Downloaded the file, it works! But I wonder why Google Maps isn't available for Romania?!?!? Thanks!

Yup, same problem. I think we need to gang up on Vodafone and get them to sign an agreement with Google for paid apps - maybe that'll fix it.
Google Maps was pre-installed in my ROM, so looking in the Market I could still see it though it wasn't showing as "Installed".
I simply clicked on "Install" and the new version overwrote the one in my ROM, and it works fine now.
I still don't get it... why is Google Maps availability depentent on region/carrier? It is a free app anyway. And since I paid for my phone which includes Google Maps, I think I should have access to updates too regardless of what country I'm in.
Since this morning, out of the blue my android market does not work any more. When the phone boots up, or when I select the Play Store icon, it starts loading for a second, then closes and the following error message appears: "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped"
I have done no changes one my phone since the last time I used it.
My phone is an LT15i arc, using the LT18i 4.1.A.0.562 ICS firmware, bootloader is onlocked by Jinx13 and is rooted using Doomlord's rooting script. Only the junk apps as listed by Flo95 are removed.
I have since then reflashed the phone using flashtool, but keeping user settings, but I still have the same problem. I even manually reinstalled Google Play (Market) App v3.5.15
Any ideas as to what I can to fix this, or what could be the cause?
Have you deleted "download manager" app? I got the same problem after delete this app

Not that I can recall. I have checked in \System\App and I have DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUi.apk
What is the actual apk name of the download manager app so I can see if I can find it from somewhere and reinstall it.
Else if anyone can post a link for it, I will greatly appreciate it.

"Thanks for following up and for providing those additional details about

Try to wipe your cache and dalvik cache. I read somewhere that that might help.
Thanks
but i already tried that's still no hope
Have you tried clearing the market's data then rebooting?
To me it sounds like you accidently deleted a protocol, backup transport, sim toolkit - a system file that manages those things -
while you were uninstalling bloatware or so. Have a check for it

Reflash the Gingerbread Google Apps zip file. Mine did the same a while back and a flash fixed it

What I meant was f.e. When I delete the 'SIM Toolkit' via Titanium backup. The 3g service won't work anymore. WIFI is still up and running great, I can also switch 3G on, but it won't ever give a service cause the SIM Toolkit is deletet.
Maybe you have accidently deletet such a backup service / transport protocol. So the downloading from the App store become impossible .
Whoaa thanks for the reply guys
i'm gonna try it all first, then i'm gonna post it here
i'm a little busy now
Well, i already tried allllllllll of it but still nothing workkssssss! this make me
hmmm but now sometimes i got an error 927 instead of 403 what is it?
and what is baseband?
doomlord say in his post "for optimal results it is HIGHLY recommended to use -36 baseband with corresponding libs... " what does that mean?
btw i tried to factory reset my phone, and finally i choose to install the gin2ics rom and i love it but the problem still there
and now i think about using alternative market for my phone any suggestion what market should i use? i want the best one (like amazon, opera mobile app store, fireplace market, etc )
sorry for bad english
It seems that Google Play need really good connection to download apps.
I made a trial, using same wifi connection but with different setting on router, that is the bandwith limiter.
One without limitation simply download the apps, and with 128kbps limitation the phone always fail to download with the same error message.
Also downloading from GPRS and bad 3G connection can make the same failure.
Delete the proxy in acces point setting, i'm using 3 operator too and its really work
error 403
try to use your vpn settings configure it,or any 3 rd party app.same problem i had with yours before now playstore is working fine.its a network thing i might say that causes the problem.freee vpn servers are everywhere...browse

Hi all
I bought HTC 606w from China market (I'm from Poland) and because of this annoying chinese symbols and slowly working stock ROM I decided to install a custom one. I found only three ROMs for this model at russians, chinese and vietnams forums, first is paid (), second has many bugs and third is similar to stock one but without many chinese apps and it works very fast. I installed it but there weren't gapps so I flashed gapps for JB. And there is a problem - Play Store has a retry error message (can't connect to the Internet by WiFi and 3G). What's interesting, when I push on a search icon and I type something it finds everything but can't load it. Gmail also works proerly. Also Google+ has an error message that it unfortunatelly stoppet to work. I tried all this tips and nothing help http://wccftech.com/fix-no-connection-retry-error-message-on-google-play-store-app/
Mine custom is here if someone want to read about it: http://www.romzj.com/resources/default.html?view=rom&id=11225
Guys please tell me how to fix this issue, I can't download Swiftkey3, can't download full version of PowerAMP, can't update apps
Hi, I just got myself an HTC One M8 today. Bought it here in Beijing, China, at a China Unicom store. Turns out they call it M8w, but it should, as far as I know, be very similar to the official Asian version (it has a 2.5 GHz CPU and both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE). Google Play Store was not installed, so I'm trying to get it installed.
I tried installing Google Play Store using the "Google installer" app by Eric Xiang, mostly used for Xiaomi phones, but basically it's an app to download APK files manually and install them.
So far I've gotten Gmail and Google Translate to work without problems after installing it from the Google installer, but Google Play Store fails to start with a message saying "No connection" and a "Retry" button. This is probably because Google Services Framework (a dependency of Play Store) crashes after installation.
Any suggestions on what I should do? Do I need to root and put in a non-Chinese ROM?
Thanks in advance!
For the M8t, there is a easier way for Google Play service (gmail, map... etc),
Just search "GMS安装器" from HTC App store or Baidu App store. Then you are good to go.
For anybody that's interested, I didn't manage to get all Google apps running properly, so several months ago I flashed in this system dump instead. (I unlocked the bootloader and flashed it in using a utility I don't remember the name of, but I will look it up and update this post if I remember it.)
Haven't noticed any issues so far except for that I don't seem to be able to update anything OTA. But I guess that might be normal?
