Try out the otterbox or Kayscase. Otterbox has more protection, larger and more expensive while kayscase makes ones that are slimmer and cheaper.
The Griffin Survivor suffers from some sounds issues. I took the membrane out over the speaker, problem solved.
Other then that it's a great case, I gladly demo the drop protection by throwing and dropping for the heck of it.

if you're looking for a protective case with delicate design, a good try on DSstyles. The cases from them work well for my S3 so far.
I like the Diztronics one the best.

I really like my otterbox defender. Very sturdy skeleton includes a durable screen protector similar to like gumdrop cases and shock absorber for the back. the rubber outside is nice to grip and its not the silicone stuff that attracts dust and hair like some do. a little pricey but worth it if you're clumsy like me. also comes in dozens of colors.
SPIGEN have a nice case for S3, little pricey tho

I know there are a lot of threads already about cases for my Samsung G II (Epic 4G Touch)
Heres the thing. I don't want a huge case. Why get a sleek thin phone just to put a bulky case on it?
What are some suggestions for a minimalist case that is better than just putting a sticker on it?
There are a few choices that I have found...
Hard Snap on Case - very thin but doesn't protect from drops very well
soft thin case very thin but I would imagine it would be hard to get in and out of a pocket from it "sticking" to your pants.
Trident Aegis case not as thin as the others, but definitely not bulky. Very good protection, no kickstand however.
Casemate Pop White case with kickstand pretty much like the aegis with a kickstand. I have one but I am not impressed with the build quality of the silicone. It flakes off in places due to the friction of pulling it out of a pocket.
For the "sticker" route the best I've found is:
Full Body Invisible Shield This will protect from scratches but not drops, etc.
Got one of these a few months ago and couldn't be happier.

Hope that helped. Happy Hunting.

I would personally have to say the Trident Ageis, very close to the otterbox line but available in more colors...plus they are a tad cheaper as well...
doesn't really get more minimal than this. I have one on all 3 of my phones. comes in different colors.

I disagree. The matte version of Diztronic's (formerly TPU Cases) case does not stick at all. There is just enough of a texture to feel like you have a solid grip, but smooth enough that it never sticks in your pocket.
I have the same requirements in a case as the OP, and I think a TPU case is a great idea. It has protected my phone from a handful of short falls onto a variety of surfaces without an issue.
I purchased the case after reading this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266308
I believe the overwhelming majority of reviews are positive for the case. Check out the Diztronic's page here: http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36&products_id=147
I am curious about the Nillkin case, but considering they seem to be only available when ordering from China, and that in the past, I've had snap-on cases scratch phones, I am worried. Here is a review of a Nillkin case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485054
Buy a few different ones and figure out what you like best. I tried a few different styles of tpu/rubber case and ended up with a trident aegis. My phones in the past all had minimal rubber case or none but it just feels right on this phone.
Taken from my post over at gnote accessories. Hopefully it will help a few fellow gnex users.

That looks like a great case, does it have a built in screen protector? Is it too grippy to slip in and out of a pocket when you aren't using the holster?
It looks like he has a separate screen protector installed, so I'd say no.

Yup wyatyoss, its the sp from the otterbox commuter. Only negative for me is it doesn't fill the whole screen but aside from that its a really tough and scratch resistant protector.
Thanks cade80, its a great case and I recommend it if ur looking for a rugged and functional case and holster. Its not too grippy at all really, goes in and out of pockets just fine as long as its not cramped in with other stuff.

It's a little grippy, but still easily goes in/out of your pocket. The only complaints I have are:
1. The rubber part is a lint magnet. Not a big deal since it wipes off pretty easily.
2. The clip on the holster hooks on a rubber part of the case. It makes it pretty difficult to holster the GNex with one hand since the clip catches the rubber part. It would be nice if the case had plastic at the top so it would just click in to the holster.
Despite these little flaws, it's a great setup. I mainly use the holster at work so I don't have to worry about it getting nasty while in my sweaty pockets. lol.
Bought two for both mine and my Bros gnex. Its really nice got both for 22$ each at www.versiomobile.com I love it... he thinks it slips too easily out of the hand.

I use this case with the verizon lte version + extended battery.. it's tight, but works..
I've had this case now for months.. I rarely use the kickstand sadly.. however the kickstand is a bit weak and the phone leans a little more than I would like while using the kickstand.. but its the best option I've found thus far..
Hey there guys...i just ordered my s3 and i saw a few videos where the s3 screen breaks very easily!
I also read the silicone cases or the TPU ones provide excellent shock resistance so i'm thinking of buying one!
What do you think?Which case will provide more protection to my phones screen? (i'm only intrested on not breaking the screen, the scratches etc are lower priority...)
I also ordered an InvisibleShield not that it'll make much difference but i'm just sayin'...
For me.. Both!
There are some cases that has both soft (mostly tpu) and hard frames stacked together for better protection. I'm thinking getting SGP Neo Hybrid when it's released. I believe someone post this video somewhere. But, I couldn't find any image of it. I used it for my galaxy s2, and it was bomb.

Since I haven't met my 10 post count yet I can't link
I'm using one of the Rocks Sand series cases that I picked up locally for ~10 USD. Big fan of the texture, very easy to grip and it doesn't look bad at all with my pebble blue S3.
One of the biggest bonuses I think is that the headphone jack up top isn't obstructed as it was with some of the previous rubber cases I used with my S2. Headphones with right angle plugs had problems being inserted firmly.
I bought 3 ebay tpu cases for my galaxy s3 and they all have horrible fitment =(...stay away from them
Just got my first case. $5 and it feels like it. Very. Thin, has what appears to be decent grip on the side but hard to tell without the phone. I bought it for the kickstand but it feels pretty cheesy to say the least. It won't even hold itself straight up on its own. If it works well with the actual phone I'll take the time to update my feelings about it.

Hi there fellows,
After reading a lot about S3's broken screens, I have decided to buy a case for my S3. I am confused between Otterbox commuter and SGP neo hybrid lumi.
I want the case to be shock absorbent and protect my phone from accidental drops as much as possible. I am ok with aesthetics of both (neo does look better though). I have seen pix of commuter and got the feeling that its boundary is too thick at the top and bottom to attend a call or press the home button properly. Is that so?
While SGP's boundary doesn't seem that thick, it doesn't seem to offer the solid protection of commuter overall.
So kindly guide me that does SGP offer same level of protection as offered by Commuter or not?
Thanks.
They are two different types of cases. The Commuter has a hard shell and is bulkier. The Spigen is very thin. Not paper thin, but it's minimal. A lot of people prefer that.
I hate how the Commuter covers all the ports. I prefer the Neo Hybrid by far.
It depends what you're looking for. If you want great protection, the commuter. If you want style with minimal protection then the neo hybrid. I've owned both n I liked them both
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Check out the Ballistic SG and Ballistic LS ,The SG has great protection, but i really like the looks of the new LS, it is made to be slim with corner protection, but I just haven't seen any reviews yet for it on the S3.

theres a ton of copy cases on ebay too, but i dunno how those are.
Body Glove Dropsuit looks pretty good too http://www.amazon.com/Body-Glove-Rugged-Samsung-9284901/dp/B008J2V3KW/ref=pd_cp_cps_0
Im also thinking about buying a new case with a little more protection. I just got a cheap silicone case and feel that won't be enough.. My screen already cracked in the bottom corner from sliding out my pocket the 2nd day I had it (when i already had that cheap case on order).
ok thanks guys. Looks like commuter is better for protection.
One more thing. How does the screen protector that comes with commuter perform against sgp ultra nano clear/optics?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
The Ultra Nano in my experience is better than the otter box one but the otter box screen protector isn't so bad

I've got the Trident Ageis (black) case for my S3. IMHO Trident makes a case equal in quality and function to Otterbox but for nearly half the price. I grabbed mine off the big book site for $17. I especially like how the silicone sticks out a bit on the back so it doesn't slide off of smooth surfaces as easy.

I have been looking at the cases.

I've said it a million times, To protect a phone like this you need a bulky case. Slim cases might take a drop or two but you'll be replacing the case or the phone.
You may as well go naked if you only want a slim case.
