I entered my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2, SGH-T889, IMEI number on their web page and it was compatible. I'm using the Solavei sim in the Note 2 right now.
I'm using my GN2 on Solavei as well. Same thing it didn't recognize my IMEI however and this is important, the IMEI checker is only really used to size the SIM, it's not needed at all for activation.
I just found an IMEI for a phone that uses a Micro SIM to get the right size and all has been well.
Have you sorted out your solavei set up problems..? If not PM me..

Here is an article specifically about the Nexus and Solavei setup.
http://androidandme.com/2012/12/news/how-to-setup-the-nexus-4-and-google-voice-for-solavei/
I've setup two Nexus 4's on Solavei. I manually configured the APN before even putting in the SIM card. They have been with their owners for 2 weeks working well. I did not setup 2 separate ones like in the link above, I just followed the directions here.
I will test the MMS and report back if there are problems, but I think at least one of them MMS's all the time and has reported no issues.

i bought my note 2 a month ago from verizon wanted one so bad and they had a sale well it came unlocked but did not have apns but did show service bars well after a month of playing and ysing global apn as a system app , i still only got edge but soon as i put a jedi rom vr1 i think i got much better data speeds but had to dissable ota and no aosp and aokp were too buggy to use no off. to anyone but yes it is possible with enough searching . hope this helps but finally sold that exp. thing and my new note 2 from tmobile will be here tom. oh the reason i put my tmobile sim in was cause of verizons stupid no unlimited data thing ... :good:
Ok SO I could not find a proper thread for this since there are SO many threads. The issue I'm having is I got a Samsung galaxy S III that was unlocked, and after I put my ATT sim into it I could recieve texts and calls but I could not recieve data. So I rooted it and applied clockwork with all my mods and figured I could find some setting that would fix it... well I was wrong. I tried global, GSM and LTE settings none of which would give me data. If there is anything anyone can do to help I would be more than appreciative.

While I agree that you should always call at&t so they can register a device to your account, this will not help his current data issue
OP, is this an international s3, T-Mobile or at&t? What firmware/rom is installed? Again, verify your imei is intact
Ok so this is a verizon Galaxy S3. It is rooted running 4.1.2 JB, Kernal 3.0.31. After I got the phone I did go to an ATT store to register a micro sim because i didn't have one at the time. So the imei is registered to my sim card perfectly. I can get calls and texts without any issue but no data. How do I figure out what the apn settings are and if I have the right configuration?

You do realize you're trying to use a cdma phone (verizon) on a gsm network (at&t), right? Different radios. Different technology. Won't work
Well it was unlocked at the phone has a gsm option so if it wasn't compatable I don't see why they would have the option there to actually use a gsm network.

You need to read more.
this phone only supports GSM with EDGE data.* This essentially means that you'll get 2G data speeds (unless you have a WiFi connection) because it doesn't support UMTS/HSPA+ which is required for international and U.S. 3G data. the 4G LTE frequency supported by this phone is only used in the U.S.* For those who don't know UMTS/HSPA+ is the 3G technology used by GSM carriers internationally (and used by AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.) which is different from the CDMA/EV-DO 3G technology used by Verizon and Sprint.*
This phone IS unlocked, that part is correct. But only for gsm carriers
So its preventing me from recieving ANY form of data possible?? It is a Verizon phone and I have ATT so you mean it doesn't support GSM then right?

You're in an at&t s3 forum with a verizon s3 that has zero data. If you really want to pursue this issue, you should start looking around in the Verizon S3 forums

you have a Verizon S3, that is the FIRST place you need to go. always go to the forum for the device you have, bro.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1708
If I'm not mistaken, some Verizon devices will not work on US gsm networks even if unlocked, only foreign gsm networks.
Saw an article about this, although it might have been a different phone that was being discussed.

If you are going to stick with AT&T, that is the way to go if you want to have data. No worries. Stupidity is only if you didn't learn anything. You had ignorance of the situation and now your don't. Do some research on any phone before you buy next time (especially if branded from another carrier). This can save you a lot of headaches as you have just learned. Just remember some basics from this forum. Good luck.
I been at this for thee days now! so I bought a gnex from a friend that was using it on a plan with at&t. he now uses a prepaid plan with a different phone and sold me this galaxy nexus. now I did have a Motorola defy that I was using for tmobile but it has gon to crap so using a sim adaptor I placed it into this gnex but it wont pic up the tmobile network. when I go to settings phone info status it has my sim card phone number and all that, but it doesn't have network and all the other stuff. :crying:
so does anyone know how I can fix this or give me a walkthrough with using the unlock codes for Samsung galaxy nexus?
AT&T never sold a galaxy nexus. you already have an unlocked device. try doing a factory reset from the settings with your SIM card in it. Are you sure your sim adapter is fitting correctly?

Have you tried calling TMobile to see if there is anything they need to do on their end? There shouldn't be but you never know

I can confirm this works. I have a T-mobile sim inserted in my Verizon Note 3. Make sure you change your apn settings. I've had issues sending and receiving MMS with the suggested T-mobile apn settings. I have APN protocol set to IPv4 and APN roaming protocol set to IPv4/IPv6. This worked for awhile then it stopped working after I started playing with settings again (I just can't leave things alone). I managed to get mms working using hangouts to send and receive mms. I had to open hangouts go to settings - SMS - Access point names - select fast.metropcs.com.
Writing this just made me think of something else to try. I will try and report back. I would love others feed back to help refine this beast!
Have any of your tried and make sure that Verison Note 3 gets T-mobile LTE signal?
Tmo lte is not everywhere yet, should be able to at least get hspa. As far as I know, all of the gn3 variants in us / have lte capability should work. Att ones only work in refarmed areas.
verizon gn3 tmoblie lte
any updates on this i'm buying one today and need to know if i should get the Verizon n900v or the tmobile n900t i'm on tmobile now but will be switching to Verizon here i'm about 6 months

Ok. I ask because it came to my attention during research into my own recent phone purchases that Verizon will only allow LTE phones like the Note 3 onto their network via a postpaid plan, which means a contract. As long as you're planning to go back to Vz on a 2 year postpaid contract 6 months from now, things should work out fine.
As for the swap helping things in your area, from what I've read, the t-mobile/vz spectrum swap won't even be finalized until sometime this summer. Then they've got to actually gear up to use it. Could be a year or more before it sees wide use.
Also, even though it's Vz spectrum, it's a block that Vz never used. So there's no guarantee any existing phone will be able to access the new spectrum, including a Vz Note 3, even with some sort of radio firmware update. The new spectrum is great for the future, but I wouldn't count on it swinging anything in T- mobiles favor in the time frame you've indicated.
Sorry if this has been asked. What about using unlocked tmobile note 3 on verizon network? Is it possible? I don't know much about what bands needed for verizon . I'm thinking about switching to verizon if I can use tmobile note 3 on their network.
Nope. The T-mobile Note 3 doesn't have a CDMA radio, for one.

Yea, I tried everything, but what I think it was is that the SIM unlock probably didn't work. So, I just ported my number over to TMO. Thanks for the response though.
