I read the op as he knows how to change dpi....but needs play store that works with lower dpi setting.

Anybody running a density other than 240 or stock 320?

320 is too big and 240 is too small.
And I read using anything other than those will cause market compatibility issues ..correct?

I use 280, retains all the phone layouts. 240 was too small and made a few apps turn into tablet mode, which is more worse than better.
To fix market incompatibilities, buy:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.birdapi.android.dpipro
and apply the market fix, works great.
I feel quite comfortable with 246 (240 was causing some layout issues).
LCD Density Modder fix is great. I had some issues with previous releases, latest one fixed everything!

Do all your apps still show up in the market? Cause the market uses your density as part of the compatibility check to see what available for your phone.

Running 246 now. If the market works fine and shows me all apps im gonna keep bumping up.

Now some apps show up not compatible with this device.. I hate the market density check.

I like 260 myself. Market issues to deal with here as well... still, it's worth it if you ask me.

You can't modify your settings in stock launcher.
I'd recommend using Nova Launcher to change this (you can find it in the Themes & Apps section) change the Columns & Rows to your liking.
You can do this with any other launchers as well. Stock launcher has very limited options, so you can't change Columns & Rows.
ADWLauncher works great too. More options than nova as if now.

To anyone who doesn't feel like buying an app to fix the Market, you might try this:
1. Set your DPI to something "normal" like 240 or 320.
2. Reboot.
3. Force close the Market app (if it's running) and clear its cache+data.
4. Using Titanium Backup, freeze the "Market Updater" application.
5. Set your DPI back to whatever you want.
6. Reboot.
7. Launch the Market.
I believe that will prevent the Market from seeing you have a non-standard DPI.

Market for changed DPI?

Is there a way to make market work after changing the DPI? I change the DPI and then cannot find apps in the market. Anyone knows any trick to make it work on any DPI. I personally like to keep the DPI to 200.
Thanks in advance.

Check out Team Blacked Out. They have a LOT of inverted apps, including Craigslist. Unfortunately it doesn't work at the moment, but maybe they will update it, or maybe it's just my device.

Team Backout does great work, but their inverted Craigslist app is broken. It was last updated 11 months ago and doesn't work with 4.4.2. The app gets stuck on the setting location dialog. It may work for you if you are still on Jellybean. Either way, it's not the pro version.
I don't know of any other working, inverted Craigslist apps. But you can Google. Or theme an app yourself. I've never seen anyone posting pro versions of inverted apps though. Since I buy the pro versions for all of my favourite apps, that's meant that I've had to invert my apps myself.
There's probably an XDA thread or tutorial on doing this. Or you could bribe someone with pizza to do it for you. Typically it's a matter of extracting the background images and photoshopping them. Perhaps some XML edits to fix fonts and then repacking the app. More tedious than difficult to realize.
.

App compatibility

I'm running Paranoid Android 3.0 on my AT&T Galaxy Note 2 and it seems more and more of the apps in the play store are saying that they are incompatible with my phone. First it was Hulu and Netflix. But now Swiftkey also says not compatible. And these are all apps I already have installed. There are many more too. But i can't list them all.
What is going on here.

It's because of the DPI's you have set.

How do you mean. How would DPIs affect the play store?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
A lot of apps are made for certain DPI'S. If you have a custom DPI a lot of apps will show incompatible. You can change the DPI to stock, Download the apps u want, Then switch your DPI back.

Search for Xposed framework mod. In there you can assign different DPI for any app, so set your system to 240 and set launcher to 320. Unless you just want more shortcuts on "desktops" then in Xposed there is a mod that allows 5x4 icons on desktop. Look here mods repository.
Thanks for the help but i found some other post which i must have missed the first time around i browsed through.
