Low ringer volume [solved]

Does anybody know how to fix the low volume when the ringer first kicks in? Let me clarify.. when I receive a call, my ringtone plays very low for about 2-3 seconds, then ramps up slowly. This causes me to miss lots of calls and I hate it. I read that this was a "feature" introduced in Gingerbread. My Evo had this feature as well, but it had a way to be disabled via settings.

I've never seen any setting for this (but doesn't mean it doesn't exist). I know certain ringtones are built that way. Have you tried several different ones to make sure it happens on all of them?
Which rom, version of rom, ect?

Sounds like volume crescendo is enable in sound settings.

Oops, looks like this feature was removed from the rom I am on. Probably several others too that are based on Calk's GB rom.

Yes, it seems to happen on all GB based ROMs and all ringtones.

I'm running Calk's v3.0 with the Dark Fire red theme and baseband FD02. Also, I haven't seen that volume crescendo feature in any EL29 based ROMs I've tried.

Yes it was. I had to correct myself.
If it's happening on multiple GB roms (like I said, a number of these GB roms are based on Calkulin's work, along with a multitude of other contributors), but we're not experiencing the same issues I don't know what to say.
Have you gone back to stock rooted for a day or so just to see the difference?

Nope, but I think I'll try that. I have a Nandroid of stock, rooted EL29.

I remember seeing a zip mod to get rid of the increasing ringer before.

That is a fairly old post and I'm pretty certain that Calk already implemented that in his latest builds.
Here is a copy of Calk's changelog:
v2.0.1a
Moved Polaris Office & Voice Command to Removed_Apps folder(v2.0.1a)
Removed more traces of CIQ(v2.0.1)
Fixed Kies from crashing(v2.0.1)
Based on new EK02 build
Changed kernel to Rogue Stock EK02 v1.1.1
Crawrj's Hotspot Hack
Disabled increasing ring
Tweaked icons to fit better
Tweaked Battery Saver script
Edit: I'm pretty sure that installing some themes will replace the phone.apk and thereby disabling the tweak.
I've attached Calk's 3.0 phone.apk in a flashable zip. Good luck.
Edit2 : Verified that the Dark Fire theme you're using does replace the phone.apk file. Please flash the one I provided and maybe let the developer of the theme know in case he can correct this in future releases.

Do you think he's basing his theme off of an even older version of the ROM, thus, botching the dialer?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
I may have forgotten to replace the phone.apk in the Calkulin compatible version of Dark Fire X (maintaining 3 themes and building a new one). I can extract phone.apk from Calkulin 3.0 and mod it then send it to you.
My only question to the OP is this:
Why didn't you mention this yesterday when I was implementing all of those adjustments/fixes to Dark Fire X for you and CyberpodS2? Surely you would have noticed it then. I have a really busy day today, but I'll try to get that apk to you ASAP.

Themed Swype for ICS

Hello all,
Are there any themed Swype's for ICS? I've been searching but can only find older ones that ran on GB. Will those work? Don't want to screw up my phone, currently running the newest AOKP...

Go here http://jbthemes.com/djdarkknight/daswypethemes/
I'm running AOKP as well and Swype is working flawlessly.

I got excited, but then I noticed it wasn't for the beta.
Oh well...
Would be nice if it was for the beta but I'd rather use the themed one than to see that orange line again
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
from what i understand, there's been some difficulty getting the newest beta themed on it's own. however, many of the themes that are used on cm9/aokp are getting updated with matching swype themes included

Confused about themes...

There's a sticky in themes and apps that's all up to date themes for cm9 theme engine. When I go to one of the themes I want it takes me to a topic on rootzwiki. Then it links me to the dev's website and he has a few different download links. There's a download for cm9 and cm10. I am currently running bamf ROM& kernel. Jellybean version. I know the theme chooser is in this rom, just not sure if I should be using cm 9 or 10. Usually just change my icons and launcher. This is my first attempt to change themes...
Edit: here's the theme I want

I also need answer... I got aokp black jelly bean ROM and it has thing option. It's built into the ROM, but it's not separate app..

Most of the are for cm9 and 10 if u get a error saying not compiled correctly apply the "system" theme reboot and apply the theme u want and reboot a second time to enable all of the theme for example the Navy bar hope that helps

bamf is a jelly bean Rom correct? Then the cm 10 version is what you want.

I would also like to use theme chooser...im on PA 1.97
after i download the theme i want do i have to place it in specific folder?
and do i have to manually search for themes myself or is there something like MIUI has where i can preview them and download them directly to my phone and apply?

No really? Who wants an ICS theme on JB? Seriously though if its for CM10 thats the one he wants not the old one for ICS. I never said they werent compatible. I of all people should know (Recognized Themer).
Theme chooser themes are apks and h just open the theme manager app and apply or if it a flash able theme just make sure its compatible with your ROM and flash it

If this helps, I can confirm that cm 10 themes works on aokp ROM

[Req] S3 Theme

I been looking for a nice theme for my S3. So far I have not found one that I like. I have look at the App & Theme Section. Anyone have a nice theme that you willing to share?
Thank you!
Need more info. What rom are you on? If you flash cm10 or aokp there's hundreds of themes for them in the market and the main android themes section.

Can I do it without rom? I only rooted. (New to Android.)
Maybe, you need to at least have a custom recovery installed, and find a theme that is for the stock rom

I am using jovys darthstalker 7 ROM but fell in love with team venoms rom s themes. The title says it all plz could someone port that theme to b native with jovys rom . I would be willing to donate as well as others I'm sure. Including the link to that ROM with the themes. Really don't care about the pink theme but the other 2 are amazing.

I have something that you could try.. At least for anaconda theme. What I do with jovys rom is I take a section of build prop from wicked sensations rom the very last part in it is what allows kubanupdater to install. So you copy paste those few lines from wicked and paste it into jovys build prop at the bottom.. Reboot and then flash kubanupdater.. Now the framework is probably different but I know that I'm able to flash the pulldown/battery mods/ setting backgrounds and some other stuff so maybe just maybe that edit will allow you to flash anaconda theme on jovys..

OP why don't you take a crack at theming see if you can learn and provide something, there are so many threads with knowledge and the web itself. But as far as stating others will donate you can only speak for yourself, Thanks.
